first weigh-in! not sure if my starting weight was a fluke based on where the scale was on our textured tile floor, or if this is just up because i've been doing the 5-4-3-2-1 challenge and i am sporting some SORE muscles (only on day 2) so i'm actually showing up. i thought that 198.6 was artificially low when i got it.…

FYI, my calories burns are from using my Garmin heart rate monitor/chest strap. I was keeping my HR up near 160 easily in the early classes, and maxing out over 180 at times (had to take a breather there). By a few months in i was struggling to average the 160 because i couldn't keep my heartrate up that high and was…

When i first started doing Zumba, was at my heaviest and most out-of-shape, and was burning over 700 calories per class. Every month or so, as i was dropping weight, and gaining cardio fitness, my calories burned dropped until i was averaging like 500 calories per class when i was 20 lbs down. That includes doing the…

bought it about a month ago. with other fitness activities i'm not a set schedule with it, but the times i've worked the dvd's into my workouts, its been awesome. it kicks my butt every time! the "new to class feature" which is same class, but with instructional breaks in between sets is really nice. she keeps me motivated…

Thanks for the info! I also was happy to see my sleep graphic. I knew i wasn't sleeping well and now i can see it :-) I think i will opt out of trying to track my food on BodyMedia unless they can improve the food database. I'll just put in the daily estimate. I also was sad to see how much i have to sit around all day for…

Well i got a deal on both, so now i am wearing my BodyMedia Fit for the first time today, and Turbo Fire should arrive in a few days! let the fun begin!!
-
i got totally sidetracked last night and missed the groupon!!!!!! grrrrrr.... dang it.
-
ha, i just did the same thing! might order one. wish it was a deal on the one with bluetooth, but i guess i dont need every minute trackign on my phone, or i might become really obsessed with it ;-)
-
is it really hard? i'm considering ordering that (have another discussion going trying to decide between TF and the body media fit calorie-burn measurer) workout but i'm on the fence. i tend to pick up fairly quickly in classes i attend, but the video they have on their website does seem a little complicated :-)

I understand neither is super important. however this is a mental game and it can help to have support that works for the individual. My fitness and weight loss results depend entirely on how i follow my lifestyle change, and that depends entirely on what i'm doing to implement and support changes. i love feedback and…

I can get a BMF from costco, the LINK one with bluetooth, and a free 1 year subscription for 199.99 (including S&H). same price as on their website, but comes with a full year of subscription! so now i'm torn again :-)
-
Note that if you buy it online from them, there is a 90 day money back guarantee so if you dont like it or aren't using it, just send it back and you only paid for shipping! I'm pretty sure i'm going to buy TurboFire first!! i'm ready to have some fun!
-
i'm considering purchasing TF. i'll keep an eye on how much this group enjoys it :-)
-
I saw it in store, adn on the site, and couldn't find that it was the bluetooth enabled one anywhere (believe that is called the Link?). i'm def interested now!

Exactly. I pre-log my indoor soccer game (guess whatever my lowest calories burned has been recently and use that as a start) because they are typically late in the evening, i will not have enough time after to make up the calories, and I know i am 99% sure that i will get on the field and play and burn approximately that…
-
Just a note, i wear an HRM while working out, and during my Zumba class, i regularly burn over 700 calories. I dont necessarily eat them all back, but i'm working out hard, somewhere between 80-90% of peak HR on avg.

what did you have to provide to insurance to get them to pay for it? did they do it after you lost all the weight? i want a reduction eventually but am curious what i'll need to do to get insurance to pay for it. i'm currently a DDD, and even when at my ideal weight i'm still a DD / DDD, just a smaller band size...

Sorry for got to quote to show who i was replying to! The app is called "Couch-to-5k" by active.com. has the best plan i've seen. a lot of them don't start at "couch" in my book

i've done it twice through a running shop. i was so far out of shape, that i never ran the full 5k, but it helped, and sped up my completion time significantly. the interval training works, and you build cardio fitness faster than you would think. you will probably have a lot of aches and pains the first few weeks (your…
