My favorite is Optimum Nutrition's Hydrobuilder. It has the optimal set of soy, whey and casein protein blends AND it has creatine tossed in for that extra growth. Its kinda ridiculously expensive though. Grrr.. maybe I'll make my own.

Tree of Life. This drivel was full of experimental music, visual effects and philosophical meandering. I don't think I even finished it. I want my 1 hour back.

you solve the Rubik's cube and then make patterns in it afterwards

I took advanced calculus and quantum mechanics but after 90 minutes of lifting I can barely add up the sets I did. Dummy.

What nobody has told you so far in the thread is that coconut oil can be thought of as a carbohydrate - not as a fat. I understand you're trying to cut down on your fat macros - but you may as well subtract these from your fat total. Take a look: ========== http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/coconut_oil.htm Medium-Chain…

I need the secure packaging of jockeys. My boys need a house!

I've seen this recipe but havent tried it yet. Today I made mint chocolate ... very few ingredients and all of which I stock already. - 2 scoops of my mint chocolate whey - 2 cups unsweetened almond milk - some splenda

Not sure why you would even think it's pointless. It's the most important thing you should be doing now. You should focus on doing compound exercises, lots of volume and eat a lot.

I need to know more about this...

Maybe. Can't see enough.

Yes, we need MFP merchandise! Founder - please set this up!
-
Seriously, it seems like such an easy way for MFP to get a revenue stream. Why do they not sell t-shirts or other merchandise? Keep the app free, get people hooked and get 'em with merchandise! Just make the t-shirts look badass please....

I don't eat for taste - I eat for function. So it isn't about taste for me. My favorite is Optimum Nutrition's Hydro Builder. It has a good blend of whey soy and casein and, most importantly, it includes creatine which means I have fewer supplements to worry about. It is pricey but I love it.

What?! Of course you can grow new muscle fiber. That's why Chris's data shows "myofibrillar hypertrophy". This means growth of new muscle fibers.
-
I did strength training for the previous 3 years. 1RM on bench was 300 lbs. Now I don't care about maxes any more. I will still do strength training though once in a while and mix it up. Bodybuilder here... not a power lifter.

Great data Chris, thanks. So if I do reps of 80 pushups, that is pure silliness. I"ll just use pushups for burnout. I thought sarcoplasmic hypertrophy was optimized at around 12 reps... not 20. Keep seeing varying data on this. Clearly it isn't 8 so I'll keep moving toward 15-20 rep sets.
-
So you're referring to sarcoplasmic hypertrophy (increasing space between muscle fibers) vs sarcomere hypertrophy (creating actual new muscle fibers). Both of these will increase the size of your muscles. It is simply that one is optimized for mass and the other is optimized for strength. The thing is - with sarcoplasmic…

Hip: 40.5" Chest: 44" Shoulder: 51.75" (my favorite measurement) I don't squat, per se. For my legs I do leg presses to save my back.' Chris: do you know what is the ideal ratio for chest : hip?

Lots of laughs, physical chemistry, and some sexual tension. And where everything you learn about them makes them more intriguing. And a good gym day completed. Oh... and she tucks you in bed at the end of the day.

Board shorts if you don't care about performance. Jammers if you're an actual athlete or you take your swimming seriously.
-
How about 12 minute trainer? OK I'm being silly, but seriously - just do something a bit harder, with either more duration or intensity. If you have joint issues, do things that don't hit the joints to badly. Maybe swimming or an elliptical machine...

I think: - It's nothing new. Lots of retailers have been doing this such as Abercrombie, etc. - Beauty is important because it is hard coded into all our brains due to evolutionary legacy. - To deny the importance of beauty is to deny your humanity. - While beauty is important, it is not nearly as important as other…

yes the largest is best. consistency is more important than anything though. Measure the same spot every time and don't sweat it.

The most important feature in a home bench set is to have safety catches in case you get in trouble with no spotter. This is an absolute must in my opinion.
