eat a bunch of bananas or avocados for the bruising. A 5K sucks no matter how you cut it. I did a 22 minute one last fall and it was terrible...

I have never trained a bird but I did train one cat to use the toilet... Have you ever lied to get out of work?

Pushups are great. Do increase them gradually over time. If they get easy add a backpack with some bricks to the mix. They are a compound exercise engaging many muscles so I am not sure that doing a bunch would create an imbalance. Throw in some chinups or pull ups to "balance" out. If you cannot do chin ups get a low bar…

I eat in the middle of the night all the time. I usually log it on the next day. These days I keep a small protein bar bedside and when I wake up eat that and drink some water. It is usually enough to get me back to sleep and doesn't disrupt my intake for the next day so much that it causes me hunger.

Make sure to keep your calorie intake up to offset all the activity to keep from loosing muscle mass. I would find it hard to get skinny fat on a bike that much. When I have my big summers of 1000+ miles on the bike I can eat anything I want and still lose fat weight while maintaining muscle mass.

The summer before last I realized that since a human is 75% water and excess sodium intake is a great way to retain water then dropping water may be a great way to drop weight. To that point, I started trying to never consume foods with sodium in MG over the calorie content per serving which means my sodium is always below…

Fine with me. I don't date ladies with no head who insist on wearing cheetah print everywhere. ;)

She wouldn't spam the "Why did you dump the person above you" thread like I like to do!

doesn't it depend on how you want to perform? Get smashed and run and it sucks. Drink less and it sucks less but is still running. If you are looking to PR then knock off all together for a long period. If you are looking to complete modestly enjoy yourself and ignore your friends. I PRed a race while crazy hung over a…

Get outside and ride a bike or go for a hike with a weighted pack. The change of scenery may freshen things up.

Feels like a lot of harshness in response to this post. In fact it is a fat source primarily with protein making it a less than ideal source of protein for some occasions. It is like Herbalife products that claim to be protein supplements but the main ingredient is maltodextrin a crappy corn starch. It is a bit mislead…

macro nutrient proportioning has been very successful for me. I started with 40/30/30 carbs/fat/protein and worked with it from there based on my energy and feeling of fullness and settled on about 50/25/25. Remember that it is proportion by calories and a gram of protein/carb has 4 calories per and fat 9 calories per so…

Certainly work to get more to eat through the day. I eat a big breakfast then progressively smaller meals through the day. I try to eat dinner early and fast 12-14 hours through the evening and the night. Everybody is different though so you gotta play it by feel a bit. No one knows your body as well as you don.

This is how I understand it as well. I generally eat two free range organic vegetarian eggs a day.

This thread is almost scandalous but I love it!

Do it up in a dutch oven at 350 degrees for an hour or so. Add tomatoes, peppers, chicken broth, garlic, onion, and browned meat of your choice. Stir once or twice. Put it in burritos, with beans, eggs, or a vegetable side for dinner. Freeze it in little packs for lunches.

You just need to find the right buddies. There are plenty of athletes and fitness minded people around here you just have to look a bit.

Maybe some kind of clean hummus? It is fiber rich and has lots of potassium like an avocado. The trouble is store bought hummus is full of garbage that washes the benefit of the beans to some degree. I make it at home with tahini, chickpeas, chickpea juice, spices, and a food processor.

I am not super motivated to exercise. I don't know if anyone really likes it. It is just better than feeling like garbage all the time so I do it. Plus it buys me more room to eat awesome food too!
