Pretty darn spetacular!! I'm such a fan of the weights - I noticed more changes in a shorter period of time doing stronglifts than I have anything else. My weight hasn't changed but boy, I fit into clothes I haven't in quite some time. You are such an amazing inspiration - glad you're my friend on here :)

I'll have to look into that! I just hate spending money on stuff - I'm such a cheapskate!!

I started doing stronglifts almost 2 months ago - the time difference is a little less than a month - same weight, but have gone down a pants size and even those are getting baggy. Was wearing an 18/16 and am now in a 14 and could probably fit in some 12's right now.

Thanks everyone...I really need to invest in earbuds and a shuffle at the gym, I just haven't needed to until this point. I also updated my profile picture cause you can really see the difference since I started doing stronglifts. It's about a months difference - and that's with the addition of doing push-ups and planks…

I'm of the mentality - don't knock it till you've tried it. He had never even heard of strong lifts. While he was telling me that it won't do anything either....I was in the middle of doing my bench press. When I started SL I had a hard time with 25, today I was doing 62, which I also kept doing while he was talking. Which…

Thanks....He totally bashed women lifting heavy and doing stronglifts....he's like 5 reps??? That won't do anything, you need more reps and lighter weights!!! The whole conversation with him was pointless, he was set in his frame of mind and wasn't going to change his opinion. I did call the manager, too, the moment I got…

I have a problem holding the bar across my shoulders (I have very small shoulders) for squats, so I do a sumo squat and use the handweights. At my gym those go up to well over 100 lbs, so I can keep going up 5 lbs and not worry about loading or carrying the weight on my shoulders.

I'm a huge fan of Zumba - because I get more sweaty than I have ever been doing it. Perhaps it's the instructor I have, but she seriously kicks your butt. No babies in our class! My friend wore a HRM and she burned 650 calories in our session - I believe it. I've definitely lost weight doing it. I also recommend the right…

You look amazing!!!! And you are such an inspiration!!! Glad that I'm party of your journey,at least for this part :) You can do it!!!

Game on!

You look fantastic!!! I do stronglifts 5x5, too, and I love how it makes me feel! You are a total inspiration and motivation to keep up with it! I agree on how weights give you more curves not take away - My waist has become more apparent since I've started lifting weights. Plus it's such a high when you can lift heavier…

I've read the book when it came out and also attempted the diet for a couple months. I did not see any significant change in body mass (muscle or fat) and actually found that the binge day that it tells you to do actually set me back more than anything. I eventually gave up on and am now just counting calories and…

Huh..Thinking I'm not eating enough based on what you ladies are saying.....I am trying to lift 2-3X a week plus maintain 3 days of Cardio, I have found that I have been exhausted the last week. Perhaps it's not enough calories??? Not enough protein??? Way to go to all of you though!

Dude, I gotta....I want to be hot at my wedding!!!!
-
Me!!!!! It's a little snug in the belly yet - so trying to wittle that part down. I'm getting married 2/23/13.

I also asked the trainer at my gym what the slow times are for the weights - I make a point of going during the super slow times so I don't have to deal with people. Also, if someone is near the rack I'll just ask them if they were using it and so far they have only said no. I get funny looks, cause I seem to be the only…

Thanks for sharing :) I know it's not easy to do that!!! I just can't believe how much I'm eating and that some of the weight is starting to come off.
-
Great job!!! That's a huge accomplishment!!!

I thought of some more!!! beans! I love beans! Cannelini with tomatoes is great together, toss with some fresh basil. Or else you could do pintos with some lime and garlic if you're having mexican, even if you're not! Lentils are another great rich in fiber and protein addition - I like cooking them in chicken stock and…

agree on the roasted!!! Though I've been making cauliflower mashed "potatoes" lately - so easy! I microwave them till tender and pop them in my food processor, add some parmesan and almond or skim milk and boom, good to go! Salt and Pepper to your delight - so good and it makes a ton. Otherwise there's always sweet…

You should check out pinterest - they are a great resource for entertaining ideas, especially healthy ones. I would say, too, if you do the hummus - one of my favorite dishes recently is roasted veggies (peppers, carrots, onions) that accompanied the homemade hummus, it was seriously delicious!!! What about buffalo…

Well after a weekend of higher calorie - mixing up the exercise a little and tons more protein, I have finally seen the scale drop! It was only a lb but it wasn't a .5 lbs or whatever it was a full stinking pound!!! So I"m a happy monkey today.

Definitely not giving up the weight training!!! I'm thinking yoga may have to be sacrificed though....in lieu of spinning perhaps. I've never heard of HIIT workouts, I shall use my friend google to find out more. I think I'll also purchase a lovely tape measure as well. I completely concur on the scale not being my friend,…

Thanks all - I tried running cause I used to and I really like it, but my knees don't. I've thought of doing the spinning, it's just that my friends do zumba, and I have to say that it's pretty motivating to have friends there and I don't want to give up my weights either. It's sad when you have to schedule in additions…

Dude no neves - we're all good! I just live around 120 lb people who think they need to lose weight. I'm two of them pretty much, so, I hate letting on. Now if we mammals had asexual reproduction - I would totally be at my goal weight by now! I'd be split in two! Alright so I'm a dork. Totally awesome that you upped your…

grapes measured and accounted for. plus they have such great vitamin and anti-oxidant counts....aside from just sugar. Especialy black. Sigh I also greatly regret my ben and jerry's....even though I worked out so much that day and even with that had a crap load of calories left. mcdonalds - haven't had that in weeks, oh…

Yes, I do measure what I eat - I count or else divide the food so I know exactly what the portion size will be. Also for the calories burned - I tend to undercount, and also leave a deficit in my calories for the day to account for anything that may be incorrect. I'm not a half-assed worker-outer, I get sweaty and push…

Can I just say I HATE telling people my weight - which is part of this? Yeah, you know my butt is big, you really need my lbs? So anyway....for the sake of actually losing weight, here we go. Calories: 1420 per MFP and 1 lb weight loss a week Current Weight: 198 Starting Weight (Before MFP tracking): 212 As for…
