I have a pair of bike shorts...the material is thicker so it contains the jiggle...then I throw a pair of lightweight shorts over them (not so comfortable in tight clothes)....that does the trick just fine and the shorts have a nice inner pocket for my keys.

Lentils are great...but they they aren't a complete protein...you have to mix it with some kind of grain to get all the amino acids needed to make the complete protein your body needs...same with most beans, nuts and grain. There are only a few complete protein from a plant based source...like soy, and I believe quinoa as…

WTG! That's always a great feeling!

yeah....West Virginia is fairly southern
-
^^^ Pretty much. Lived in the south for 12 years but can't break my 'you guys' habit. I've heard You's but it's not something I've ever used.

That's a really amazing victory! I can only hope someday I can do the same!
-
Awesome! I know how great it feels to be into the 100s :-D Keep it up!

I'm anti-smart phone...my phone texts, has a camera and if I'm desperate I can get online...I have 12 number keys and no touch screen :) I love it

Fresh is best, frozen is great when you can't get fresh and tinned should be a last resort. Vitamins in the veggies dissipate when stored that way for long periods of time and the metal has come under fire recently for containing BPA.

^^^ lol This! I'm all about the squat. After 3 year in rural Africa I have mastered the squat :)

When I first started on here I had a goal of 1200 and I legitimately had difficulty eating up to my goal. Do your best with higher calorie foods (nuts are great for that - peanut butter is the best - embrace it, don't avoid it , just go for the more all-natural versions), spread them out through the day if you need to and…

bean, lentils, quinoa and nuts (yes they're a bit higher in fat but really good for you)

My fav late night snack is a piece of whole grain toast with PB and a bit of honey :)

It is possible...I was losing about 1kilo a week for a while. It's tough tough, you have to be strict with what you eat and maintain 1000cal/day deficit. Just don't go under 1200 in trying to do it. Good luck!

I'm not vegan, but I've been vegetarian for about 10 years and I don't really eat eggs...and I'm lactose intolerant. Beans, nuts, lentils are all good protein sources. I drink almond milk, eat quinoa, and yes sometimes I eat tofu, but maybe once a week at the most...really the possibilities are endless with food. It makes…

I've heard that as well. I am not now, nor will I ever will be a morning person, so my workout is in the evening. First thing in the morning I get winded from climbing stairs, evening I can run without issue...and in that moment of being half awake in the morning I can ALWAYS talk myself out of getting up until the last…

I've been vegetarian for over 10 years now. I am much healthier, get sick less and have more energy than I did when I was a meat eater...But it's worth mentioning that I've never been big on meat. I've never 'enjoyed' a steak...my primary meat sources when I was growing up were generally breaded and/or processed. When I…

tried on a pair of size 14 Aus (~12US) pants...and they fit! I was about 18 Aus when I started

C25K! Just finished week 5...so today I ran for 20 minutes without stopping. I've come a long way from the 20 second intervals I started with at the beginning of the year. Get yourself a good pair of shoes, a podcast (or the smartphone app) and find a nice place outside to run and go for it!

I have a box in the freezer...I eat a few cookies a couple times a week. The only thing I really don't indulge in as much is soda (not that I really drank it all that much before mfp). For me it's all about moderation.

If you're working on your abs don't forget about your back! That needs strengthening as well.
-
Right there with you. Dropped 2 cup sizes alright and now they just don't look good :(. I've started started wearing a bra to bed...that's helped a little but I think a breast lift might be something I'm interested in.

I'm going to reiterate the C25k suggestion. The 9 week program really helps with stamina and getting you running. I'm the same way, I've never been a runner, but I've tried so many times over the years. I've tried doing it on my own, I got to a mile and ended up giving up in the end b/c I couldn't get past 1 mile. Now I'm…

So there are some people on here that suggest eating the BMR for your goal weight. I don't, I eat for 2lbs per week. it's a choice. If you eat for your goal bmr your loss will be less per week but some say it'll be more sustainable once you get there. As for eating your exercise calories back in that case I'm not 100% but…

Hi! So my life isn't quite as busy as yours, but I'm vegetarian, a full time grad student (finishing up soon :) ) ...and oddly enough a fiction writer wanna-be. Feel free to add me.

I'm veggie...and a wanna be runner. I've been one fore over 10 years and have never had any issues with protein. My sources are beans, lentils and tofu mostly. If you're worried about it there are vegetarian protein powders (just out of curiosity I looked into one that was chickpea based...but didn't buy). When I get into…

That's awesome! I'm about 6lbs away myself!
