  • Thanks everyone! I think we are going to the city on Friday, so I'm going to suck it up, take a few dollars from the emergency fund (because obviously this counts as an emergency LOL) and just do the running store thing and let them fit me. I'll bite the cost now, and save down the road (no pun intended lol)
  • Thanks for the link! They recommended the Brooks Addiction 10 shoes. They are "Control" shoes, and I was right about being flat footed and overpronating...The store I went to doesn't have Brooks brand, so I wonder if I should order some online, or find a different brand based on what I know now. Otherwise I'll have to wait…
  • Yes because that is EXACTLY what I said. What numbers are you talking about? You really think you had over 16lbs of glycogen? Or are you saying you lost 67 pounds in just a week? Because It's pretty obvious I'm talking about the 6-12lbs that the average person will lose within the first week or so of restricting…
  • Do you have a link? I'm about 80% sure I overpronate and have flat feet, just based on everything I've read. Based on that I think I need motion control shoes, but I'd like to try that tool too.
  • I called for prices and I just can't get over how high they are. The same Asics I got for $50 are $85 there. There probably is no way to get around it though. Ugh. I can't just figure out my feet type from researching it and trial and error?
  • Oo!! Congrats! I can't wait until I have that hole between my thighs!!
  • Anytime you limit carbs, your body uses up its glycogen stores. Each molecule of glycogen has 3 or 4 molecules of water, which means if you have 2 pounds of glycogen, then you have 6-8lbs of "water weight". Anything that drops that fast is usually water weight, especially in the beginning of a diet like that. As soon as…
  • A) How old were you when you got engaged? Me: 17 Him: 28 B)How long had we been together before becoming engaged? 6.5 Months (got married 1.5 months later) C)How old were we when we got married? Me: 17 Him: 28 D)Still together? (If so how long?) Yup. Will be our 4 year wedding anniversary in June.
  • I don't count gum, I don't count pickles when I occasionally have one (I don't care much about my sodium because I'm usually way under anyway), I don't count spices, and I don't count the green or blue fruit snacks I eat from my kid's pouch (the poor child only gets the red and oranges one because the others are MINE!…
  • Congrats!! I'm down to 198 today too! It feels amazing to be under 200!
  • I've been doing this unintentionally. I will not eat anything until about 2 in the afternoon, then I just don't really stop eating until I run outta calories or go to bed, whichever comes first. If I don't eat anything in the morning, I don't get hungry until much later. I had tried eating a breakfast each morning, but…
  • I'm saving for an air popper, but in the meantime, I eat Pop Weaver Light Butter made with Canola Oil - it is only 230 calories for the entire bag, and the "light butter" is just enough!
  • I use a postal scale because it's what I already had. LOL. It's definitely accurate and it only cost me $20!
  • Only if you eat that day. Totally kidding. It doesn't matter when you exercise or eat.
  • Most boxes have the calories of the mix only. A box of German Chocolate Cake mix that I have has 2040 calories in it (12 servings at 170 each serving, cake mix only). I don't have FunFetti Flavour, but I'm sure it will have the calories for the mix only too.
  • I thought the myth was to not go swimming for an hour after eating? lol
  • Besides EVERYTHING, I'd say one of the biggest shockers was the Bisquick waffles I used to make. I'd have 2 for breakfast (over 500 calories EACH), slather them in peanut butter (probably half a cup on EACH waffle...so like roughly 600-700 calories on EACH waffle), and then pour fake maple syrup on it (you know, the stuff…
  • I know the feeling! I can throw down half a pizza easily. So I had to have an alternative, because there is no way I can only eat 1 or 2 pieces. So...my alternative is making my own pizza, and getting to eat half of it within my calories. I use Jiffy Pizza Crush mix, 1/2 cup cheese, a little sauce, and loads of onions,…
  • I am starting level 2 tomorrow. I decided I was going to keep it within 30 days, because in March I'm starting C25k, 200 Sit-Up Challenge, and 100 Push-Up Challenge. I had to take 2 days off, so my week 1 was only 5 days, but I'm feeling great and ready for level two!
  • Oooo...I'm fitting THAT in on Friday!
  • I was fat before I was married, but I got fatter once I was married. My husband did the cooking the first couple years of marriage (it's how our schedule worked out), and he likes to make very calorie dense food - biscuits and gravy, pancakes slathered in peanut butter, etc. and I chose to eat it. We both "let ourselves…
  • I don't even eat my "breakfast" until after noon. I haven't eaten yet today, and it's 1:20, I'm simply not hungry, however, once I DO eat breakfast, I really don't stop eating until I go to bed. Lol. I usually have breakfast at noon, Snack at 1, lunch at about 2, sometimes another snack, and dinner at 5, then snack until I…
  • That sounds delicious! And it made up my mind for dinner tonight! I'm having pizza! (homemade though, so I can eat half a pizza and still be within my calorie goals! LOL) Anyways, don't beat yourself up too much. It's not like it's an everyday thing, so you'll be fine. I had a "spike day" yesterday, and ate nachos and hot…
  • Well I'm a believer! I did end up doing a little exercise last night, so I ended the day a little over 700 over my goal. I weighed a few minutes ago, and I'm DOWN 2 pounds!! *happy dance*
  • Next week is gonna be tricky - it's my daughter's first birthday, but we are celebrating it twice (once with only a little family, and once with a TON of family and random people my MIL invited. lol) But I think I'll be able to stick to 1 little piece of cake each day!
  • Welllll....so my husband made nachos...and how could I NOT eat nachos while watching the Superbowl? lol. So I ended the day at 940 something over. I'd love to wake up tomorrow and find I dropped even an ounce. This morning I saw the exact same numbers I had last week, and it was disappointing! MFP told me I would have…
  • @foremant86 I want to try that...but I'm so afraid to! My BMR is 1350, and I eat 1310 each day (plus 200 for nursing my toddler), but I also always eat my exercise calories back...so I'm afraid if I double that, I just won't have a calorie deficit anymore for that week.
  • Cool. That's what I'm at for today. I've seen some threads where people are eating double their calorie goal, but that just seems like it would undo everything, at least in my case.
  • Anyone? I normally eat 1500 calories a day (includes 200 for nursing though).
  • 1. Almond milk (currently Vanilla - sweetened, original - sweetened, and original - unsweetened) 2. Cheese (currently a block of swiss, a ton of colby jack mini blocks for the baby, string cheese, American cheese slices, 2% shredded Cheddar, a block of mozzarella, a block of extra sharp cheddar, real shaved parmesan,…
