  • Yep! I enter my weight on MFP as well. It does the same thing as Libra (shows you a line graph of your weight over time), but I use Libra for that junk at the bottom of my screen shot (BMI, expected date I'll get to my goal weight if I maintain the current trend, etc.). If you're not interested in that other info, MFP is…
  • It's a personal preference. Some people weigh in once a week, or once every few weeks. Others weigh in everyday. I personally prefer weighing in every morning (naked, after peeing, before showering) and use a weight trend app called Libra. The app shows my trend over time and prevents me from freaking out over [completely]…
  • Welcome, Charity! There are lots of great resources to help you on your way. Check out the stickies (most helpful posts) at the top of the forum boards. Great, to-the-point info to help you cut through the BS and avoid many of the pitfalls people make when they first start out. Helped me a lot when I first logged on to…

  • Breathtakingly beautiful. You're very lucky (and I'm very jealous)!
  • I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but that scale drop was mostly - if not entirely - water weight. You can consume whatever food you want (in solid or liquid form) as long as you're tracking your calories and you're burning more than you consume. I'm only posting because I don't want others to believe they can lose 8+…
  • Don't give up on a goal simply because of the time it will take to reach it. The time will pass anyway.
  • Wow! Congratulations on your ongoing success! I really love MFP too. I'm keenly aware of my diet, which puts me in control of what I can eat (oreos, for example :))
  • 1) Losing 10 lbs in two months is great! That's not a long time at all! 2) Overfeeds can cause water retention big time (what other people are telling you). 3) There are many reasons the scale fluctuates: http://physiqonomics.com/the-weird-and-highly-annoying-world-of-scale-weight-and-fluctuations/ 4) There's no way you…
  • I met him on Tinder during my divorce. I was going out of my way to make reckless decisions. He was in rehab (like, living at the Salvation Army rehabilitation center). On paper, a big no no. I'm a rule-following, over-achieving goody-two-shoes! He was incredibly smart and he made me laugh a lot. He's now three years…
  • I didn't think Subway would ever give me a reason to go back, but these look awesome! ETA: Annndddd, nowhere near me of course. Can someone in one of those areas let us know what the milkshakes are like?
  • Welcome! Here's a not-so-brief list to get you started. * Read the stickies (most helpful posts) at the top of the forums (really helped me hone in on what I was supposed to be doing, and realize how hard I was initially making it for myself):…
  • I didn't get it either. OP, you might want to post this in the Goal: Gaining Weight forum to get more traction https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/goal-gaining-weight

  • I usually keep some apples or other fruit available for my sweet cravings. Works about 50% of the time :) The other 50% I just eat the cookie (my problem is oreos) because I've added a few oreos into my day already. I just automatically add three oreos to my day everyday and, if I don't eat them, it means I can have SIX…

  • Right?? I've had an MFP account for eight years and I've learned more in the last few months I've been active on the forums than I had for the past decade almost. Lots of smart, helpful people here and countless success stories.
  • MFP has been so wonderful. I feel like I finally understand how weight loss actually works, and it's helped me to follow a WOE (way of eating) I can stick to in the long term. I'm never "dieting" again :)

  • This. I'd like to feel less self conscious during the boom-boom times.

  • If you ate a ton of salty food (amazing, delicious, salty goodness), you're probably retaining a bunch of water. It usually takes me 2-5 days after an overfeed for my body to get back to normal. You haven't undone the progress you've made, so don't beat yourself up. Just get back to normal and remember this is a long-term…
