  • Thanks for the kick in the pants! I needed it! I'll report back tonight after the gym...
  • I have 6A4 next! I was planning to do it tonight... but after drinking a bit too much on a night out on Saturday, and feeling less than human, I decided my body could use an extra day off to rest. I feel like I'm progressing on everything except for the neg chin ups. i'm not at a gym, so i just don't have access to a…
  • I'm on stage 6, and moving on to NROL Abs. I'm a little initmidated... but excited. I'm looking forward to hearing about supercharged, because that was definitely on my list to consider as well!
  • cowgirl - that is a great idea. Unfortunately, it's not a piece of equipment that I have available to me. I think I'm at a disadvantage on this one, because I do have a good 30 - 40 pounds I could stand to lose. All that extra weight makes those negative chin ups HARD. Let me know if you try it!
  • I've got my 3rd A workout tomorrow, and I'm really hoping it goes better than last time! I think overall I prefer the A workout -- Or maybe it's just that I REALLY hate that push press!
  • I don't know what was wrong with me, but for my 2nd A workout, I went for those neg chin ups and completely sank. I had NOTHING. I'm really disappointed... I should be IMPROVING not regressing!! I'm going to try and really watch that I'm getting enough protein the next few days, and hopefully the next A workout will be…
  • Leanne, I hope you find a solution for you that works! I've had to modify a lot because I have limited resources at the gym in my apartment complex. I have no olympic barbell. I don't have cable machines. BUT, I've been determined to get this done, and I'm seeing results! Sometimes you just have to make do with a situation…
  • I am still sore from my Monday workout. My entire upper body was feeling it, and even my core. I don't know if it was from sucking it in during that neg chin up or what... but DANG, i haven't had that much soreness in my core the whole time I've done this!! Completed workout B tonight even with my residual DOMS - it went…
  • I think relative to my body weight, 6 seconds really isn't too bad. I'm still overweight and working on that. I'm feeling a little soreness tonight in my upper body from last night's session... I'm thinking tomorrow it'll be worse! But to a degree I'm glad I'm feeling it, because it means even with the short workout, I was…
  • I would have liked to have done better on the neg chin up. My longest was a skimpy 6 seconds. Oh well, I guess that just means there's room for improvement!
  • I'm planning on starting stage 6 tonight. So excited! I'm really looking forward to a shorter workout. I overall enjoyed stage 5, but yeesh, the time was just getting insane!
  • Thanks for the advice on Abs, Ladies. I think that's where I'm going to go next. Beeps - wearing a bikini in 2013 is definitely on my to-do list. You can do it!
  • Hey ladies, I've mostly lurked on this daily chat thread, but I remember seeing that a few of you were trying the NROLAbs. Since I'm just about to move to stage 6, I'm already thinking ahead to what I want to do next -- because I love too much the results I'm getting with this program. Could you give me a heads up on what…
  • I've got one more A and one more B workout left in stage 5. I'm pretty sure I'll go on with 6. I'm kind of ready to switch things up a bit!
  • You can do it! Everyone has good advice re: the balance. I definitely had to decrease weights for anything that was one legged. It was fine! Keep on keeping on. Try a couple of the workouts before you decide that it's not for you. If it's not the right thing for you, at least you can say you tried it!
  • This thread has been quiet lately, how's everyone doing with stage 5? I had such a long break right after stage 4 that I've regressed a bit. Most notably on the wide grip pull down. Which is frustrating, because I feel like I'm starting over on those. Anyways, I'm sore after having finished my first A and B workouts, I…
  • I bought some to try, and couldn't handle it, and I felt like it upset my stomach a bit. I know I'm a bit low on my protein intake in general, but I'm having a hard time finding something that I can tolerate to supplement it.
  • I agree with everyone else. Stage 1 workouts were relatively short. I'm on stage 5 right now, and these take me about 90 mins, and a bit longer on days that include HIIT. That's if I'm taking the full rest period (which I usually do, because I'm working HARD).
  • I've been working with a limited gym that's available to me and only have dumbbells available. Honestly, it's not perfect, but I think it's fine. Anywhere the book suggests you use a barbell, I just use two dumbbells. Bottom line, it's working. I'm getting results and making gains, and I'm not having to spend a bunch on a…
  • I'm hoping to start Stage 5 this week, too! I've had a bit of delay finishing up with 4 (just one workout left!), so hopefully by the weekend I'll be ready to go :-) There were several things I quite liked about Stage 3, so I'm not exactly sorry to see them returning. Except BWM.... that just might do me in!
  • I"m just at the halfway point with Stage 4, having completed 2 A and B workouts. There's lot of exercises in here that I just do not enjoy, but I get through it. I'm making a few gains here and there, and I feel like I'm doing really awesome with the narrow underhand pull down :-)
  • For quite a while I've only been able to get in 2 lifting sessions per week. I just can't do more with the length of time these workouts take, and it's been really fine. I'm still able to make reasonable gains, and to an extent, I feel like my body needs the rest. Hope your baby is feeling better soon!
  • I had kind of a longer break between stage 3 and 4 than I intended and I've finally completed my first A and B workouts. And I'm remembering that there were several moves that I wasn't really fond on the first time around. I upped most of my weights, and I'm definiteily FEELING IT. I was kind of surprised that we don't…
  • I've been taking the full rest. Even if my heart rate comes down, I know that if I'm pushing myself to the most I can do for those 6 reps, I feel like the rest is short. I have it on a timer, and keep track of it really well. While the overall workout does take a lot of time, I never feel like the rest was too long. Then…
  • I like this one a lot too, I just wish it weren't quite so time consuming. I'm spending nearly 2 hours, and that doesn't include HIIT. I'm certainly not so delusional to think these workouts will be getting any shorter, I would just have an easier time scheduling it for 3x a week if I didn't have to block out so much time.
  • Due to some home gym limitations, I'm doing B and then A. I finished the 3rd B workout today. So just over half done! Well, sort of. I still have to do the HIIT tonight, but it's just too time consuming to get that one in before I head to work. I'm actually really liking this stage, there's a lot of exercises I really…
  • 105 seconds IS a long rest. After some exercises, I feel like I need it. Some I don't (particularly when you get to the ab section in workout B) Overall I like stage 3, but I worked up much more of a sweat with stage 2, with my heart really going with all those steps and lunges and such. Also, I think that BWM might be the…
  • I wish that I could offer advice. I can only commiserate. I have no good way to get off that dang ball.
  • Hi, Ladies I have just one more workout from Stage 2 left to complete, and then I'll be on to Stage 3. About how long do these Stage 3 workouts take? I'm scheduled pretty tight, and often have to get my workouts in the morning before heading off to work. I'd like to be able to plan ahead :)
  • I'd like to complete my C25K (or at least near it! Week 7 would be a success). Continue Zumba 2x week. Riding 3-4x week. I also really need to work on cleaning up my diet. I'm typically within my calorie goals, but not always making good and healthy choices.
