I ditto putting him to bed an hour or two earlier and eliminating the naps. Both of my kids stopped napping before 4 (one stopped at age 3, one at age 2...grrr).

I cut 2 pieces of bacon up and stir fry brussel sprouts in the bacon and grease. It actually isn't bad calorie wise and it is one of our favorite dishes. I'll do that with asparagus, as well. Here is a similar recipe with a caloric listing (I don't add the chicken broth to mine):…

I only like groats, now (unprocessed oats). DS used to gag on regular oatmeal. I make them in a rice cooker and have them programmed to be ready in the morning. We like ours with a little butter, cinnamon and brown sugar (a tsp is plenty).

I agree with PP...go do something fun. I used my single years to volunteer for recreation organizations for disabled people. I learned to be a white water rafting guide, cross country ski guide and downhill ski guide (all for people with various disabilities). I was definitely out of the house doing great things for my…

I have never understood the concept of healthier = more expensive. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but whenever I buy processed stuff and junk food, my food bill about triples. I purchase a lot of food at Costco (huge bag of romaine =$3, huge bag of broccoli=$3, bananas=$1.30, etc...). What gets expensive are my $10…

I make yogurt in mine: heat milk to 115 degrees plug in crock pot, add 1/2 cup of plain store-bought yogurt (think of yogurt as a science experiment, in which you are incubating and growing cultures, i.e. yogurt) heat for 10 min before adding milk unplug crock pot, add milk and cover with towel....leave set for 8 hours (do…

I have a serious sugar addiction, so I have not cut it out completely, but I have limited it. I only make sweets on weekends and that is it. I think about what I want to make on Saturday and that helps me get through the week. I also eat black licorice during the week...hey, I am trying. :) I don't keep any other sweets in…

Oh, I guess some people might find it odd that we drink raw milk from our cow?

I make my own yogurt without sugar and my family just kinda roll their eyes at me.

Those all actually looked normal to me! lol Well, except the eel and kiibeh(?)...never had those. I like to dunk sourdough toast into my orange juice. I also used to break my graham crackers up, put them in a bowl, pour milk on them and eat them like cereal. (can be high calorie, though, so I don't do that much, but my…

Mine is open...you can see I ate 1/2 a frozen pizza and a Snickers today. :D Usually, I do eat a fair bit better. I also don't log Saturdays; those are my break days. I probably don't go over my calories, I just like to take a break from all of the logging/figuring calories.

I love my husband for his keen fashion sense:

I banned my mil from my property. That woman did not know/respect anyone's boundaries.

2 I loved, 1 I hated My 1 chiro helped me regain mobility in my arm after a car accident. Loved him. Try to see if there are any reviews on your chiro. You don't want a bad first experience.

I have heard weights help? Sounds like you get plenty of cardio! :) Maybe sub Jillian's 30day shred for the aerobics for a month or two?

I have a large bone structure and at 140 I looked fine. When I stood next to my petite peers, I still felt "fat". <sigh> I wish I could slap some sense into that old me. Unfortunately, I don't have any digital pictures because it was so long ago! lol

I always go with my gut. At the ripe old age of 5 I learned to trust my instincts; I avoided being raped/molested by a "favorite" uncle because I went with my gut instinct. I found out later he did rape my cousin (she was 8) and tried to get to my brothers (they also trusted their instincts to stay away).

Mine has a delay timer, so some mornings I'll have oat groats that were cooked overnight in the rice cooker.

Totally off topic, but we have a bunny that looks almost exactly like yours!!

I allow myself one day where I don't log calories...my day off, so to speak. I still try to eat well for most meals, try to stop when full and I try to balance it with more activity. However, I still eat what I want that one day (actually, I mostly eat what I like the other 6 days, I just watch the caloric intake). My days…

We have 3 dogs, Chloe (2 yr old Cocker Spaniel), Sequoia (9 mo old Great Pyrennes/Akbash), and Brin (our 14 yr old SPCA special). This is my first time posting pics, so hopefully it will work! Our Cocker Spaniel, staying true to her hunting roots: Our GP/Akbash after he found my newly planted flowers (grrr): And our SPCA…

I was reading about new muscles retaining water...somewhere on this board. Give it a month and then check. My first weigh in was also the first day of my period, so I know how you feel! :grumble:

I am on day 4 with my kiddos. My kids and I say, "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" while punching. Bad mommy. :) Oh, we only do 3x week (Tues, Wed, Fri) and alternate with c25k (Thurs, Sat, Sun). I now love Mondays...rest day. :)
