  • Welcome. There are lots of great resources to help you on your way. Check out the stickies (most helpful posts) at the top of the forum boards. Great, to-the-point info to help you cut through the BS and avoid many of the pitfalls people make when they first start out. Helped me a lot when I first logged on to MFP. Here…
  • Congrats on your success and new approach! I agree with you that MFP is kind of amazing. It has helped me so much! I edited your post just a little because I think that's what you meant to say, right?
  • You can create a new food for yourself. If you're on a computer, go to food, create a food, and enter the information. It'll say something like, "Are you sure this isn't a duplicate?" and then you can click, nope, this is not a duplicate and enter the info there. I believe Panera's website allows you to customize the…
  • Conspiratorial whispering. My managers at my last job did this all the time. They were an item so we could never be sure if they were whispering about firing someone or just about where they were going to have dinner that night.

  • Welcome back! There are lots of great resources to help you on your way again. Check out the stickies (most helpful posts) at the top of the forum boards. Great, to-the-point info to help you cut through the BS and avoid many of the pitfalls people make when they first start out or, in your case, return. Helped me a lot…

  • Perhaps the Ikea EKTORP, but certainly not the GRÖNLID
  • Welcome. Sounds like you've got some serious motivation. You don't want to restrict your diet a great deal, because that can lead to burnouts and binges. Overly restricting yourself has the potential to make you miserable and, therefore, more likely to abandon your progress after a while (I'm speaking from experience). Did…
  • My thighs look like the surface of the moon... but they're smaller than they were, so that's good. The older I get, the less I care what people think of my "lunar legs" because, as @quiksylver296 says, they're genetic. I did spend a little money on a good tanning cream though. Helps to minimize the appearance of cellulite,…
  • I'm sorry you're going through this. I've always struggled with depression and I've seen countless therapists over the years. The trick is to find one you like, and who you think is genuinely a good fit for you. It sounds like you've seen a fair few of counselors, but maybe you should keep trying them to find one you trust…
  • Good luck! You can do this :)
  • These looked kind of weird and gross, but I thought I'd give them a go. They kind of taste like cereal. Not bad. Picked them up at Ollie's (crappy overstock store mostly on the East coast of the US)

  • Hi there. Welcome. Try not to compare yourself or your own journey to other women. Just because someone is thin, it doesn't mean they're happy. Lots of people believe that, if they could only lose weight, their lives will fall into place and happiness will come naturally. Unfortunately, that's almost never the case. You…

  • Based on the info you've provided throughout the thread, it seems like there's a chance you might be taking in more calories than you realize. This article really helped me when I was trying to really understand how much I was eating: http://physiqonomics.com/eating-too-much/ It's blunt but really genuinely helpful (and,…

  • Eating foods that are less calorie-dense means you can eat a lot more, and those foods often turn out to be full of good stuff (fiber, vitamins, minerals, etc.) The most important part is logging everything you eat (everything...vitamin gummies, coffee creamer, oils you cook with, etc.) and staying within your calorie…
  • One or even a few higher-than-normal days will not undo the progress you've made. Read this, give yourself a break, and go back to eating normally: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10603949/big-overfeed-ruins-everything-nope/p1

  • Hi Grace! Welcome! Here's a not-so-brief list to get you started. * Read the stickies (most helpful posts) at the top of the forums (really helped me hone in on what I was supposed to be doing, and realize how hard I was initially making it for myself):…
  • Artificial sweeteners aren't bad. They're a great way to sweeten things without added calories, and they aren't unhealthy. I use sugar-free coffee creamer because it's less caloric than regular (and NOT because sugar is evil).
  • Read this. It's to the point (no kid gloves), but it's extremely helpful and informative: http://physiqonomics.com/eating-too-much/
