HIIT for me together with good diet was what kicked off my weightloss. Walking never gave me the same effect. But I think it is important to remember what HIIT is, you really have to work very very hard for the 20 minutes or so that you do it. Today most of my training is more or less HIIT and my strenght, endurance and…

I try to eat around 0.8-1g protein/lbs bodyweight. I work out hard, so I need it. But don't worry about eating too much protein, make sure you don't eat too much carbs! You can change the preset macros, because as previous posters said they are very low .

Mine is open. My macros are set for 40%carbs, 30%fat and 30% protein. I try to eat about 0.8-1g protein/lbs body weight I don't log my water. I love checking other peoples diaries to get inspiration!

The scale is not important, measure your body! Strength training is very good for you!
-
I LOVE CrossFit and like above posters said, it can be scaled to whatever level you are at. Have fun!!

White bread, white pasta, and things with too much sugar.

Physique!!! I haven't reached my goal weight, but I don't care about that anymore. I am so much stronger than I ever was before, I run faster, I lift heavier and my body looks better than it did 20 years ago before three kids and I was less weight :)

I don't agree, because running and walking is not using the same technique and muscles this is from runnersworld.com "When you walk, you keep your legs mostly straight, and your center of gravity rides along fairly smoothly on top of your legs. In running, we actually jump from one foot to the other. Each jump raises our…

Strength training, running, loosing weight, good diet and plenty of water. No cellulite anymore, happened in less than 6 months, took a lot of hard work but it is worth it!
-
I set mine for 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein, and I never care if I go over the protein and fat, but the carbs I'm more careful with! I aim for about 0.8-1g protein per lbs body weight.

I really like the Oh yeah bars, but a shake is a better option....less calories and more protein! http://weightlossandtraining.com/best-protein-bars (now I posted the right link...)

I bet it was :)

Well, I obviously can't say for sure the muscles weren't there before. That is very unlikely though since I hadn't worked out AT ALL for about 20 years and when I started losing weight I started working out and lifting weights a real lot and my strength improved extremely much from not being able to do hardly anything to…

If you feel you REALLY need to eat at night, why not try a cup of green tea instead? Other things that works for me is to eat berries (I microwave frozen berries and when they are warm they seem to help fight the cravings better), a protein shake (low calorie!), some unsweetened greek yoghurt or cottage cheese.

Agree with this to some extent. I have managed to gain muscle and lose weight at the same time, but maybe me being overweight to start with made it easier? @fpacudan very off topic but that pizza slice just triggered some serious cravings...

Interesting, I followed your instructions in your blog to see how much I should eat and it turns out that if I would eat back all my exercise calories I would be eating too much... How I eat and exercise now I'm at a projected weightloss of about 0.5lbs a week according to Katch-McArdle, and according to MFP if I would eat…

For me 1200 works fine, and I don't eat back all my exercise calories so sometimes my net even ends up below 1200. But not looking at net calories I usually eat around 1600-1800 cals a day. You're at a quite low weight now, so I don't think you can expect any great loss every week... maybe you gain muscle and lose inches?
-
@whitneyannabee you're very beautiful!
-
@reddevil29 You look younger than your age (I took a look at your profile and photos) and you have a very cute daughter!! You have done a great start to your weight loss journey, keep up the good work!!
-
First of all I think you should eat more. What should you eat more of? My suggestion is much more protein, that's really good for you since you want to gain more muscle. Try to aim for about 0.8-1g per lbs body weight. Eat lean meat, chicken turkey, eggs, protein shakes, protein bars, quinoa, bulgur etc. And don't be…

No need to panic! Like other posters mentioned our body weight is fluctuating all the time. Another thing people mentioned is possible water retention in your muscles from starting to work out again.Did your muscles feel sore after your workouts this past week? I I don't care so much about the scale, check the inches lost…

Use the thinner 35lbs bar and try different grips if you haven't. Maybe over-under?
-
Another thing, make sure you have good shoes for lifting. When they differ to much in height between toe and heel I tend to get the weight on my toes instead, so try to find shoes with zero drop or at least very little.
-
Agree, that's how I (try to)do it too.
-
If you want to lose weight you have to remember sugar is sugar no matter where it comes from. Fruit is good for you in many different ways, but you still have to be very careful and not eat too much if you want to lose weight. Eat berries instead.

Bump I'll definitely try this!

I bought a lot along the way and it was such a waste of money! Now when I'm where I want to be, I feel guilty spending more on clothes.... But for me some skirts and dresses tend to fit ok both a size up and down. While pants don't. It gets pretty expensive when you need everything new... so the goodwill is probably not a…
