I get bad reactions from artificial sweeteners as well. There are all kinds of nasty side effects linked to them. Try stevia as a no-cal sweetener...it's all natural.

Congratulations!! You look fantastic!!

Yay!! You're going to do great :-)

I have a polar FT40 (they don't make them anymore) But I love it. Any of the polar's are a great choice. Chest strap is a must!

Fantastic job!!!!

Thanks! I didn't really set concrete goals as far as loss goes...it was more of a 'one day at a time' approach. I had my daily calorie goal and stuck to it, but not so severely that I wasn't happy. I didn't weigh my food or anything so drastic, but I was honest about what I ate. I've taken a few breaks but continued eating…

Thanks everyone!

One of the hardest things you'll do. You're going to see how huge everything is at home and how much we waste. Come up with abbreviated stories to tell people...and when they ask "How was it?" All people want to hear is a short answer. Don't take offense to it, it's just the way it is. Join your local RPCV group so you…

Welcome Back, I'm here after a bit of a break myself :)

I travel a lot

There's actually a new ban on large soft drink sizes in NY....but yes I'm sure a 1.9L cup does exist
-
It can go either way, but I wouldn't worry. When I got my polar I found MFPs estimates were really low compared to my HRM.

I finished c25k a while back. it's amazing to think that at the begging of the year I could barely run a minute, and now I can do 5k (plus some)! It's well worth it! Stick with it and you'll surprise yourself on a weekly basis!

Depends on how trashy we're talking here lol....I LOVE pretty much any book by Maria Snyder...but the Study series (there are 3 of them) is her first and highly addictive...her latest the power series, only 1 book is out but it's her best yet. A kind of spoofy fun book you can try A. Lee Martinez - I've read 'A Nameless…

^^This...if you're doing something you hate you won't be doing it long. If you like to dance....make time to dance around the room like a lunatic every day, or take a walk after work, climb a tree if that's what floats your boat...as long as you move!

I'll be 30 in a few months, but normally I get told I look 24 or 25.

I've had a couple of memberships with PF...as a broke student type they've always been great for me. I've been to quite a few and they've always had a good free weights section...I liked it b/c it's less intimidating than other gyms when you're just starting off.

I Plateaued once when I hit about 185lbs (I started at 220). I was netting around 1200 cals a day up to that point, then I just stopped losing weight. I lowered my goal from 2 lbs a week loss to 1lb, giving me extra calories, and i started losing again. Since then my loss has been fairly steady. ETA: My plateau lasted…

^^^This...your doctor chose his specialty...and it wasn't nutrition. It's like asking a podiatrist about your heart...while the basic information should be there it's not what they focus on ETA: I saw the comment on the top of page 4 with the exact same analogy AFTER posting lol too funny

The problem with PB2 is it takes the oil out of PB...as in the source of the healthy fat and HDL (the good cholesterol)
-
Personally I love my Brooks Adrenaline

PB is chock full of yummy heart healthy goodness. As long as you're eating the natural stuff that's not infused with processed vegetable oil that is. Just eat it in moderation and stick within you calories...I eat it almost every day and haven't had any problems losing 40+lbs
-
When I first started I had the worst time eating up to my calories...but it's so much easier now! I eat nuts, avocados, cheese...all the high calorie stuff to get up up to my limit, and don't be afraid to treat yourself to a goodie! I have a bar of dark chocolate I usually have a piece of in the afternoon. As for the…

Congrats on taking your first steps :-D. Keep at it and you'll be there before you know it! I started around 220lbs about 6 months ago...I've been through C25k, but I had to work up to it (I couldn't run a minute when I first started). Now I'm running 5ks 2-3X a week and my next goal is a 10k....If I can do it anyone can!…
-
Love it *snif* 6 months ago I could barely run a minute, and the past 2 weeks I've been very successfully jogging my 5ks :)

I understand your frustration....I can't do a push-up either and have never been good at it...I'm getting there with the help of yoga...just keep at it, do as much as you can and eventually you'll get there. As for planks and crunches...I built up using yoga and Pilates. Just make sure you've got good form and keep at it!
