Great list...mostly healthy stuff too. Whenever I need a calorie boost - peanut butter is my go to. Love love love it

I'm digging the quiche idea

My box does a "first five" - probably the same as an on ramp. Four of the first five kicked my *kitten*, but I tend to feel like I need more cardio and calorie burn even after a WOD. Maybe it's old habits, but I also look at some of the people who only do Crossfit and quite possibly their lifestyle choices contribute, but…

So...basically, this is how it works; a person who is say 150 pounds will burn about 1600 calories just sitting around all day (sedentary lifestyle). So, if they didn't want to lose anything, they would eat that many calories just to maintain. If they want to lose weight, they eat less or burn off what they eat by…

41, been on here a few years off and on. I know when I slip...I gain...so MFP keeps me on track. It's getting harder, for sure. The weight comes on SOOOO easily for me even at the slightest slip up.

Welcome aboard. you've found a great place to help you along the way

I would say you need to define what deficit means to you. Deficit can simply be less than what you normally eat, but if you are eating less today than you did yesterday, in theory, you would lose weight (over time). Most people, if really overweight, start out at a deficit that is not necessarily severe, but enough to…

I have this problem too. It's actually quite common. what helps me is to concentrate on a heal to toe motion throughout the workout. The harder I have to work, I find that the more apt I am to go up on the balls of my feet or toes without really thinking about it and that makes it worse.

I was wondering the same...

41 - lost about 22 lbs a few years ago, have gained back about half of it...back here and back at it.

I'm 5'6" and although I would love to be 145 - I have to be SUPER strict to maintain that. I was down to 135 at one point and looked sickly; more or less starving myself and over exercising. It really depends on your body type - how much muscle vs. fat ratio you have etc. I am most comfortable around 150 and I look good…

Count me in...I'm struggling with motivation, injuries, work stress...we can support each other.

I was diagnosed when I was 19 - Hashimotos here too. I've been level for a long time, Thank God. My med dosage only changed while I was pregnant for my daughter. I know a lot of people do not have that luxury. There is a book called "Living Well with Hypothyroidism" that gave me a lot of good advice and ideas. It hits on…

When I was lifting last year the only way I could make the high protein macro was with protein shakes. Friggin Carbs in everything. I need to find a quick easy high protein breakfast. I tend to go to the typical high carb stuff because it's quick and easy (oatmeal, cereal, etc) except on the weekends when I have time to…

Welcome. I ask a lot of questions :)

DONE! Changed to this last week. We'll see how it goes. Also changed my macros so that protein requirement is much higher, but I am having a hard time meeting that macro most days.

A tampon would be in the wrong hole...just sayin'

Excellent, thank you.

^^ This...100% agree Also - try to refocus your thoughts on food - food is fuel...sugar has basically zero nutritional value and therefore you are not fueling your body for success. I love breads and chips, but when I look at the macros of the nutrition they offer, it makes me rethink that choice.

Just started about 6 weeks ago. I really really like it. The best thing for me is that if I went to a gym to work out; I would never do the weight lifting and other core workouts that Cross Fit offers. I would just go do cardio and that would be it, well and maybe some sit ups and push ups, on a good day. It's hard, but…

I've read about the TDEE in the past. I'll have to look into that again. Unfortunately as I've moved up in my job, it has become more and more sedentary so I typically have my setting at that level because I do pretty much sit at a desk all day.
