A food scale is your best tool for this. In recipes that list 4 oz that will be raw unless it states otherwise and again food scale to measure.

When using the database there are options for raw and cooked, so just make sure you are using the one for method you are using. Also sometimes I will weigh something and picked the wrong one on how it is listed in the database. 1 oz equals 28 grams (actually 28.349) so you can convert it to meet the database listing.

What are these people weighing it at these days? Really eat at the recommendation for 2 weeks you will likely get your 10 lbs and therefore the same self control and motivation. You need protein you are not going to get that from you fruit and veggies! If you do it for 2 weeks and don't get the results what have you lost?

How about we make a deal? Eat at MFP recommended calories for 2 weeks and see how much you drop in weight? I bet it will be close to your 10 pound number. The first week you will put out big numbers because of losing water weight anyway even without the fast. :flowerforyou:

Well you are becoming more aware of what you are eating so that is a good thing! You probably eat less calories then you did 3 days ago so you are going in the right direction!!

If you are entering from your HRM and they are entering from the database that could very well explain it. When I enter from the database I cut the number at least in half of what I think I actually burned.

I appreciate the opinion while I get that there isn't a magic number but was hoping for there to be some guidelines. I did a search on google and saw a few saying under 20% is ok but that was on body building forums not exactly the same thing as I am doing.

Yes it can be a a major " holy whatever " moment. I have my goals set up like this so far 220 start 199 first goal 174 is second ( I will be overweight instead of obese) 150 is my end goal for now. I also have a goal of doing the zombie run in Aug. with my son.
