Yaaaaaasss! Great job! I'm just under 4 lbs. away from my goal and once I get there, I will be right under the healthy weight/overweight line. I kind of feel the same way - 15 more lbs. after that puts me in the middle of my BMI range, but I feel like I may end up looking emaciated if I keep going that far. Maybe another…

Awesome!! Congratulations. Your next goal will be reached in no time.

Congrats on reaching your goal!! Way to go!

Malt beverages and wine are a throwaway for me, unfortunately, which makes it easy for me to overindulge. I typically limit myself to two so I don't feel terrible the next day, but I never get full or have problems drinking them as far as dumping or carbonation are concerned, which is something I have to really make sure I…

The first month or so is not indicative of what you can expect for the majority of your weight loss after that. First of all, you're retaining post-op fluids from the IVs you were given. I still had some fluid retention from that when I went to my six-week checkup. A good way to tell - poke your ankle area. Does it take a…

Woooohoooo!! Way to level up! Congratulations.

You've come this far. Don't cheat! I've heard stories from support group where someone cheated on the pre-op diet, the doctor walked in, heard they hadn't done what they were supposed to, refused to do the surgery and that was that. The pre-op diet is designed to shrink your liver so it's easier to move during surgery. But…

I feel ya. The last amount of pounds to my goal that I'm struggling so hard with get me to "healthy weight" and the fact it's SO CLOSE and is so hard to get there has been driving me nuts.

Soooo... tying up my April goals (May goals thread is now posted!): 1. Go up a weight bar in my Muscle Max class. Got this one, finally. Been lifting on heavier bars for the last two classes. Struggling some with biceps with the heavy bar, but it'll come. 2. Figure out camping-friendly food options for our Spring Break…

1. Make it all the way through biceps in my Muscle Max class without stopping on the new weight bar I'm using (the other areas are going great!). 2. Figure out what's going on with my hips (it's starting to impact my running ability). Maybe switch to walking for a bit? 3. NO MORE FREAKIN' CHEESE CRACKERS. THEY ARE…

If you're weight lifting several times a week in addition to 7 days a week of exercise, it's a good bet most of your fat is turning into muscle, which weighs more. Setting aside the number on the scale, how are your measurements? Still losing inches in your waist? Additionally, that much exercise probably warrants an…

Welcome to a new you! Congratulations, and be gentle with yourself. We're here when you need us.

Whoa, you two! Congratulations!

@vanillarose77, so glad you're here! Welcome to the group. There is so much great information that is constantly shared between members here. I hope you find it helpful. I had a lot of problems eating right after surgery, too. Like @Tawnykakers1 says, chew thoroughly and slowly. You honestly just cannot chew enough when…

Today's NSV courtesy of my 6-year-old son: "Mommy, can I see your tummy? Ooooh, it's getting SO SMALL. How did your tummy get so small when it used to be so big?" I really love that kid.

Always love your posts. So much experience and truth to draw from. Thank you for sharing with us!

Welcome! This group is really great, full of supportive and friendly people. Feel free to add me if you'd like - I was sleeved back in February of 2015.

3-4 weeks post-surgery is typically when most people hit their first stall. This is completely normal! It will pass. Your body is adjusting to everything post-surgery, and it's possible you're still retaining fluids from the IVs you were given in the hospital. (A good way to check for that - poke your ankle area on the…

1. Go up a weight bar in my Muscle Max class. Yeah. You have to attend the class for this to happen. I'm going for the first time in two weeks today so we'll see. 2. Figure out camping-friendly food options for our Spring Break trip - and stick to them. Nailed this! Yay! I did indulge a little but I was mindful of what I…

I like to drink some decaf coffee with creamer when I get the nighttime munchies. It's hot, soothing and a bit filling. I'm a coffee junkie, though. Still have my daily cup every morning.

My surgeon took FOREVER to progress. Our regimen was: 2 days post-op = clear liquid 4 weeks = full liquid 2 weeks = pureed 2 weeks = mechanical soft regular food after that as tolerated. They originally did 2 weeks full liquids but found that when they switched to 4, they stopped having to do the majority of any repairs to…

Ugh. That period of eating gets SO OLD but it's worth it, so stick with it. My go-to foods during that time were greek yogurt (I would get plain and then use water enhancer drops of whatever flavor to choose my own adventure), mashed sweet potatoes, cottage cheese, and scrambled eggs (this was later, not at first). That…

Yes! I can only imagine how hard that must be. See if you can get an inexpensive pill crusher (my hospital actually gave me two) and crush your meds instead. It will be so much easier on your stomach. Congratulations on the beginning of your journey! Your life is about to change in amazing ways.

I wish I had a good answer for you, but I'm struggling with it myself. The hardest thing is tops because I have absolutely NO IDEA how my breasts will measure. I think the difference there is going to get fitted with new bras so I have a definitive new size instead of the guess work/poor man's measurements I've been doing…

I do classes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and run/walk at least two more days during the week. Monday's class is TurboKick, a cardio kickboxing class. Tuesday is MuscleMax, a guided strength training class. Thursday is TurboFit, a combination of TurboKick and fit camp. For my run/walk days, I am currently doing the C210K…

My company just changed the dress code policy to dressy (but not business) casual as long as you are not interacting with any customers. I have to go jeans shopping AGAIN because I only have two pair now that are literally not falling off of me. The last round of thrift store jeans are just too big now.

I can't begin to tell you how jealous I am right now. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?? Very cool.

Congratulations! There are benefits to both and many people here have done well on either. Just make sure you make the decision that's best for YOU in conjunction with your doctor.
