FitFlop makes a pair a slippers that are awesome! A bit expensive, but they have great arch support and lots of cush. Really helped the PF and completely took the pain away from some bone spurs in my feet. I wear orthodics during the day, but my feet love my FitFlop slippers.

Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing this. I will remember him also.

The older I get, the more I care less about what others think, and the more I care about what I think. Trite I know, but true. Keep up the good work, and be gentle to those knees.

I get much the same thing. I do have a prescription shampoo, but when it starts to get out of hand (peelable crust, I know, yuk!) I have found a product that works for me. Lush brand cosmetics, they have a website. Its called Retread. Slather your scalp in in, and soak in the tub for about a half hour, then wash it out.…

I live in Seattle. We don't need attractions, people just keep showing up.

Mixing my protein powder with unsweetened almond milk is much better than mixing it with water, well worth the 40 calories a cup. And I like that I can keep a stock of unopened containers in the pantry. Costco even sells it now!

Bump, thanks!

Everything on your list is full of sugar. You can have them, but you will trade those calories for something you could have eaten. I finally re-educated my palate so that I don't really enjoy sweet beverages. Outside of plain water, which can be boring, I enjoy plain green tea, cold or hot, black coffee and sparkling…

I had a good start last year, then it all went to, well you where it goes. Ready to get back on track in 2013. I have a plan, which in my case is more important than a goal. Cant get to goal without a plan after all. First step, log it! the good, the bad and the ugly. I'll send in invite!

The science on coffee seems to be an ever changing thing. One report says it's evil, then another comes out extolling the virtues. Coffee is one of those things that affects different people different ways. You can build up tolerances to the caffeine; I can drink it all day and never get the jitters or have trouble…

If coffee is such a great diuretic, explain to me why I have been drinking 6-8 cups of black coffee a day for years, but still have to take two different water pills because of extreme water retention in my lower extremities? (And yes, I have been put through a battery of tests to make sure nothing else is going on) And…

When my hubby was working I would make up a weeks worth of breakfast sands at a time on Sunday morning. Stack them all but one back into the english muffin bag and he would take them to work with him. Leave them in the fridge at work to warm up one per day. They kept fine for the week. You could make up a stack and take…

Wow, look at the love going on here... Yes, hate is a strong word, and yes, as parents sometimes we hate our children (especially teenagers!), and love them at the same time. We love them, but hate the choices they are making. So Mom, my best advice is to put this squarely back in his lap. Want to go drinking? Obtain the…

Must make this!

lol, had to read the thread because I thought for a moment I would get to count getting a massage as exercise!

One trick I found by accident, using what i had on hand. Season with the Mexican Lime salt or Chili Lime salt. Yummm. I always cook fresh or thaw if its frozen. You can pan sear if you use a really good non stick without adding calories. This works best with thinner cuts of fish like tilapia.

thanks for all the suggestions. I'm pretty sure they have eliptical machines and bicycles, I'll start there. The gym doesn't have trainers or anyone employed to help. Maybe some of the other members can help me, but I don't want to be a pain :) I think this will work for me. As its at work, I can just stay later, no…

This. Enough alcohol and you don't eat much, if you are drinking straight spirits, you are not consuming that many calories in the grand scheme of things. Then, the next day you don't eat much because you are hung over. He may indeed have a problem.

For me the trick is to have good foods available. I cook up a dozen hard boiled eggs at at time. Then I can just grab and go. I keep Baby Bel light cheese in the fridge at work and tuna cups in my drawer. Cut up a mess of fresh veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, celery, radishes) at once, and keep them in the fridge. Just…

Last night I was craving a big bowl of chicken noodle soup. 4oz of chicken meat, 1 cup of chicken broth, 1 cup spinach (chopped), 1/2 cup chopped leeks, 3oz of miracle noodles, yummmm. (7 carbs) Bacon wrapped sea scallops are a treat. pulled pork Spread turkey slices with cream cheese, roll up and eat. be wild and put a…

One of the best things about low carb, BACON! The one "bad" fat I allow myself. Almost on a daily basis.
