Leftovers?

I had this tonight:

It was delicious. Should have halved the recipe, 'cause now I have 7 servings to eat all by my lonesome. Om nom nom.
Do you find you have a lot more leftovers since making changes to your diet? I used to never have leftovers for more than a day or so because I'd always eat them, even when I was still living by myself!

Can you freeze it for another day? I always try it makes things easy when I don't have time to cook.0

Well, it might freeze well. I'll freeze a few of them for later in the week and refrigerate the rest - that way, if they don't turn out, only a few were sacrificed. I only make one meal a week, and just eat leftovers, but usually there's only a couple extra servings. xD0

Yes and no.
Now that I actually know what a portion size is I try to make only enough for 2 meals or so. Before I would just make a huge amount of something and eat 2-3 serving sizes at a time. I would have a lot of leftovers but I would also eat them quickly because I had a complete disregard for what I was putting into my body.0 -
It depends. Most of the time I portion out the food before cooking then plate the food in the kitchen before serving. When I do that, there are no leftovers.
Other times I use the recipe feature and do the math to determine the gram or ounce weight of a serving of the dish I cooked (generally determine pre-cooked weight to determine portions, then weigh the dish after it is cooked and divide the cooked weight by the number of servings determined from the pre-cooked weight. Takes an extra couple minutes, but it makes things accurate. I have an 11 pound capacity digital scale). In that case, there are lots of leftovers, and I weigh the food each time I eat it.
I love leftovers, and the extra steps make me not afraid of cooking big meals and eating leftovers while trying to lose or maintain.0 -
I tend to buy quick fix microwave stuff for sides that come in single servings - then i just make the meat count that i want at time of dinner.
like uncle ben's ready rice bowls - and steam veg bags - etc.
only time i tried the make a batch and freeze some for later method - i did hamburger helper, and the noodles were NASTAY upon thaw out lol. like - i salt and peppered 'em - but i couldn't choke it down. NASTAY blech. so either i jacked something up, or i don't know what - but i never tried the freeze for later method again lol.
since you're just cooking for you (like me) - maybe single serving bags of stuff would help on the leftover quota.0 -
I always cook extra, as my son likes to forage for a second dinner most nights. He's 5'11" and weighs 135, so I encourage him to eat as much healthy food as he wants. Generally speaking, I've never been a big fan of leftovers, so I tend to not cook excess of one or two extra portions for him, unless it's something that freezes really nicely.0

i cook for myself and my husband, and yes there are normally leftovers. with two people I don't find it too bad usually - after we have the meal, I judge how much is left. If there is enough for another meal that week I will do that, or else we may just take the extras for lunches. I actually try to cook for 4-6 portions on purpose so I have leftovers0

I typically plan on leftovers for lunches - I rarely buy anything specifically for lunch anymore!0

I don't have more leftovers then before. But that's because I measure when I cook. If there were leftovers, my discipline would deflate and, knowing myself, I'd be munching on whatever was left over if not packed and safely put away to freezer asap. So, I rather measure when cooking so as not to have leftovers.0
