Ankle - 11.25 inches Calves- 17.25 inches I don't like my ankles either :( But if they are near average, that is something at least! lol

I have been big all my life as well. When I was quite active in early pre-teen years doing sports, i think i weighed about 170-180lbs. That is why I made my goal weight 175 lbs- that is the smallest I can imagine myself being at this point. But I haven't been under 200lbs for a long time. I do remember being a size 16 when…

i cook for myself and my husband, and yes there are normally leftovers. with two people I don't find it too bad usually - after we have the meal, I judge how much is left. If there is enough for another meal that week I will do that, or else we may just take the extras for lunches. I actually try to cook for 4-6 portions…

Your story sounds similar to mine before i rejoined MFP and starting getting back into control of what I was eating. Feel free to add me :)

I don't know why people need to eat at the movies? Anyway I just have a water if I am thirsty. Eat beforehand and you won't feel tempted to buy the super expensive food there.

I think it depends on your body build. i have a friend who is a size 0 and she looks perfectly healthy and strong. Personally I am looking forward to being in a size 14-16 for starters...as that way I should be able to shop at most stores. Being limited on the stores I can shop in is no fun and means that often I can't…

Thank you! Congratulations on your weight on inches lost so far. That is a good point. I should remember to measure myself in the morning, rather than just after lunch as i did here.
-
That makes sense. Thank you!

Thank you for the reply! I weigh myself daily too. I find it motivating, and also helps me know whether a lower weight is a 'true' lower weight or not (rather than just a scale fluctuation). I do not record a weight loss on mfp until i see that number (or lower) on the scale a few days in a row.

Yes- i would suggest trying to eat more. ON days when i miss breakfast (this does happen too often for me) - i am not even hungry by the time lunch comes around. Then i get ravenous around supper. On days when I have a small breakfast, i feel ravenous a few hours later as i didn't eat enough but I still 'broke the fast'…

It looks like you might not be eating enough in the morning. I would try eating a more substantial breakfast. Morning is when we need lots of food!

we have the same goal weight :)

I am 5'5 and my goal weight right now is 175 lbs. I haven't been that weight since I was around 12 years old. Once I get there, I can reassess and see if I want to lose more or not- but for now even getting to 175 seems quite the accomplishment (that will be over 100lbs lost for me).
-
how many pounds/week did you say you wanted to lose?
-
I think it would be a better strategy to eat more earlier on in the day, because then you will be able to burn off what you ate through activities during the day. So i would say, eat a hearty breakfast and lunch, and a lighter supper...and if you are having a dessert definitely split it! I think a couple of big supper…

if you are always active at your job, i don't think the right approach is adding it as exericse, i would change your 'normal daily activity' level under your diet profile to whatever is more appropriate (active or very active).

Its kind of a lot of work, but when i go to a buffet or out to dinner (to somewhere that doesn't have nutrition information) i try my best to log what i ate on here. I went to a buffet this morning, check out my food diary if you like. I felt like i didn't eat very much at all, compared to what i would have eaten…

1. Bullseye BBQ sauce 2. Lemon and Lime Juice 3. Horseradish Mustard 4. Sweet onion mustard 5. Soy sauce

wow congratulations on the 60lb loss! fitting better into seats is definitely something to look forward to! can't wait!
-
That is very true :) congrats on your fantastic weight loss!

congratulations on your fantastic weight loss!!! i like your point about overcoming powerlessness. i look forward to that :)

I think this is what people may be bothered with most from the OP - not that she is happy with her body image (that is great! positivity is good ) , and not that feeling better is her goal rather than losing weight. To me this sentence I quoted sounds like the OP does not want to do anything to try to improve her health. I…

I would love to have some new friends on MFP. My food diary is open and I try to come onto MFP each day.

If I want sugar, I use real sugar (white sugar, brown sugar, or honey). I do not ever use artificial sweeteners, nor do I buy any products with them in it.

how inspiring! i feel like we started at a similar place so this gives me hope of what can be accomplished in a year. great job!!!
-
that is very true. the last thing i want to do is to gain more weight and end up at my heaviest ever. i still can't believe i gained so much weight back the first time. i wish i could go back and tell myself that being stuck at 229lbs is just fine! i also think you are right about adjusting mentally. i went to a buffet…
-
Definitely true. That is one reason I set my end goal at 175 lbs. I will re-evaluate when I get there. But to me this weight is so far away from being a reality that it would be amazing to get there. But you are right, small short term goals are important too. I started again here at ~269 lbs. Goal one is below 265 lbs…

very true. :)
-
great idea of visualizing! i think that will help. i also know the more weight i lose, the easier it will be to exericse-less weight to carry around! i felt so much lighter on my feet after losing 50lbs last go around. thanks :)

i didn't read through all the replies...but i would suggest stop putting cheese on sandwiches. honestly i can not tell if the sandwich has cheese in it or not most of the time, and that saves around 100 cal for a slice of cheese plus the fat. just a suggestion :) and no i don't always follow this rule :)
