That's pretty much what I did. Thanks.

I view my state lottery tickets as contributions to the state deficit. Can't say the same for the casinos.

I sure hope someone takes you up on it!

Love my iPhone 5, third iPhone I've owned. Both of the previous phones are still in use as iPods. My kids need to replace their phones, I replace mine not because I need to, but because i get phone envy when the new ones come out.

I've been considering a Cornish Rex! are they as affectionate as they say?

When our yorkie, who will be 15 years old tomorrow, couldn't jump up on the bed anymore, we got him stairs. Our lab also sleeps with us, but she's a bed hog.

I keep my diary open as accountability to myself. No shame. I've hidden food a lot in my life, this is one place I won't do it. Feel free to take a look and add me if you'd like.

Your story is the kind of thing that keeps me here on MFP. This is support and encouragment. Bless you.

So many things others have said are so very true. Don't be upset by your mom, she loves you and is offering to help, its what we do. This is your personal decision, there is no right or wrong answer here, its completely up to you. Do the research. The consultation isn't a bad idea, it will give you information. It may not…

Just made this for dinner. Served it over tofu shirataki noodles, poached chicken and spinach. I had to tweak the sauce to suit my tastes, for me it was pretty bland. I doubled the parmesan and garlic. I just couldn't get the cheesy taste I was looking for without doubling the cheese. As I was using shirataki noodles I…

I have two favorite (and easy!) ways to season any white fish. I cook both in a non-stick skillet with a spritz of EVOO 1) find a mexican store, they have this chili lime salt, the kids eat it like candy, its awesome on fish! 2) cook one side, flip and spread some pesto over the top of the fish while it finishes cooking.…

Roasted beets are the bomb! Also yummy in Borsch. If you buy your beets with the leaves attached, don't toss them. Wash them, cut them up and saute them with EVOO and some garlic. I buy (or pick) the beets one day, use the greens that day, and roast the beets later. I've never used a parsnip, but I like turnips in my…

Thank you so much for sharing. I am going to give this a try with some Shirataki noodles and added veggies and chicken. A great way to keep the fat down and enjoy something rich and creamy.

Diced into cubes, add 1 oz half and half, microwave about 20 seconds if need be to warm the half and half. Stir the cubes around in the half and half and top with some sugar…

Show up with groceries. Maybe even cook something yummy and healthy for the both of you. Enroll her help. "You know I think you are beautiful, and I want to get where you are. Can you help me while I stay with you?" A real friend will jump on the bandwagon.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. Was a fan when it was really his only book out, and long before the musical. I have given many copies of it away. And replaced a few copies when I lent it out and lost track of it.

Lots of advice here, some good, some not. Here's my two cents. First of all, get to a marriage counselor, if he won't go, go by yourself. I think we tend to treat marriage far to casually sometimes, it may not be salvageable, but you need to talk to someone before you make that kind of decision. There are definately some…

This is tough. First, like others have said, show up, give your great-grandmother some love, avoid those who hurt you and leave when you feel uncomforatable. Also tell those who hurt you that they did, calmly, don't make this occasion about you. Second, realize that often family feel the need to INFORM you about what they…
