Its most likely water weight What seems to work for the majority of people is to only weigh yourself once a week. Most people freak at the slightest weight fluctuations, myself included.. Hence, weighing yourself once a week :)

When I was a newbie here, I remember asking a question about weight loss and the dreaded "why I am I not losing faster??" Question (I had lost 7lbs in about 6 weeks..which,looking back, is GREAT) . I remember them asking me to open up my diary and give stats...I gave my stats but never opened my diary. But I just remember…

I have not personally used them, but I would generally say save your money. "Carb blockers" "Fat Fighters" etc... are all gimmicks and don't work, they only make your wallet lighter
-
Do you weigh yourself every day? Could be water weight
-
If you only have 25lbs to lose, I would generally say 0.5-1lb per week.

Also this ^^^ great advice

You could also eat/drink at maintence for that night as well

Unless you are already eating at 1200 calories, in which case you do not need to eat less. Op, how many calories are you taking in now?
-
Sorry, never tried this particular diet but any 'diet' that cuts out the foods that I like, doesn't sound like one I would like to participate in. Why cut out certain foods? Just eat the foods you already like while eating in a deficit and you'll be golden.

Congrats on your pants fitting better! Some people lose a lot of water weight in the beginning, and for some it takes a few weeks and then they get a big wooosh of weight loss. Keep going!
-
I would take a gander at the 'Must Reads' at the top of this forum, they are very very helpful :)
-
One more thing: you want to maximize fat loss and minimize lean muscle loss and you do that by avoiding too big of a deficit, that is why many people on here advocate for eating back your exercise calories. I would recommend getting either a fitbit or a HRM to get a more accurate estimate on how many calories you are…

Great job! Keep it up!

The way that mfp is set up, it expects that you're not going to exercise, so the exercise calories you burn just gives you more "earned calories" to eat every day . So, the sedentary, lightly active etc has nothing to do with purposeful exercise. Most people on here will tell you to eat back 50-75% of your exercise…

I always do not first thing in the morning, before I eart or drink anything and after I use the bathroom..oh, and I always weigh myself naked
-
You can eat whatever you normally like to eat. What do you normally like to eat?
-
If you hit your daily calorie goal from this one meal, then you should be fine. No harm done.if you don't intend to hit your calorie goal from this one meal, that will not be supported on this site. I hope you get the answers your seeking :)
-
Doesn't mfp have a calorie goal set up for you? What are you trying to achieve? Weight loss? Maintenance? Weight gain? As far as your question goes, you can go under 'nutrition' and then go under the 'weekly' tab and it will show you how many calories you are under/over your goal
-
Why are you eating less than 900 cals a day? That is no where near healthy. Why not go by how many calories mfp tells you to ?
-
Thank you so much for this! Perfectly said!

[/quote] No, I have no idea where they got the 4000 number. With almost 100 lbs to lose, you can be at -2lbs a week until about 50lbs remaining then switch to 1.5. With 25-30lbs remaining switch to 1lb a week, and with 10lbs switch to .5lb. That's about the recommended amounts to maximize fat loss, and not lose muscle…

My BMR is somewhere around 1900. So thats what you recommend I should be eating?
-
So now I'm confused. I'm set to lose 2lbs/wk. I'm still about 95lbs overweight, my tdee is around 2700. Should I be going at this less agressively?
-
I see a tiny bit of a change. Buuuttt...GIVE IT TIME. It is probably water weight that came off this time, you may even lose a significant amount next week as well (probably mostly water weight) your weight loss will slow down. With that being said, great job for making the decision to become a healthier you, and you have…

Idk about all the water drinking...that picture though! :D

I'm in! I want to lose 15-20lbs by Christmas :)

Do you use a scale? If you are gaining weight, you are either likely underestimating the calories you are taking in, or it could be from the high sodium levels from frequenting restaurants. You would have to eat a massive feast to gain 1-2lbs of fat from one meal. If you have not been losing or gaining, you are eating at…
