I'm not giving up this year, I'm giving back. Random acts of kindness. I did this last year. Whenever I am in a drive thru, I pay for the car behind me. I've even left an extra $20 at the cash register to help pay for the groceries behind me. I always make a point to be out of site before they realize who did it for them…

Hang in there! I have smoked for about 40 years. Been trying seriously since the first of the year to quit. Haven't' made it more than a day and a half at a time. But, I'm not giving up. Don't give in, do you really want to be where I am again?

Eat some Chinese, I just stay away from the breaded and deep fried stuff and anything with a syrupy sweet sauce. And drink lots of water to flush out the sodium.

Check out the Ostrim Beef and Ostrich Snack (I like the Pepper flavor, spicy, but not hot). Amazon and a lot body building sites have them. 1.5g fat, 80 cals and 14 gr protein. Individually wrapped, and they are yummy. Like a healthy Slim Jim.

This. Talk this over with your parents, not your brother. We didn't have a lot of family around us when my kids were small. My mom was about the only one, but there were 8 siblings to deal with. Pretty much what I do. Sometimes I cook a couple slices of bacon, remove the bacon, saute the kale in the bacon fat, maybe with some chopped onion and add back in the chopped bacon. I like it in soup because its a pretty sturdy green and holds up better than other greens in a soup.

Same here, you could be telling my story. Married 34 years, about the 10 year mark it got bad. If we hadn't been married we would have called it quits. But, we worked through it for a couple of years and came out even stronger, and even more committed. That wouldn't have happened if we had not been married.
