Totally agree that exercise has a huge impact.

Seems to me that everyone is different. I could eat a cup of plain steel cut oatmeal and see my blood sugar spike. Bacon and eggs and no problems. I couldn’t believe it at first but the results are consistent and repeatable for me even though others do very well on low GI carbs.

For me it’s 20 grams of carbs per day but it’s worth it and I can still eat well just different.

I went thru a similar thing in June and found my body just didn’t tolerate carbs well. I went Keto at 20 grams of Carbs per day and my blood sugar came down quickly. Every time I cheat on carbs my blood sugar spikes so for past 2 months I’ve been dedicated to Keto and got my 30 day average down to 91 mg/dl.

I do IF basically by skipping breakfast each day. I’m Type 2 Diabetic and on Metformin as well though I have found I don’t tolerate carbs well. I went on Keto at 20 grams of carbs per day. I find this works really well for in terms of managing blood sugar and losing weight. I do have coffee with a TBSP of sugar free…

Do you mix them in the coffee or take them straight with a coffee chaser??? 😂

One of my favorite dishes is I cook 8 oz of chicken thigh in a cast iron skillet with a tbsp of olive oil. I’ll season the chicken with garlic, pepper, sea salt and basil. While this cooking I will microwave a steamable bag of frozen broccoli. I take the steamed broccoli and add to chicken with 1/2 cup of sliced bella…

To my surprise, Butter in coffee isn’t bad, with the frother you can get it properly blended.

Butter in coffee does sound awful to me but I’m going to give it a try.

I may try making my own... good idea

I hope you can figure it out. In our experience we found a few things that seem to help. One is she had some vitamin deficiencies and now takes supplements. They found this in a blood test and I can’t remember which ones but it seems to help. She also had sleep apnea and started sleeping with a breathing machine. Then she…

12 lbs in a month is awesome, congrats. I’m sure the ADA works for some folks but I’m pretty confident that it doesn’t take many carbs to spike my blood sugar. I test after every meal and it seems that blood sugar is directly related to carbs and exercise, mostly carbs. A new restaurant opened in my town and they advertise…

It’s an overnight test in our experience.

My daughter has epilepsy for 10 years. There are many different types of seizures ranging from the violent shaking ones to just staring off into the distance. You really need to see a neurologist and get an ekg to look at brain activity. My understanding is they diagnose epilepsy by brain wave patterns that they use to…

I was was diagnosed Type 2 diabetes a month ago. Blood sugar regularly over 300. Tried the doctor’s diet of 1,500 calories but blood sugar was 175 - 300 and i was eating healthy unprocessed foods. I then decided to have bacon and eggs for breakfast in lieu of my standard plain oatmeal and the result was my first blood…

48, lost 118 lbs in 2011-2012 but in last 4 gained 80 back, getting back on the wagon to eat right and exercise. Lost 12 lbs in last 6 weeks and working to try and keep it going.

I wish I had an answer to this myself. I wear an HRM and have the thing on my watch that has all my data (age, sex, height, weight). Many of the cardio machines at the gym pick up the signal from my chest strap and they also allow me to enter the same data. They are often widely different than my watch and it's…

I wouldn't get terribly caught up in the calories per day. It's really the average net calories over several days or a week that really matters. If I eat more one day then I may eat less the next, sometimes to make up for it or sometimes I'm just not hungry. To lose weight if you can stay under your net goal and accurately…

I also use Endomondo, it seems to work fine. I like that it keeps history and maps my runs. I also like the coach that tells me lap time or total time plus last mile time and it will allow me to compete against previous runs.

Work out during lunch. That's what I do almost every work day. Bring clothes, do a 45 minute workout, clean up and back in an hour. No problem. This way I am assured of a good workout at least 5 days a week and sometimes I'll also get a bike ride or run in the evening (I'm not a morning person but that's always an option…

I have 3 cups of coffee daily and it's with sugar-free creamer. I count the calories but I don't believe it impacts my weight loss. There are some studies that theorize it might help to increase metabolism very slightly, not sure if this is true but if I count the calories then I don't see the problem. It hasn't been a…

I just count calories and stay in a deficit and workout. This has worked well for me and I eat whole wheat bread every day and I use margarine in moderation. Muffins and granola often have lots of calories so I tend to stay away but have had them in moderation. I also have ice cream and chocolate syrup but I make up for it…

My fave is to use Old Fashioned Oatmeal (not that Quick stuff) and then put 1 cup in bowl with a handful of blueberries and a few tsp of Cinnamon, add water to the texture you prefer, stir and then microwave, on my microwave it's 1:55. Stir, add 1/2 cup of skim milk and enjoy. Cooking blueberries in adds sweetness and the…

I'd start by building up some endurance. Take a modest resistance that you can comfortably do but isn't super easy and if you can do it for 15 minutes, then the next day shoot for 17, then try to up it a few minutes every week until you can do 30 minutes or momre. Then I'd look at some interval training. I will go for 2…

daily, first thing in the morning, well after the morning constitution, butt naked there will be daily fluctuations that I don't sweat but I look at the trend over the week and that tells me what I need to know.

no way, I might take them to the mall and let them go in a store by themselves and meet me outside or in a nearby store but no way she goes by herself. She also knows not to go anywhere with anyone she doesn't know or put herself in any type of situation where she could be at risk. Maybe I'm conservative but better safe…

I make margarita's out of Crystal Light Margarita Flavor, it's fairly new but you toss it in the blender with some ice and tequila and it makes a nice drink. I can't remember the brand off the top of my head but I found a tequila that is 65 calories per ounce so it makes a good low cal drink. I do the same thing with vodka…
