4 Months on Keto
The first image is the day I was diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic. Now it's one day shy of 4 months later and I'm down about 50 lbs. I get new a1C tests next week my BG has been in the low 90s for the past few months so I'm feeling optimistic about that. I also feel a lot better in terms of physical condition, energy, etc.

Keto and hunger
I’m about 4 months into Keto and while I don’t check much I am likely almost always in Ketosis. At first I was never hungry and didn’t really have to think much about calories. After 3 months I went thru a spell where I was seemingly always hungry and to really had to manage calories, I upped my daily calorie goal a bit…

4 Months
The first image was the day I was diagnosed at Type 2 Diabetic and then another today. I've lost about 50 lbs in 4 months. In my struggle to manage my blood glucose I really learned that my body doesn't tolerate carbs well so I chose to follow a Keto lifestyle and it's worked well for me. My average BG is around 93 mg/dl…

Clean Keto
Dumb question but I see this phrase used a lot in different contexts and I’d love to hear some thoughts on the topic. As a backdrop I’m 90 days into Keto and have lost about 40 lbs while also stabilizing my blood sugar which was a primary goal after being diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic about 120 days ago. I learn a lot…

Workout recovery on Keto
Any tips for recovering from muscle soreness after workouts. I hit the elliptical machine typically 5 days a week as it's easier on my joints. I'm also trying to do some strength training as well 2 days per week. I'm not really trying to get ripped or anything like that but just do pushups, sit-ups and basic circuit…

Coffee creamer
I have found that a tbsp of MCT oil in my coffee every morning effectively curbs my appetite until lunch. This makes 16:8 IF super easy and fits my schedule. I love Coffeemate Sugar-free hazelnut creamer. I like to use a frother on the creamer and then add coffee, the texture and flavor is great. Since I started Keto I’ve…

New to group, 2 months into Keto
I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes on June 13 and was told I needed to lose weight and reduce blood sugar immediately or start taking insulin shots. I decided I wanted to do everything in my power to avoid insulin shots so I immediately started to diet. I was following the dietary recommendations from the American…

1 year, 100 lbs
I decided to start losing weight 1 year on May 19, 2011. Through 2011 I just tried to eat better, exercise more and I cut out soft drinks. On December 31, 2011 I had lost 50 pounds. I then decided to give MFP a try starting Jan 1 and have since lost another 50 pounds for 100 pounds total in a year and 6 days. MFP has…

Cold hands
Recently I've been experiencing feeling very cold, especially during the afternoon in my office. No one seems to feel that it is cold so it must just be me. I've noticed being a little more cold over the past few months but it is getting worse and starting to bother me. I feel it all over but mostly noticeable in my hands.…

Plateau busting help wanted...
Arrgh. Have been on a plateau for past few weeks. I've been working out pretty hard and for awhile my Net Calories may have been low but I wasn't hungry. As I've lost weight MFP reduced my net calories per day so I tried cutting back on portion sizes and then when I hit the plateau I tried upping my intake and then gained…

Net calories on heavy calorie burn days
I find it very hard to eat enough calories on heavy workout days. I have been using HRM to track calorie burn and think it is reasonably accurate but some days I burn 700-1,500 calories and my net is often under 1,000 calories. I feel good but I wonder if I need to consume more calories on these days or if because I feel…
