  • Hey guys and gals, Still having a lot of issues. I was mostly eating simple carbs like bread, crackers, etc. It doesn't hurt my stomach but I put on almost 10 pounds and was hungry all of the time! Ugh, the worst combo. So, since I can't eat filling carbs like whole grains, veggies, I decided to try low carb. That way I…
  • I'm first trying to figure out triggers because it will be the cheapest 😂 I haven't been eating red meat or raw fruits and veggies this week-long I actually feel really good and I was surprised by my energy yesterday (but I'm visiting family so not doing housework so maybe it's unrelated to diet. We will see when I get…
  • Hi again everyone, I've figured out my old account and am trying to get back into tracking. Other than the past month of crazy busy summer I've been lifting consistently. Haven't lost weight in a year but have slimmed down. Haven't really been tracking, but am trying to get back into the habit because of two reasons: I'd…
  • I was just expecting the course to push me higher and farther on the good path I was on... Not shove me off and bury the trail under tons and tons of debris. Lol. I was a little afraid someone would say 2, only because it will take longer. I still have the impatience.
  • I'm trying to focus this fall and winter on nailing down that tdee. I lowered my calories and I will increase by 50 every week, weighing in using Libra to track trends. Is a week enough time or should I consider two? Or do i need to be open to other numbers? I'm hoping this can truly nail down my numbers. Because I didn't…
  • I'm kind of in a similar position @Sevio I have been up to my tdee, but I didn't go slowly so even after I reached it I was still gaining (suppressed tdee), so I'm trying to figure out my number exactly. I remember at the end of my reset (well, guess it wasn't the end), I was pushing 170#. Now, 9 months later, I'm pushing…
  • @TerezaToledo I think I will weigh once a month or so. I like not weighing constantly. But when I never weigh I just get bigger. A lot of people seem to be losing inches regardless of what the scale says, I'm not losing inches, or pounds. My pictures show bigger in some areas. I do have goals, and I do want to meet them.…
  • Maybe your tdee should be slightly higher? Is that 180 grams 30%?
  • Back from a week of hunting. It's nice to go out and enjoy life without worrying about weight. I came back about the exact same weight.
  • Still eating and pushing through. Having some moments where I'm feeling very large. Trying to push that out of my mind and focus on the good things in my life. Like, I like how if I eat too much or have a little freakout due to stress, its not the end of the world. Yeah, I've gained 20 pounds this year BUT I feel like I'm…
  • Great job @ibtmas ! Keep with it. The mental game is hard, and you will encounter rough times (I am right now and I've been em2wl since last November) but keep the positive attitude and push through. Do you feel beastly during your lifting sessions with more food? :D
  • Thank you @TerezaToledo ! You've been a big help to me! I have no idea what prompted my mini breakdown, but I'm on the mend now. Things look a lot brighter right now, even though nothing has changed. Ahhh, this mental game! Its a constant battle. I went back to eating tdee and my weight has decreased 3 pounds (almost back…
  • Hi @beautifulswan1 Let's make this a lifestyle change for the long haul!
  • I imagine getting protein that high is a challenge. I can hit my goals everyday with eggs for breakfast. Add in some chicken sausage. Either make a breakfast burrito or a scramble with some potatoes. Yum. Do you like cottage cheese? A great protein source. If you want something sweet add fruit. Or sweetener and cinnamon.…
  • Thank you @zanyzana I stink at following directions too, which is why I think ive been frustrated lately. If I could start over i would slowly increase my calories rather than doing it all at once. We've got a great support system here. Friend as many of us as possible. And ask questions! @empressichel @Raynn1 as always,…
  • Wow @Raynn1 Wow. That study is incredible. I must have read about it before (I was a psych major after all), but I'm reading it in a new light now! Thank you for all of your help and encouragement!
  • No, I like the interaction @jvezzsb01 we can all help each other out! That's how we will all get through. Inspire & encourage. Help others like we have been helped. Keep on keeping on. Make a list of everything that has improved with em2wl. Thanks for sharing that I have been inspiring. Sometimes I wonder why I keep…
  • @jvezzsb01 Thanks for the response! It's so hard to not compare. I actually deleted my insta app because it wasn't helping! I try to remember those people started with a different canvas. They build muscle. We have to build muscle and get rid of fat. But think of the character building and maturity that we will gain as we…
  • I want to record this here, both for myself and for any one else in the same boat. I do not feel successful at em2wl. I know I have only been here for 10 months, which is just scratching the surface of a lifestyle, but this isn't a flash in the pan, obviously. But, we humans are built to respond to positive feedback. And…
  • Interesting! Plus, if you are like me, you do some measurements but not all over your body. Maybe something on me is changing but I haven't been measuring there. As far as an workouts go... Take this with a grain of salt because I have more of a beer belly than a 6 pack. But, I think ab work as part of a larger…
  • Doesn't bug me @TerezaToledo I don't have much to share right now (and certainly not anything uplifting.) But I will be back soon to share some thoughts. I try to keep this as transparent as possible, because lying, or glossing over the bad parts doesn't help me. Or anybody else trying to figure this em2wl thing. I am not…
  • @heybales I am not sure that makes sense to me. If it was fat they lost...? I haven't lost any weight, but I have increased my squat by 35 pounds since April. I've increased my deadlifts by 25 Pounds since March. I know I increased more than that since last year but I can't find my records. What I was talking about above…
  • My husband said my butt was getting even bigger, and that I was like a man working on his biceps. (The biggest focus). Lol. It was all a compliment! :D
  • Great link @TerezaToledo I know I have read it before and it's still helpful!
  • I failed my deadlift today. Could not pull 260# and that's OK. A setback isn't a "no," it's a "not right now." The weight in the bar may not always go up. The weight in the scale (or inches in the measuring tape) may not always go down. But my biggest thing I need to focus on is moving forward. Continuing what I know I…
  • Honestly, it seems like both ways will seem like a while without results, until we get rid of the diet mentality. I definitely still have some lingering and expect to *see changes* faster than what is possible. Thanks for the article @TerezaToledo
  • @beverlyriley900 its called body recomp. Lots of conflicting info out there on it. Its possible, especially if you don't have a ton of body fat. Unfortunately, every one is different. Some people lose on a reset, some maintain, some gain. If you are enjoying the weights and the food and seeing changes in your body there is…
  • Hang out at that level for a while, there is no rush. Gotta let your body know you are serious and aren't going to drop too low again.
  • Allow yourself to have those treats. Clean eating is okay if you want to do it, but it can cause you to be too perfectionist and later binge. Eat the foods that make you feel good, but allow treats, and hit that protein goal!
  • @beverlyriley900 Yes, you are on the right path. If you didn't hop on the scale, would you have been satisfied with yourself today? If so, you are letting the scale define you. Good job on the protein! If you love to snack, plan for it. I leave myself calories for popcorn every night (if I don't want it, I sub in cereal…
