my mid morning snack is a soft protein cookie folded in half with peanut butter in the middle so its a little sandwich :)

BCAA helps some with muscle soreness, but unless it hampers your next session i say enjoy the pain :)
-
pffff.. how much do they bench?? :D

Its easy for wee folks to be saying its easy to hit their protein goal with whole foods but for people at the bigger end of the scale its not so much. Imagine how much protein a 300lb powerlifter needs a day... thats a lot of eggs, chicken, tuna and steak :) I aim for 190g a day which is 1g per lb of lean mass ... id…

Distance wise i went from not no running at all to my first 5k in about 3 weeks, first 10k was about a month after that, first 1/2 marathon about 6 months after that. Time wise i started running 5ks in about 35 mins, i got it under 30mins after a few weeks and run my PR of 24:50 in July so thats about 6 months after…

Thanks all, some much more sensible numbers there. The 10% thing i saw on a couple of sites calculations... thats the trouble with google, it can lead you to as much BS as it does good info :) Ill take a read of that Katsch-M link at home, bit too much to take in to read at work :)

There is a reason why a lot of competative body builders (as opposed to the bicep boys in most gyms that claim to be body builders) have bulk and cut cycles.. unless you have mental genetics its very hard to gain significant muscle mass and strength without excess calories.. and its nigh on impossible to loss scale weight…

Weight lifting i tend to listen to a lot of metal.. Dethklok being my current fav .. running i prefer hip hop, there are a couple of Eminem songs that have the perfect beat for my 10k pace :)

I use Nike+ for 'serious' runs and Zombies run! for fun runs and interval training :)
-
Very noticeable good work :)

Nailed it :)

If you want the number on the scale to be lower then yeah just sit around and eat less. If you want to look good, feel good, be stronger, faster, fitter, healthier, happier.. AND still get to eat nice things.... exercise :)

Today is my long run day, which for me is 10-15k , ran the 10k in a new PR of 57.33 which i put down to being inspired by Mo Farah and the general exploits of team GB yesterday :) ..I recover with some jaffa cakes, a nice cold fizzy fruit water and a moderatley cold shower.
-
Well done, thats amazing, you look so much younger, happier and healthier.
-
its the one with the exact title 'Zombies, run!' and sadly thats probably the expensive one.. still, about the same price as a McDonalds Extra value meal so in that respect its not bad :)
-
I love eating, and exercise means i can eat more and not gain lard so for that reason alone i love it :)
-
Better add.. its not free im afraid (wasnt for iphone at least) , in fact its quite expensive for an app in the UK at £5.49, but if i finally run a sub 25 minute 5k thanks to my fear of the walking dead.. then its worth it :)
-
Its great fun :) Not sure about the other versions but on the iphone at least you can have it play a playlist in between the story segments and if you pick the right songs it works brilliantly. Bit cheesy, but mine starts with Zombie Nation by Kernkraft.. sets the scene nicely :)

I get my gear ready and laid out so im not searching for it in the morning, dont eat anything to heavy or drink alky-hol the night before and have a decent breakfast in the morning. My biggest problem is timing my water intake, i want to be hydrated but i dont want to be busting for a wee after 2k :)

I know plenty of 'men' that cant even do 1 standard push up and seen lots of gym rat boys doing the most ridiculous partial push ups youve even seen... and also seen ladies banging out good reps of full push ups so yeah it could do with renaming.. knee push ups is more descriptive either way.

Please provide links to these offending threads so i can ..err.. complain about them :)

iamday ... good haircut :) ..and 43

Yup im a bit carb eater and big exerciser... i could only ever low carb if i was a couch slob but i have no desire to be skinny yet unhealthy and unfit.
-
You look healthy, you look like you eat sensibly and exercise and you really dont have anything to be hung up about. If i had to describe you in 1 word id say 'sporty'
-
Great goal.. i bet you smash that target time :)

I use a HRM to log it Jane, couldnt find it on MFP and it would be wildly different as theres so many different actvities in it. I guess circuit training would be the closest
