Buckwheat pasta is delicious, remember to rinse it under the hot tap once cooked or it sticks together in a blob!!

I'm a pescatarian, if I didn't count the fruit and veg I'd be in trouble

Protein makes you feel full. If you can eat soy, anything with soya in is good such as soya yoghurts, soya desserts, tofu. Lentils are good, red lentils take 18 minutes to boil into a thick soup with whatever vegetables you fancy or make a lentil loaf which you can slice and eat cold. Make sure your food portions are BIG…

cook omelette very thin and until cooked through.

Instead of bread use rice spring roll wrappers or a thin egg omelette to wrap sandwich stuff. Eat veg in place of rice, potato, pasta, etc

My results came back as peri menopause, but my doctor is ignoring that and sending me for scans and more tests in case it is something more serious.... I know what hot flashes, night sweats and irregular periods add up to :ohwell:

I think I'll be trying these, they sound great

I carry a pocket fan, always wear layers so I can strip a lot off, eat soy or have soy milk every day, do 30 minutes light exercise every day, take agnus castus in the mornings and black cohosh at night. Other than that, I just remember it will end eventually

Get your doctor to run a blood test for coeliacs, you can't test for it after you have been gluten free for more than a few weeks. You may find it is just wheat (not gluten) that causes your symptoms.

I get Taifun tofu sausages

Even tapping your feet when sitting down helps. Keep any part of your body moving (more than normal) and it burns more calories. Who cares what others think ? We're all getting healthier

Buy a pedometer. Work out your stride length when walking and put that in the pedometer. (stride length=mark out a starting and finishing line for a known distance and count your steps between the two, divide the distance by the number of steps) Go for a walk, see how long it takes you to do the walk, the distance then…

It seems to be in everything. If it isn't straight out of the ground or the sea I try to avoid buying it. Watch out for the term 'natural flavouring', if that is in the ingredient list it is often from wheat derivatives. I cook from scratch most of the time to avoid it and because it is quicker. I used to spend hours in…

When you say in the lower 10% does that mean you would only exercise at heart rate 98-101 ? 220-44= 176 176x0.6=106 176x0.8=141 so lower 10% is between 106 & 109 my resting heartrate is 64 a minute (approx)

Have you found the secret?
-
What have you let back into your diet? You may be reacting to a food you are eating. Wheat would do this if you had eliminated it before and now started eating it again.
-
It could be triggered by something you are eating, now you are eating less your body is reacting to it. Does the indigestion start after a particular meal? What does it contain? Wheat? Tomatoes? Pickles? Vinegar? Cabbage? Cucumber? Yeast? Onion? Any of the above can cause indigestion, to name just a few that I know other…

Try giving up all wheat products for a month, if it disappears you know to avoid wheat (it is known to cause the distended stomach)
-
Not myself, but interested to know if anyone gave up wheat products. I understand that wheat can make symptoms worse so would be interetsed if anyone has found this to be true Christine

Try cooking your normal meals and replace any starchy carbs (rice, pasta, potato) on your plate with large amounts of veg instead. That way you'll cook one meal for everyone to enjoy, just choose something lower calorie for your portion Hope that helps

I can find some smells nauseating at different times and find them OK just a few hours later. I also can smell smoke, a burning smell, at odd times and usually in the most inappropriate places. Definitely haven't noticed my chest get any larger, just my luck

Hi Know where you're coming from. I was 'lucky' as I had to give up wheat when I discovered I was intolerant to it. The first 14lb fell off me, just stuck with fighting to lose the other 14lb LOL. There are bad weeks, even worse weeks but always good weeks  . I found reducing carbs such as rice & potato helps (I…

Use rice wraps or make your own wraps with buckwheat flour (a thin pancake) to make your own GF sandwiches. I've even made a wrap from an egg and water which was excellent. Make rice dishes you can eat cold (don't forget to take your fork). Also salads in a box. If you have a microwave available then the world is your…

Layers are good, a pocket fan is very helpful and even a big fan in the bedroom for those volcanic moments (if your other half doesn't mind). I take Agnus castus every day and it reduced the night sweats to a manageable level. Also avoid caffeine if possible. Hoping to try black cohosh to see if that works better
