  • I haven't read all of the pages, but I'd also like to add that the majority of sexual assault victims are assaulted by someone they KNOW. Odds are, they aren't meeting them Halloween night. Also, we are assuming the parents with them were HER parents. She could have been a friend if they were in a group. And I've known a…
  • I've lost about 2 lbs and 1/2 inch here and there in the past 4 months since I started a lifting program. The past month was dedicated to increasing the protein in my diet. Trial and error, but I am now more comfortable with being able to get the protein I need. hotandfit was so kind as to look at my diary and point out my…
  • I am of the belief that in order to better yourself in just about every aspect of life, you seek advice from people who are at a place you want to BE, not on the same journey and not behind you. I'm not going to ask financial advice of my friend who lives paycheck to paycheck-unless that is how I want to live. And I'm not…
  • raw fish. My DH loves sushi and I have tried so hard to like it, but the texture just makes me gag. The sushi with cooked stuff in it I like.
  • I've approached several women at my gym and told them how great they looked, asked advice on what to do, etc. The way I see it, you ask people for advice who look how you WANT to look, not how you look or worse. I feel the same in all aspects of life-I ask wealthy people for money advice, not poor people. And I check out…
  • I read right before you went into surgery, but hadn't looked at the pictures. My goodness what a journey you have traveled. I hope you continue to heal well and quickly and that you continue to get results you are striving for. COngrats!
  • May I ask why you are running on a minor knee injury, especially if you haven't been well enough to do your TRAINING runs? This makes me nervous that you are heading toward a MAJOR knee injury. That said, don't eat anything you are not used to eating. I'd do a bit of carb loading before the race. And be sure to eat enough…
  • YES! I just got a pair a few weeks ago and LOVE lifting in them. I also like running in them on the treadmill, but I've found that when you first use them on a treadmill, you will notice there isn't the cushion any longer so your strike is LOUD.
  • It sucks, but it 100% depends on the runner. My longest run prior to my 1/2 was 10 miles. BUT, if I had run it like a RACE, I'm not sure I would have wanted to do a 1/2 3 weeks later. If you treat it as a training run and have been ramping up, then I say go for it. If you were going for time, I'd say wait until the January…
  • I wanna do 1 pull up!!!!runs away cryingSeriously-Fantastic work!
  • If you will be running/walking, go to a good running store to be fitted. I was fitted in Asics. My new loves are Vibram fivefingers, especially when I'm lifting. I felt my feet rolling forward in my running shoes when lifting, so got the Vibrams. Now every part of my foot is gripping the floor for a sturdy base.

  • 1. Tomorrow, you will wish you would have started TODAY 2. Your children are not an EXCUSE to not spend time on yourself. They are the REASON to spend time on yourself.--I wish I would have been told this 7 years ago before my first was born. 3. Learn from people who look like you want to look like in the future. Do not…
  • I should also elaborate that the pain is not DURING lifting. It is after. And I am a girl, so not like I have major hand strength or anything. I'll look into how I'm gripping in bench. I actually think that may be the culprit since the issue seems to be worse on arm days, not so much on leg days.
  • Turned on gradually, turned off the second my second baby was born. NO desire to ever have more kids. 2 is PLENTY for us.
  • Routine is here-sorry you have to scroll down a bunch, but I'm on weeks 1-4(finish week 3 on Thursday.) http://www.simplyshredded.com/the-ultimate-female-training-guide.html I started combining the arm workouts so instead of them being spread out, I do all of the moves both arm days instead of splitting them up. It just…
  • Va Va VOOM!!!!! Great work!
  • The reason "they" say not to eat at night is because TYPICALLY people sit down in front of the TV and don't pay attention to serving size, eat snack items like chips, popcorn(the buttered kind), and ice cream. I sit down to my shows with greek yogurt, agave nectar and apple pieces. I think I'm fine;-)
  • Heavy. Also, keep in mind that if definition is what you are after, then you need to drop body fat. You can lift til the cows come home, but if your body fat percentage is high, no amount of lifting will get rid of the fat that is covering the muscles themselves.
  • I wouldn't increase load by more than 10% and you loaded it at more than 10%. If you were at 95, the max load should have been 104/105.
  • I actually don't weigh often because of the whole "Who the heck knows where that weight came from" business. I take measurements and pictures. I weigh about every 2 weeks on a rest day, first thing in the morning after I pee sans clothing. Scale hasn't moved for me, but I've lost inches. End of the day I could weigh 200…
  • I've been battling this for a LONG time. I started asking myself EVERY TIME I ATE, "Are you hungry or bored, stressed, mad?" Even at dinner. If I'm bored, stressed, mad, etc, I grab some water and a straw, sit in my chair downstairs so my kids won't bug me and take 5 minutes.
  • When I feel like that, I read the success stories here. It reminds me what I'm working TOWARDS and puts the time into perspective. NOONE lost 20 inches in 1 week.
  • I have to smile whenever I see your posts. DH is Jeff and my first name begins with V;-)
  • Greek Style plain yogurt steel cut oatmeal
  • cook broccoli slaw in a bit of sesame oil. Add chicken. Drizzle with asian dressing(soy ginger is my fave) and top with a few mandarin oranges. Num num!
  • Boy name I never used: Donovan My DDs are Rio and Sydney (Rio is named after the Duran Duran song. I wanted a song for my name when i was a kid, and thought the name would be really cool for a little girl. DH luckily agreed) Other girl names considered were Annika, Summer and Brooklyn
  • Feel free to add me. I'm on week 2 of the program on SimplyShredded.com. I slightly modified it for me, but.... I finished a 1/2 marathon in September and couldn't WAIT to get back to lifting.
  • My goal is to lose the fluff(I have about 20 lbs of it right now) by April for my cruise. If I feel at that time that I'd like to add to my muscle mass, I'll start bulkying then;-) First things first..... Good luck with it--you'll have to take cycle pics of before your bulk, after bulk and then after a cut:-)
