Howi sad that people are called alcoholics if they say they love wine. Are we Beefaholics, or chipoholics, or candyholics? It amazes me the names we are called on a website where we should encourage each other. I encourage us all! We are in this together!

Since Jan 1. I have lost 6 ibs but nothing more since the middle of Feb evn though I upped my exercise. It is so frustrating!

Hey there! I am 56, 5 yrs into menopause. I gained 20 lbs in the first yr. I used to be able to lose fairly quickly in the past but not since reaching menopause. I am on 1200 calories and work out 5 or 6 days a week. My doctor says my body is at 'its happy weight.' Well. being overweight and a risk forhealth-related issues…

I get up every morning at 4:00 am to work out. Otherwise I cannot fit it in unless it is Zumba night which occurs every Mom and Wed night..

Thanks everyone for the tips. I actually put in my own calorie intake of 1200 based on the fact that I am 5'2, weighed 15, am 55, and have a sit-down desk job. Maybe if I let MFP calculate my calories it will be better. I didn't know that MFP deducts calories for you to lose. Thanks everyone!

I have two friends using them and they have both lost weight! They said that the biggest difference is that their appetite has decreased significantly.

My girlfriend has been on it for a couple of weeks. She has lost 4 lbs. She says that her appetite has been cut drastically. She also has lost her craving for sweets. Also, a co-worker just started 2 weeks ago with the same results - she has lost 6 lbs.

Yes, I am a weekend warrior (sinner) too! Mexican, pizza, lots of wine, ice cream cake, chips n dip - UGH! Of course I gained weight! I have no weekend willpower!

I am over 50 and totally understand what you are saying! I have the book and am going to try and follow it! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

I try to every day. That way I can tell if I am getting off track and need to focus more on calorie intake. :smile:

I bought it and I am very impressed! What he states in there is so true - calories are calories - muscle burns more fat than just cardio. I am still planning on taking my Zumba class next week but I will be adding weights. I love the book so far! :smile:
