Did you enter your particulars (age, height, weight) on the elliptical? If not, I'd go with what MFP says. Personally I'd also recommend a heart rate monitor (HRM) for the most accuracy.

I've been told you should lift first and then do cardio. You'll get a longer "burn" that way. This is how I've worked out and it works for me. I'll be curious to see what others think.

I've had this same question. Thanks for the suggestions thus far. I really like Panache and didn't realize they have a sports bra. Will check out Freya too.

I definitely can't train on an empty stomach. But I need a little something to give me an energy boost and help me get through. I'll have to check out BCAAs. And the eggs and bacon sound like exactly what I need post-workout!

Thank you all!!! If the weather permits I'm going to test the waters tomorrow. Monday for sure.

Trying this over the weekend. They look so good!

Can't wait to try these!

Like the OP, most people I know subscribe to the eat less calories + exercise more regimen. I decided to try this method after a lot of reading. Very simply put: it just makes logical sense! So please feel free to add me as well. Being surrounded by like minded individuals will be good for support!

I vote for WEAR IT!! I bet as soon as you step foot out there you're going to feel GREAT!

I'm at 209 now and you just gave me a great motivational boost!!
-
OK thanks! I'm going to do the same thing. Let's see what happens!

Ok thanks! I think I've got. I just went back to the Scooby website and re-entered my info. My TDEE-20% is lower than my BMR and I don't think I'm supposed to eat less than my BMR. Maybe my goal should be to net my BMR.

Now I have a question. How exactly do I calculate NEAT? I want to be sure I'm doing this correctly. Thanks.

I think you could DEFINITELY be eating too few calories. Upping your calories and adding weight training (if you aren't already) can make a huge difference. Just make sure the calories are good calories. Here are links to two posts I've been reading about this very thing.…

I think that's a GREAT idea! I keep saying I am going to do the same thing. I've even considered creating a vision board to post pictures of my rewards so I can have a visual motivator.

UGGGG!!! Hope they come with an Android app. That looks like a great tool!

I'm sure I was in the 2500-3000 calorie range on most days. I'll admit that I'm glad to see this thread because it makes me know that I wasn't alone and that I'm on the right path. And that this is totally doable!

Amazing!! You look fantastic!

Excellent point about my comparison! I just need to jump in with both feet and see what happens! So, I'm changing my NET eating goal but it's really my GROSS following this method since I'm using my TDEE right? I'll still enter my workouts and the calories burned b/c I'm a numbers fanatic. But I'm going to ignore that and…

I've been reading, calculating, and then reading some more. Before I update my MFP goals, I want to be sure I have this correct. The numbers seem high but I"m going to trust what I've been reading here. However, left me first say I've used two different tools to calculate (Scooby and Fat2FitRadio). The numbers weren't…

Great job! You look GREAT!

I absolutely love this post!! Congratulations on your success!

I've missed the posts involving the bickering (thankfully) so I can't speak to that. However, I LOVE the way you are incorporating clean eating. I'm in the early stages of cleaning up my eating. My goal is to eat 70-80% clean each day. In various places I see the people who are 100% clean but I know that's not the…

This might be the best thread EVER!!! OMG! I'm getting so many good ideas! Thanks! And I'll start posting some of my own too!

I'm not doing it alone in the real world but I have in the past so I can relate to the struggle. Please feel free to add me! I may not be able to be there in the real world but you certainly don't have to go it alone on MFP!
