Congrats on the forthcoming wedding.. bet you are SO excited? 8 inches is a hell of lot to lose in a short time span and I don't think it is realistic (that is just my opinion). Not sure how much you have to lose, but why don't you have a restricted cal intake of say 1200 for the period and do exercise too? However much…

Good on you Chris for doing something about losing weight. I think the biggest hurdle we have to overcome is to stop denying we have a problem, only then can we go forward. I have lost over 112 lbs. I am truly grateful for the wonderful support I have received from friends on here. Just make sure you log everything and I…

I enjoy a Barcardi & Coke and I have one whenever I fancy... I just ensure it is included in my diary and that I do not go over my calorie allowance. I have lost over 114bs without giving up the old drinky poos!! We have to remember this isn't about being on a diet.. it's about changing our eating habits for the long term.…

Well done you!!! I completed the C25K about 6 weeks ago and ran my first 5k in a Race for Life at Hyde Park in sweltering conditions last weekend. I did it in 42 mins and was so proud of myself as I am not, nor never will be a runner, more of a trotter. I would never have thought that I would go out for a trot 3 x per week…

Publisher has calendar templates... you can chose your design, add your own photo etc... Have fun:smile:

You certainly do not need to lose any more weight... as others have said maybe some toning. I think we are our own worst enemies as we often strive for the unattainable... yes, we can lose weight and yes we can tone up.. but will we ever achieve our ideal body shape... I don't thinks so. Sue

Personally, I do not eat my exercise calories back. I work so hard burning them off, why the hell would I go through that for nothing!!! That's just me... others view it differently!

Hello, If you don't mind a nutty moo:wink: from Hertfordshire, please feel free to add me. Sue

We will only ever lose weight if WE want to.. No one else can do it for us.. I don't view it as being on a diet, more of a change of eating habits, portion control and exercise. Life is too short to exclude things we like,... everything in moderation. For me, I have to log everything I have and it is now second nature to…

I know just how you feel as I have been on the receiving end of barbed comments about weight. The biggest hurdle to overcome is how you react. Whatever you do, you should do it for YOU - not for anyone else. Often these people who make these comments aren't exactly role models themselves. Try and not take it too heart -…

Log absolutely EVERYTHING... even when it has been a bad day!

Morning, I have lost 80lbs since January 2012 and have 4lbs to go to reach my goal weight and then I will re-assess. For me, logging everything has become a way of life and I will continue to do so to ensure I keep on the straight and narrow. It is all too easy to 'forget' something that we have stuffed in our mouth. Sue

I think it is all down to personal preference and what works for you. Maybe you could try and amalgamate the two? Personally, I didn't get to grips with Slimming World as I didn't want to have to have different meals from the rest of the family, so calorie counting works for me. I also need to track my food as it is way to…

Hi I'm from Bushey Heath near Watford. Been on here since January this year and the support you get from great pals on this site is the key to ensuring this actually works. If you don't mind a nutty middle aged friend, feel free to add me. Sue

I'm not as technical as Ayesha so my post will be boring!! Am just going to increase duration time of swimming and walking by 5 mins per day - difficult to increase any more because of time constructions with work. What I shall also do is increase speed too:smile:

Hi there, You're just up the road from me... we are in Bushey Heath (just south of Watford). I know what you mean about the support here.. it is the key thing that makes such a difference as, after all, we are all in the same boat. Been on here since January this year ( I know typical bloody New Year's Resolution) but this…
