You need protein to build muscle and to maintain the muscle you already have. That's why people who work out make sure they get enough protein. You also need it to function, the same way you need carbohydrates and fat.

I personally don't like beef or pork (besides lean ham), so I tend to stick to lean chicken, turkey, and LOTS of seafood. :)

If it's plain I love to add a packet of stevia, some cinnamon and sliced banana or berries. The flavored ones are awesome, too. I like adding mixed nuts to those :)

The only things I drink besides plain water are: water with natural fruit flavorings (blueberries, strawberries, lemons, etc mixed into it) tea (any kind) the occasional water with crystal light soy milk (light, plain) protein shakes and coffee.

I've been eating roughly 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat since the beginning of this year. I've definitely noticed that I've put on some muscle, and also lost about 4 lbs.

Stop yourself from waking up to begin with. Look up ways to sleep better. Make sure you don't consume any caffeine late in the day. Do everything you can to get to sleep and stay asleep. If you have insomnia problems, ask your doctor to prescribe some medication.

I log almost everything before I eat it because 95% of the time, everything I eat has been prepared and measured by me. Throughout the week I make my lunch the night before, so I usually go ahead and plan out my breakfast and a snack beforehand. My post workout meal is always the same thing, so I log it beforehand, too.…

Surprisingly, the Chicken Parmesan Hoagie half is very close to my requirements... hmmm. I would feel like crap if I order a pizza and only eat one slice. My bf probably wouldn't like what I order and wouldn't finish it for me, so I'd be pressured to eat more. No bueno date manners. Maybe I'll just stick with a salad.

I don't eat dairy unless it's nonfat, 1% or 2%. There's just so much saturated fat in dairy unless it's low- or no-fat. With that being said, I used to be vegan, and I found that cutting dairy out completely made me feel AWESOME. Thank you, I am very dedicated to it. I know I can't out train a bad diet- but I don't have a bad diet. 95% of the time my diet is nearly perfect, but of course I slip up sometimes. I'm only human. Can you explain "spike days" to me? I've heard about those and I'm curious what they're for.

I thought I had fully recovered from bulimia last summer, but I still relapse sometimes. I've just gotten out of a daily binge/purge cycle that lasted 2 weeks, which is the worse relapse I've had. My binges and purges are compulsive/impulsive, so it's really hard to stop myself. I'll walk into the kitchen with the intent…

I have a love/hate relationship with running. I hate it because how badly it hurts my shins, feet, knees and ankle joints, but I love it because running is something I never thought I could do- and when I do it, it's like slapping my doubts in the face!
