I'm also new on fitbit, and would love to have some friends on fitbit that can challenge me. I find that I'm quite competitive and love that incentive to get more steps in :) https://www.fitbit.com/user/2WNXXJ

such great rewards! :) I got myself a fitbit & a polar FT60! I've promised myself a really nice jacket from REI sporting goods store when I reach my goal weight :)

This is my third week in for waking at or about 5am, and I'm definitely noticing over the last few days that I really tend to successfully workout then and there at 5 am, than if I woke up at my normal 6:30am, and intended to work out after work. I just don't do it, I'm tired, I've been sitting at a desk all day for work,…

thank you both for responding, I appreciate it :) I don't have a working heart rate monitor yet, but am planning on getting one :)

yeah, I was thinking sodium too... Chipotle is a better choice than some, but you'd be amazed at the sodium content of their food. Feel free to correct me, but I heard that high-sodium levels = extra water retention?

bump, sounds delicious! I gotta try it some time, thank you!

Ummmm... it really depends on what type of music you like, imo. I like Bhangra (Bhangra Beats Volume 1 Is great- Jay P. Is a fantastic instructor). When practicing belly dance- just varied belly dance music is good for that (electronic music is good for Tribal Fusion belly dance). For a more eclectic type of dance work out…

I'm jealous of anyone able to attend Barre Classes at a fitness location- I'd go in a heartbeat. I, too, use Barre inspired workouts (i.e. Ballet Beautiful, Ballet Body, The Dailey Method, Burn at the Barre, Physique 57, etc) and love the feeling I get from them. I use them with my Fluidity Bar. If you have a pass to go…

Here's a list of a few sites I go to for Vegan Food Info: http://www.happycow.net/ http://www.everydaydish.tv/?page=recipe&recipe=93 http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/tag/crock-pot I also have the following Vegan Cookbook: Veganomicon (has just about everything) :-)

I bought the 3 dvd collection of Core Fusion, and I just did the first half of the Pilates dvd- it was a good workout. I really like the Body Sculpt dvd, and will probably start rotating them again for this month. I stopped a little while with the workouts and monitoring food daily- my excuse is... I'm lazy and didn't feel…

Yeah, both are great recommendations. King Corn is also a great movie to watch. I bought that as well as Food, Inc. Generally, any processed food is pretty bad for you. If you don't know what something is on the label, you probably shouldn't be ingesting it. Also, there is a fantastic book out there, called "Omnivore's…

I went ahead and got a 44" bellicon... and i LOVE it. So silent and luckily I got it at a discount for the after thanksgiving sale, and it includes their workout dvd.

It's not uncommon for friends to be resistant to the change you want to make in yourself, even though it is what you want... perhaps it's making them feel afraid of the change they need or should have in their lifestyle? But to be honest, this change you are making is what you want, right? I say, do what you need to do for…

I found this neat chart on sparkpeople (posted by 1WAY2GO) to figure out how many calories (approximately) are burned per 10 mins on a rebounder. This is the calculation I'll set up for my workouts on my new Bellicon (yay!!): The following chart shows how many calories you should burn at your weight doing rebounding for…

I'd definitely take a live class if I had a deal like you're getting in KC (jealous :-) !)... but for me, I do dvds with the Fluidity Bar that I bought a few years back. I don't use the Fluidity dvds (personal preference), loved Physique 57, but am trying out Core Fusion Collection, and will soon try out "The Dailey…

I found two different dvds that I'm going to try in lieu of Physique 57 (sold it on ebay- luckily got what I spent on it), I had considered Tracy Anderson- but these two others looked interesting too: The Dailey Method http://the-dailey-method.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/no-excuses-dvd and Burn at the…

Totally jealous!!! :-) I love love love pecan pie :-) But I agree with the other people who responded. It was just 1 day where you indulged. At least you're not consistently (meaning every single day) eating to excess.

I've seen her dvds on ebay, amazon, walmart, and Target. :-) and if you want to try it for free, check your local library, and of course they have samples on youtube :-)

After reviewing a good number of "beginner" yoga dvds, I decided on trying this one. I think my Rodney Yee collection of yoga workouts may be a bit advanced for me right now as it's been a while (at least a year) since I last used it. This is the one I'm going to try for a while:…

I have the collection of Rodney Yee's Yoga dvds: http://www.amazon.com/Power-Yoga-Collection-Rodney-Yee/dp/B0044CM7YC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1322085521&sr=8-6 I love it :-)

Hilarious article, love it!

That is fantastic to hear!!!

Congrats on both your current weight loss and your great shopping deals! :-)

A co-worker of mine tried Jenny Craig or something similar to Nutri-system. She spent, I think, around 150 for the consultation at which they set a meal plan where she then paid around 200 or so for the week of food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner- prepackaged & microwaveable food portions)? And on top of that, she had to…
