I love it...only downside is that I don't see the calorie burn that I see from strict cardio. I know that I'm building muscle and strength and in time, that helps to make up for it, but none the less, it's hard to break out of that mode...when it's all I've known. I benched 90 last week...personal best and what I maxed out…

Anything that will get you moving. walking, running, biking. Start slow and progress from there. If you can't run for very long, go as far as you can and then walk the rest, or just start out walking and work your way up to jogging. There are programs to help you progress as well - one is the couch to 5K - commonly called…

You all can friend me if you'd like as well. I've been on here and up and down for about 2 years. I met my goal and then fell partway back into bad habits and stopped logging...if I don't log it, it doesn't count...right? WRONG!!! Anyway, I've found that having a goal other than just a weight loss goal helps me to stick to…

You can friend me, if you'd like. I've been on MFP for almost 2 years. I met my goal and then backslid somewhat. Back on it now, though. I'm on just about every day and wouldn't mind encouraging you along.

I'm looking for the same...send an invite
-
oh ok...
-

-
thanks. I'll look for the group

Same thing happens to me. I have to concentrate on how I "walk" on the elliptical to avoid it happening. If I do a heel to toe motion - I avoid the numbness and pain. I do revert sometimes - and I can always tell when the numbness starts :). I think it comes from being up on your toes and the pressure from that type of…

I have a spinning bike at home - cost me $250 - works great - I use spinning (spinning.com) videos or ipod podcasts or work outs that I can follow at home. I love it. I also love to ride outside, but the weather does not always cooperate and there are literally NO hills where I live - so the spinning simulated hills…

Request me if you'd like. I've met my goal and then back slid a bit. I'm always looking for active friends to motivate and to motivate me.

This is sort of genius and I can't believe how ingrained eating "breakfast foods" for breakfast is in our heads...
-
Thank you all - I really appreciate all the ideas...it's time to break out of the oatmeal rut
-
AMEN to everything you just wrote....I'm having a really hard time today - I just want to eat crap and I'm usually really really good at being good....
-
You look so much younger. Congrats. Way to go

Check out the book 'New Rules of Lifting for Women'. I have had back problems as well and it actually helped me to lift. You just have to be careful and know your limits. And yes, definitely talk to your doctor first.

yes - what she said - once a week the same day and time every week is plenty. Your weight will fluctuate daily - heck hourly...don't stress about it.
-
Breakfast is pretty much the same for me every day - but my dinners and lunches vary...take a look - I ALWAYS eat my exercise calories back...ALWAYS. losing weight fast is never a smart idea - it's simply not sustainable and you will set yourself up for failure down the road.
-
Never heard of it - I'll have to look that one up. thanks.

Welcome to the kick hashimotos club. There is a book I recommend to everyone I meet with hypothyroid - it's called Living well with Hypothyroidism - it covers all the diseases that can cause Hypothyroid and gives solid advice on how to live well with this disease. Best of luck to you.

I'm curious. What does an attack feel like? I'm sorry for being ignorant (or naïve), but I don't think I've experienced this.
-
me too - request me
-
Me too - haven't put it all back on - but need to get back on track. Feel free to add me. You support me, I support you...we all win.

You can always throw in some nuts to increase the protein.
-
I'm in the same boat...add me if you'd like.

Hi there - it sounds like you are already doing all the right things you can do to help yourself. Exercise and diet (eating well, not dieting per se) are so important and usually the hardest change people have to make. I'd suggest getting a second dr's opinion or ask your current doc to let you see your levels. What they…

I've known I've had HAshi's since I was 19 and it was a Nurse Practitioner who found it, not the doctor. Sometimes they tend to pay more attention in my experience. I really would like to get my hands on your previous docs...who doesn't check a female for thyroid disease with all of those symptoms? If you don't get the…
