You know it never occurred to me that you'd have to pay to enter a race! I'm going to be doing my local parkrun, which is a 5k held every saturday morning, gratis. Ok there's no medals, but they do do t-shirts for people that have made milestones, like hitting 50 parkruns, 100 parkruns etc. And it's a properaly timed…

of course, right now, more than anything, this springs to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KMs3qWFTro

I've just completed week 6 and loving it :) It's hard but doable, and always leaves me high as a kite after each run - because each shows I've improved and achieved! For those of you struggling, repeat days, repeat weeks, slow down, and don't do more than the session! On week 3 after my first 3 minute run I was so stoked…

Deep fried Snickers *drool* Yes, I would totally eat one of these, then log it and run my *kitten* off afterwards in payment :)

If I find it's something I have personal experiences of, I will try to relate, maybe explain my own experiences and how they worked out for me (for good or bad). I try to NOT advise people, firstly because what I would do in a given situation might not be right for them and theirs, and secondly it's my general feeling that…

I believe mfp has protein set pretty low, I quite often find myself going over if I have meat twice in a day, or eggs and meat, so I wouldn't worry too much. Protein itself doesn't turn into fat, it's just another form of energy in the system! I would say if you're going slightly over, but not horrendously, and still…

I think for me when I started here, it was a (calorie counting) diet. But them through my time here I have become motivated to run, cycle and generally be a lot more active - so I can't very well just refer to it as a diet now, it actually IS becoming a lifestyle change. Having said that I'm not sure I'd put it that way if…

I use mine for My Fitness Coach and Zumba. My Fitness Coach is awesome, it's basically an ever-changing workout video, and by far the most-ued game on my wii :)

Well done! You think THIS is great, just imagine how you're going to feel when you hit that 20 minute run at the end of week 5 - and you WILL nail it, just like you nailed this! I know this because I have just completed week 6. And each and every milestone will make you even giddier I can promise! And well done to everyone…

Speaking as a slight devils advocate here, it could be that their internal monologues go something like this: "oh god, she's just trying to rub it in and get us to praise her and tell her how wonderful she is which is the LAST thing we want to do because we feel so awful ourselves" I know this because I have had the same…

If you're the type that visualising things helps, think of this: in order to gain back those 74lbs, you'd have to eat - wait for it - 259,000 calories on top of your bodys requirements! So you probably won't be doing that any time soon! But, as others have said, def see a doc please :flowerforyou:

Don't be surprised or discouraged at not losing any weight within one week! As many have said time and again, you didn't put on the weight overnight, so you won't lose it overnight! I'm a big fan of monthly weigh-ins - if you expect instant success you could be setting yourself up for failure. So keep at it, and don't give…

I wear a lightweight bodywarmer that has zippable pockets, does the trick, and also does for my ipod, keys, gloves and doggy bags. I like to run tooled up lol...

+1. Stay focussed, find yourself a challenge. I'm loving c25k, and have just joined up on the zombie apocalypse challenge on here, there's a few challenges about, go find one that sounds fun, and do it! I don't think that your lack of happiness is really routed in numbers here, perhaps there's more internal worries that're…

I was given good exercises by my chiropractor to do to aid my lower back issues. However the exercise regime is to be thought of as "a prescription" as it won't suit everyone, so rather than telling you what to do, my advice would be to see medical professional, to determine the cause of your back pain, and the best…

Well it seems that this food NSV extends beyond just saying no to extra croissants - today I was given a lindor chocolate bunny, and a HUGE box of thorntons... I put them in the cupboard, but then couldn't get the bunny out of my head, I KNOW how good they taste! So I took off his ears :) 20g, and I was very happy -…

Plus it can be a hand-warmer in winter...

Not sure the dog would agree about how pleasant it is though!

For me it's not about tricking myself - it's actually realising I'm full already! When I started I was registering full at stuffing point, but now I can acknowledge feeling full way before that (doesn't mean I don't still stuff myself, but I'm getting better at not doing it!) Making food last longer by paying more…

:noway: There is no way that 40lb makes the difference between loving someone and not, this guy is an @$$wipe! He has turned his own guilt and insecurities around and tried to make it about you, when it truly isn't. He's just trying to make himself feel better about being a CU Next Tuesday :explode: You are so young (can't…

sounds like you're in good shape then! For me, my resting bpm is around 66, and my "target zone" hr is 124-164 bpm. At the minute, my c25k jogs put my hr up to 164 when jogging, though if I push into a heavy sprint it can go as high as 190 for short bursts. Use your comfort level as a good guage when exercising I would say…
-
38bpm? That seem VERY low - like it's not even registering on this chart that shows fitness levels: http://www.topendsports.com/testing/heart-rate-resting-chart.htm Are you sure that's correct?!
-
Yes, yes it does. I like my men to have a backbone :) Ninerbuff, Klingons are preferable to Ferengi, never forget that! Other than that, I'm looking forward to learning to love 5k races, as I hope to be doing them weekly when I check out of c25k and check in to parkruns :)

<<< Actually re-reading the Dark Elf Trilogy as we speak. Drizzt is a damn sap. He is such an emo  Jarlaxle has the right idea.

hehe, just remember to take that bag out BEFORE sticking your clothes in the wash!
-
"stick and flick" is a method advocated by our local forestry comission around here, and it's intended to flick it to the dense undergrowth, so it's not like people are flicking it at people's windows or anything, it's to get it away from any trodden areas - and ultimately better for the environment than bagging and…

That's just mean!

my warm up / cool down if I'm running is a 5 minute brisk walk each way. If I'm doing a wii fitness coach ession, it gives me various warmups such as grapevines, skipping, kicks, hustling etc for 10 minutes, and generally the end of the session winds down into weights / toning exercises which I feel count as warming down.…
