I like your bumps terrapin - thats the core of the problem/question. Iifym calories in / out just isn't cutting it at the moment. I need to change something to expect a different result.

Uh, to lose fat. durr. :laugh: In all seriousness, i'm not a MFP newbie, i've lost a load of fat and i'm struggling at the moment. I'm looking for something different to try to kick my motivation up. Having never done a "diet" before i thought trying low carb for a short period would be worth a trial.

You haven't said your weight, which is the best way to calculate it. Am sure you'd do fine eating up to 100g/day. Thats my usual recommendation for chicks.

It's overrated. I've always loved the idea of being a race car driver. Hug a tree, hippy. No running when preggers, do it post-baby. Music you like. Anything works really. Whichever time works best for you. Nah

For a guy of your height at an weight of say 180lbs, yeah 1500cals is ok. you're heavier, so your tdee is higher. Stick at 2000 cals, and get stricter with your logging. Open your food diary. Report back in 3 weeks.

Yeah, you're talking sense. The biggest mistake is not being consistent. No matter how crappy the estimates for calories are, if you're consistently doing it you can change something and measure the result. EG. 1. I agree with eating 1500/day instead of 1200 2. Eat back most of your exercise calories on the days you work out. Weigh your food, log everything and be consistent.

Try concentrating on your stride and comparing it to that on the road. Are you taking bigger strides, and landing heavier on the treadmill?

Don't men just use the word "Natural" for non steroid fuelled BB competitions? The de facto standard otherwise is steroid, growth hormone, testosterone and anything else they can do just to increase muscle mass. Is this right? Probably not. And Arnie used steroids, just not GH.

Am never normally hungry in the morning. As long as i have my coffee, i'm good. I'm following Martin Berkhan's advice of taking BCAA in the morning as i don't really eat till lunch. On occasion i'll sink a protein shake for breakfast post workout.
