  • NSV: My hubby is a photographer (uses it for work and it's a hobby too) so lots of photos. I used to be concerned with the ones he has taken of me but now I don't even care. And he has gotten some great ones of me lately - shared freely on social media. They seem to be the most popular things I share. People like seeing me…
  • Thanks @TerezaToledo ! Me too <3
  • I think the moral of the story amber is to not clean. :D I used to have my whole day's attitude controlled by the scale. If I was down= happy. If I was the same or up = angry (especially if I had been really trying). I went a month without it and did fine. I had a mental switch in that time and now I can weigh daily (to…
  • Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like people really into bodybuilding would avoid too much walking. Many people who lift have active jobs that they must do anyways. If you can eat enough for the walking and lifting (and, if building muscle, more) However, my favorite way of relaxing is watching a show with popcorn…
  • Down 2.5 from pre camping weigh in. Since moving up my calories I have maintained or dropped. So far, I think push back up to tdee was not only a great idea, but doing it slower this time seems to be taken better by my body.
  • Jenn - I just dropped 2 1/2 pounds, thats about 4 total this week - even below my pre vacation weigh in. Our bodies are weird! My loss may not stick around but I think I am on the right track as far as getting back up to tdee.
  • Hi! Have you checked out em2wl.com/start ? Or read the stickies above? Tell us more about yourself so we can help you get to your goals.
  • Wow- lots of steps! At em2wl they say weights to transform, cardio for fun. If your walks are important to you, keep them. What tdee does your Fitbit give you? Go off of that, but you may need to adjust up or down depending. You can monitor your weight and other measurements to help figure out if that is right for you. If…
  • I would keep focused on the protein - do you hit your macro on that? Your macros do not have to be perfect. That will come over time. It took me 7 months to nail my macros most days. I think you are on the right track, just be patient. This will be much more sustainable in the long run. When you can eat more and you don't…
  • I agree with these ladies. I've been here since November. My first cut revealed to me that i wasn't ready to cut. My first transformation has been mental. This takes time.
  • Yes @empressichel you can share anything i put on here without asking. :) @heybales chili and fritos! How did you know? Plus, chips, sandwich meat, cookies, mike's hard lemonade (yum). It wasnt too hot - we were at about 8,000 feet and it rained every afternoon. But no campfire due to fire ban out here in the West :'(
  • :D Proof we cannot go based on the scale: I gained a few pounds over my camping trip (almost 3- not bad). Old me would have restricted like crazy. New me: lifted weights and ate out for lunch. I am back down to the weight I was hovering at 2 days before leaving. I only weigh so I can pinpoint that tdee and, eventually, my…
  • I think we 1) come to realize the scale is stupid. And 2) often lose the desire to achieve what is probably an unrealistic look.
  • @slw19 I did not start with this attitude at all! I wouldn't say it out loud but while reading em2wl literature that states it's a long process, your body needs to heal, you will probably gain some weight, yadda yadda, I was actually thinking: "not me. I am sure this is a secret that can help me shed some pounds. The…
  • I thought patience came with age?!?! Lol.
  • Sure @TerezaToledo ! My new goal: share with as many people as possible! Remember my white shirt fishing win? Well I chose to wear that shirt because we went fishing with a young gal who wore jeans and a long sleeve black t as usual. She is a gorgeous young lady and I don't want her to waste as much of her life hating…
  • It's probably a life long process @tj0861 but I am working on it!
  • It is the right way! I jumped up and gained way too much. I have trouble being patient lol. Keep going!
  • Thanks girls! @slw19 this is my thread documenting my journey. I started em2wl after 12 years or on and off low calorie dieting. I was always able to drop the weight after each baby except my last. I think my body was just done with me. I had really erratic periods, was sick all of the time, etc. It's taken me a few years…
  • Camping this long weekend and seeing all that I eat as deadlift fuel for next week @TerezaToledo !!! Although I am so tired I can't imaged lifting. But, I am sure, once I get back into the swing of life, I will be happy to go lift!
  • Welcome @SonicPal and @mzthickums03 !
  • @TerezaToledo when I first did true strength I saw my numbers rise by 30# . I remember telling my husband and right before Christmas that my 2016 goal was a 200# deadlift. I hit that by March so onto a 300# goal - no time limit though :) The ice cream was delicious! But the lady who served us isn't the one who is normally…
  • Deadlifted again today. Managed to get 2 reps at 245# yeah! Also went to get ice cream with my kiddos and I enjoyed some.
  • I like Teresa's idea. Lift heavy, get PRs in the summer. Enjoy the slow pace of life. Cut during the crazy, frantic school year.
  • I wonder if it's also because of the consistency of your school year schedule. Since your schedule is not really dictated by you, there isn't much deviation.
  • This is awesome!
  • I think I do less in the summer :D too hot!
  • 3 month break? Lol.
  • I haven't lost inches or pounds while increasing (sadly) but I am still happy. If i can't lose weight I'd rather eat as much as possible. And hopefully, someday, I can slim down! (Or notice since maybe I am but it is a slow process.)
