I hate bmi too. I would categorize myself as overweight, but not obese. I do not have any health issues. I don't even feel like my weight affects most of what I do. I will definitely consider smaller amounts of time at a deficit. It would be much easier on me than looking at 2 months of a cut.

@raynn1 I totally get that. I definitely said eff it. Then I pinched my belly in my belt, which is not only painful but kinda embarrassing. And it did make me realize that I do eventually want to reduce body fat. Some aesthetic reasons, but mostly practical for mobility and such. I've also toyed with the idea of eating my…

@terezatoledo its so true. In march I was ready to cut. So ready, in fact, that I rushed my reset. But now the thought is repulsive. Lol. I think you look great by the way. You obviously had a successful muscle building bulk. Yay for strength!
-
Just a few more thoughts: not sure how to process. I am doubting if I will ever have the self-control to cut. I cannot seem to even plan my maintenance day and stay on par with that.
-
Something @Raynn1 said on an other thread, but I wanted to record here: "Sometimes its not something you have recently done that makes a difference.. its a compound effect from months of being consistent that lead to a drop in lbs, or a change in inches or whatnot..Weight loss/Fat loss/Inches lost are not all linear.. so…

Maybe try dense foods. Peanut butter, nuts, etc pack a big caloric punch without being too voluminous.

Welcome @sweetie1975 Have you read the starter guide?
-
Good reminder. I never even thought of that @Raynn1

I have actually considered cutting mid Oct to mid November and then again after our thanksgiving. I know people say to avoid the holidays but that's usually when things calm down for us. (We don't do too much holiday stuff). I'm just not sure that's enough at tdee? I ate at tdee jan- march. Cut (with breaks) part of…

Yes, and stress really gets me! My goal this fall is to stress less. I homeschooling my kids so my schedule gets a bit rougher in the fall. Lol. I will not cut until the new year. If I still haven't gotten back into tracking by then I think i will spend January getting back into that habit. Then I can cut feb-may or June…

Thank you. I like coming back and being reminded, because its so easy to think about my "lack of progress" sometimes. Or, if one area of life isn't going too well, I tend to get disappointed in all.

Hi @beverlyriley900 Here is a tdee calculator: http://eatmore2weighless.com/weight-loss-calculator/ I typed in your info at light activity and it shows 2031 calories. If you did add in exercise you may need to look at the moderate activity level. For more info, check out the stickies above or the free starter guide on the…

I started with strong lifts 5x5. Its a very simple program. Only 5 lifts to learn/perfect. There is an app if you have a smart phone. If you do this, try to find some videos to see form. I watched a mark ripptoe DVD. Or, em2wl has some starting programs on their website. They suggest 3 whole body weight days a week. Their…

Yeah, very low. 1200 is low for me and I am a foot shorter. It will Be confusing at first and, even with all the information you may still bumble through it. That's what I did but it all worked out. Experience brings wisdom. Nothing is irreversible. If you add in some weight lifting during the reset you'll use some of…

@Runngurl43 oops, I read that as 2 hours a day! Sorry! But with cardio and weights plus walking 5 miles a day you definitely aren't sedentary or light.

Welcome! You've come to the right place- we are all about finding something that you can stick to. Instead of rigid meal plans, we recommend eating enough for your body, and a focus on eating enough protein and fiber. What do you enjoy for fitness?
-
This is kind unrelated. I'm watching a friends kids this weekend. I find watching other peoples kids overwhelming. They aren't bad kids just not mine you know. Of course my body decides it's good timing to stay up half the night puking. Not feeling too great this morning. All of the above combined reminds me of when my…

I will let our more knowledgeable people comment, but what calorie level have you been eating? And what kinds of food- have you been tracking protein? Part of the reset is slowly upping calories (I used to maintain at 1400, now I can maintain at 2400. I am a short female). Part of the reset is fueling our bodies with…

I put strenuous because it looks like you workout an hour daily (not including the walks). I'm not an expert, but even if you don't get your heart rate up, you are still moving. You could slowly work up and minimize some weight gain. You did say you were already gaining weight.
-
I think your calories are too low. The calculator at em2wl.com shows your tdee at 2404. Do you do so much cardio because you enjoy it, or is it for weight loss purposes?
-
Awesome girl!!!! Why do you think you've been successful lately? Just curious.
-
I only gained when I increased calories, so I think stopping your gaining is a great thing! You'll have to test out that number and see if it works for you. The calculator can only give you an estimate. Your tdee may be above that, especially if you are active. @Runngurl43

Thank you @TerezaToledo and @Raynn1 I always knew stress was a problem for me but it became apparent after a laid back, lazy summer. Really nothing to stress about! And it made me realize that stressing is stupid. :D sadly, I can't ignore all responsibilities year around, so I did make it a goal to chill this fall. I…

So I have been hanging around here since last novemberish. I've been doing em2wl's crushing the diet mentality course. I have been transitioning from one of the fastest funniest summers into "real life". My real life includes homeschooling my kids, dishes, laundry, etc. I am finding it hard to want to track. I find myself…

Welcome! Starting my own thread was very helpful to tracking my progress and thoughts. The reset process is the time to heal your body, your mind, and your relationship with food.

Weird nsv: I wore jeans with a belt all day for the first time in... 5+ years? 8 years? Not even sure! Part of why I could is because I went out and bought jeans that fit now. Not jeans that I hope to fit into next month. I look better and feel better about myself in them!
-
This is awesome!!!! I call those days and weeks off my mental health breaks. :)

Hi @scaryterry133 Welcome to the group! Here is a reset guide that talks about what em2wl is all about. http://eatmore2weighless.com/the-metabolism-reset-guide/ You can calculate your tdee at the website too. If you've been eating below your tdee, increase slowly. You can change your body without being hungry all of the…

Ugh, meal planning and grocery shopping! Never ends! I am trying to get a second fridge because ours is always shoved full of stuff. Thankful we have food but tired of Rearranging every time I need anything!
