  • I have a personal trainer that I have been working with for years! He's a very attractive man and my husband has never had a problem with him. In fact he's become a great friend to both of us. I've heard this from people at my gym who have personal trainers too, their significant other accuses them of cheating. I think…
  • Congrats on reaching the "magic number" that you set your sights on. Next stop, body sculpting and maintenance. Some people say this point is the hard part because you have to adjust your approach to training and mindset to maintaining your weight. Good luck on your new journey!!
  • I agree...however since I'm terrible at secrets I'd probably tell the cheatee while the cheater was standing right next to them. My husband says I have not tact....it's totally intentional!
  • This^^^ I mix as well, if you deny yourself something you'll only binge later on. In the begining I totally restricted what I ate, after I reach a certain point I started to reintroduce food that I loved (properly portioned now) but always overate. I wouldn't totally eat 1200 calories of junk in a day and think that was…
  • Some spouses are clueless! Just tell him how you feel and maybe find some receips of things that you both like but try for a healthier verison. Maybe he'll enjoy those as much as full on cheesecake... which is like kryptonite to me so you are my s-hero for not caving and eating the entire cake!!
  • Love True Blood...actually panting in anticipation.....
  • ^^This...or somewhere really cold with lots of snow so Alaska is totally out!
  • ^^This too! Same here! My hubby is the BEST even when I'm at my worst, he still loves me...LOL
  • ^^This!! and the one about buying two 16oz sodas to make up for the banned 32oz...another way to get more "tax" money!!
  • 176!! That's outside of my maintenance range. The panic starts to set in!!!
  • I usually go to the gym in the evenings (after work) so I don't shower before I go, however I do freshen up. I train with a group of women and I don't want to be the smelly one! When I do get a chance to work out in the morning, I usually do shower before I go; but only because the shower helps wake me up!
  • Love the Danskin brand at Walmart...they even have ones with underwire for like $10!
  • I've worked with a couple of different trainers since I started to focus on getting healthy (back in 2006). I love my current trainer and have been with him for the last two years. He keeps me movtivated and committed to hitting the gym regularly. On top of that, we have group training so I work with a group of women who…
  • This. ^^^ I eat when I'm bored or really tired but I've found that planning my meals and snacks helps ALOT! I also stagger my meals so I'm never truly hungery, but if I must reach for something else, it's usually tea.
  • Welcome...maybe you are implementing drastic changes to soon or setting unrealistic goals that are not consistant with your lifestyle. What do you hope to get out of being on the site, what would you like to accomplish?
  • I'm 5' 11" and my goal weight range is 170 - 175...I started out at 306 lbs and wearing a size 26. I am now 168 lbs! So I've been re-evaluating my ideal range because I'm toning up and losing inches. I live in New York and am currently rocking a size 12!
  • Same as above. I like to plan out the day, and make adjustments when necessary. It helps to keep me focused. :glasses:
  • 5' 11" size 12 (even a 10 in some cases) and I'm 168 lbs. Original shirt, dress and pants size 24/26 top weight 306 lbs.
  • This....    :noway: :noway:
  • Sounds like your mother calls it how she sees it, and doesn't hold her tounge! I love her already!! Seriously if you are meeting someone's parent you should dress respectfully. You don't have to dress like a nun but come on use a little common sense. By the way I LOVE my Mother-in-law! And we have a great relationship and…
  • 1) Egg whites 2) Cereal 3) Thomas thin bagels 4) fish 5) chicken 6) ground turkey 7) broccolli 8) Almond milk 9) Special K 100 calorie bars 10) zuccini
  • Wow, I had a similar experience and feel the same way. Whenever I get a smaller portion or order healthy food around people who didn't know me "before" they always make comments about the contents of my plate. Once an addict, always an addict and I am very aware of what and how I eat. I just shake my head and say "I use to…
  • Boy I know how you feel! Rest days! What are those? LOL I usually put in some form of cardio for about an hour, even if it's just walking. Slap on the heart rate monitor and go for a brisk walk at 20 minute intervals during the day.
  • I'm usually more movitvated by compliments. I guess this is a "mindset" that you have to actively change. Knowing that you do this is half the battle.
  • Great teeth, confidence, personality, height (I like tall guys so sue me) and great biceps help too!
  • That's awful! I love my PT, he is awesome-ness personified! He pushes all his clients with the workouts. Kicks it up when necessary and also consults on our food. I've been working with him for a while and just meeting with him helps me stay on track. Boredom isn't a problem either because the man has got an imagination…
  • Just plain WOW! Inspiration for all! I love how you did it without a gym. I keep telling a relative of mine that she doesn't need a gym to lose weight, she just needs to clean up her eating habits AND move around. Great Job! Thanks for posting.
  • I always thought I would make my kids eat what I ate just like my mother, but I was so wrong!!! LOL. As a matter of fact, my husband is the primary "chef" at dinner time and he's on this site too, so most of the time we have healthy meals. That said she still loves her chicken fingers and french fries!! But I have found…
  • Agreed! Plus the reason behind the behavior won't change because the parent isn't present. Another angle would be to look at the parent's life style. If healthy eating, activity and movement aren't done by the parents, then they won't be done by the child.
  • It's a general fact that the seat hurt no matter what size you are. It's all about the instructor though, if you have a good one then you'll forget all about the uncomfortableness. So go ahead and give it a try!!! Even if you don't finish the class you can see if you like it and do if for a long as you can. Eventually…
