Rest day yesterday. Walked w/hubby and the dogs for 2.5 miles this morning, then left them home for another 1.1 mile walk w/occasional running/sprinting. I might have to keep doing random intervals like that. It was fun!

I walk and run with my dogs through the neighborhood at o-dark-thirty every morning. I used a headlamp last winter so I could see where I was going, and as an after-thought, so others could see me. Unless I'm on a sidewalk, when there are cars running nearby, I avoid... stop and wait for them to pass if they're moving...…

December miles: 12/2: 3.1 12/4: 2.51 12/6: 1.6 12/9: 2.62 12/12: 1.9 Walked about half an hour every morning this week with the dogs. Monday was through about an inch of freshly fallen snow, Tuesday was slushy, icy and fun (ha), yesterday was colder than expected. Rather than run on Tuesday, I lifted in the evening. Last…

December miles: 12/2: 3.1 12/4: 2.51 12/6: 1.6 12/9: 2.62 Temp was 31F/-1C with a light wind when I left home. I debated wearing nylon pants over my tights and decided against it. During the warmup, I almost went back and put them on. In the end, I think it would have been okay to wear them but it wasn't necessary. At…

@mbaker566 Good idea. We'll have to see if we can't rearrange things to get a TV/monitor in front of it.

Scheduled rest day Wednesday, so I spent a good amount of time foam rolling, massaging and stretching, with a little strength work. Yesterday called for 2 miles but I wasn't sure how my calf/achilles would feel so decided to just try the treadmill. Good news is that neither of those hurt while running. Bad news is I only…

Happy birthday!

This morning called for 2.5 miles. I bundled myself and the dogs up for the 23F/-5C temp and headed out. It went really well, though my hips were a little tight/sore at first. I didn't worry about keeping my HR down like I did last time; this time I just tried to keep my breathing in check. This resulted in my average HR…

Aww @mbaker566 what adorable puppies... so much work! Thank you for all you do for them! Thanks to @Elise4270, @katharmonic and @Scott6255 for the birthday wishes. After my morning run, my husband made us pizza for brunch, then we both took a nap for a couple hours. We had a relaxing afternoon and met our oldest and his gf…

@debrakgoogins Congratulations!!!

@Orphia Congratulations on your PB Half!!! @amirahdaboss Have you ever taken measurements of yourself? I like to use those along with weight to track. Though @Elise4270 has a good point - sizes are different, even between manufacturers. The range of jeans I can fit in varies greatly just because of that. Who inspires me as…

Yesterday and today are rest days. I avoided the rain this morning and rode a slow, easy 10 miles on our indoor recumbent bike. Hoping the rain will let up and we can do a dry walk with the dogs outside later...

Thanks for setting up the thread, @shanaber. Welcome @Deviette I'm in for 38 miles for December.

Tuesday's 2 mile run was supposed to be today, now that I got my training plan fixed. So today's run was Tuesday's plan: 2.79 miles with the dogs. I took it easy, trying to keep my heart rate below "zone 5" - HA! I'm too out of shape apparently. About 50/50 between zones 4 and 5 according to Garmin. Probably too soon for…

Happy Birthday @Avidkeo!

Rest day yesterday. Raining and 40F/4C this morning. Dogs weren't interested in going out in the rain so I ran my first time by myself... with my new Garmin. I ran a little faster than I do with the dogs, which meant faster than I *should*, so I was grateful when my 2 miles were done. I had planned on going farther…

As for me, Friday was a scheduled rest day ... just walked the dogs. Yesterday my husband walked the dogs so I didn't even do that! Today, it felt bitter cold early this morning. We waited until after breakfast and it had warmed up a bit, then went out for 2.51 miles. The first mile or so I continue to take walking breaks,…

I just bought myself a Garmin Vivoactive 3... :open_mouth:

Yeah!!! Congrats on all the PRs!!

Happy birthday @AlphaHowls!

I RAN A 5K! I was going to wait until next week... but RunKeeper convinced me to attempt a 5k today. I was going to walk the dogs "real quick" (maybe a mile) because it was raining, take them home and run alone. The dogs and I headed out for our walk and... it wasn't raining. So I figured, what the heck, and started the 5k…

I don't know HOW you manage to run with back spasms. I can barely walk for a few days when mine goes out. Major kudos!

26F/-3C is quite cold, and I don't like running in the dark (reminder to self: replace batteries in dim headlamp). Luckily for me, my girl is an excellent pacer: nice speed normally, slowing for slick spots/intersections/dips in the road. If only for the dashes after a random squirrel, she'd be perfect! ;) I set my app for…

@shanaber Thanks for sharing those videos. I've saved them to watch later.

Congrats on your PR @zdyb23456 ! Holy smokes that's a LOT of turns! I ran today after 5 days rest for my lower back. It's still a little touchy but the run was great. We were SUPER slow and careful, checking in on how my back felt often. Each time the dogs wanted to stop and sniff, I let them. So.. not exactly a C25K…
