I see your point, but for many here, who have been eating very low calories for an extended period of time. They could very well benefit hormonally from days of increased calorie intake, opposed to a static low number. Even zig zaging can bring you up to maintenance or above for a few days a week. This is why i think some…

Ron i agree with you to a degree, but there are some hormonal benefits to eating higher calories, around workout days not just performance. I know you like a good debate, but im too tired to start pulling study's out to prove it. So will leave it at that

It works right away for me with doses of 3 grams and upwards 5 being the limit, or as schustc mentioned you could combine it with magnesium. I get taurine, from a bulk powder supplier online, but you can get it local from health stores too. And yes its the same stuff they put in redbull it has multiple uses, one being a…

Not being rude but that's rubbish. It wont impact your metabolic rate whatsoever. If it did my metabolism would be in the gutter. Op calorie cycling can work well, don't be afraid to give it a shot, its the only way your going to find out what works for you.

Ok a snippet from the HST web site. To correct my original quote of 2 weeks Its actually 9-12 days. So what is "Strategic Deconditioning"? What does strategic Deconditioning mean and how do we apply it to continue growing? Strategic deconditioning is simply a period of time free from training which is long enough to allow…
-
I think its about two weeks, some programs like Hypertrophy-Specific Training (HST) Have a strategic de-load period, for 2 weeks before, starting another cycle. So its safe to assume two weeks, should be ok. However you if you are in a calorie deficit this changes things.

Just hit the calculate button again lol

My advice is, if it aint broke don't fix it! It may be worth a look at in the future, if you have have hit a genuine plateau, and nothing else seems to be working. Also bear in mind, with higher calorie days, also comes lower calorie days. So again that's something to take into consideration, If you are likely to struggle…
-
Of course its the same calorie outcome overall weekly, but calorie cycling can be effective on a hormonal level. That's how it can help break plateaus. Some days you eat at maintenance or above, this can be effective for people who have been eating low calories for a while. So in essence, your having a mini re-feed some…

An easier way to do this would be. 1. Get a pen and paper, write down the zigzag plan you have been given. 2 only eat what the plan tells you no more no less. 3 forget about using mfp to log exercise, the plan you wrote down will already have accounted for it. 4 Use mfp mealy as a tool to track/meet the daily calorie…
