^ also, what he said! You're eatig way under as it is, if you burn that much in exercise, you should consider eating some back so that your body actually HAS some fuel to go on..

Run, walk, squat jacks, high kicks steps, grapevine - there's a ton of aerobics exercises that gets the heartrate up and burns the calories! If you got access to a wii or the internet, try Zumba out! Are any of them easy? Nope! Burning 600 cals in one session is HUGE, especially if you're not used to working out - so don't…

QFT I'm glad that dogs running free isn't the norm where I am, we all take much more care over keeping our dogs safe and secure. As a dog trainer and an owner of reactive dogs, particularly one who WOULD chase anything fast moving, I feel it is responsible to maintain safe control - so in his case, he stays on a lead the…

Gotta love a bit of Unwinese.Or, Gobbledygook

Do you use a HRM to measure calories burned when exercising? It can make a real difference to the amount you actually "earn" extra on top of your allowance - I found my burn to be a lot lower on my cross trainer than mfp estimates when I got my HRM on to do the business :) On average, a 20 minute session might earn me 200…

This is why I LOVE you Berry!

I also have one or 2 days a month where I'll drink a bottle or two  Just an excuse to jumo on the treadmill and pick up those dumbells!
-
I'm exactly the same as you, and yes I'm losing without giving up my wine :drinker: For me - until my car blew up last week and I've had to re-evaluate outgoing expenditures - I drink wine pretty much every night, between a glass and half a bottle. Just log it! If it fits, go for it.
-
I prefer to save my calories for the evening, especially as I like a drink after work (though thanks to the car blowing up and finances not being in a good way, that's being knocked on the head for a while too!). So from waking til my evening meal I will often have under 500 calories. And I exercise in the evening as well…

Yes. Yes, I think he just possibly did. *reaches for popcorn* < you know, low calorie and within my alllowance, because even though I might be some way from goal it doesn't mean I'm failing, I have lost half a stone so far, and have a good scientific grounding for the knowledge I learn here. Just in case you were wondering…

I decided to Lord-it tonight and consumed microwaved new potatoes with cheddar.. it's only downhill from here my friends!
-
Nope, just straight :drinker: The only reason I'm considering it is because you see 100000++ posts a day on mfp about "eating too little" and eating more to weight less etc! I guess I just wanted to be as accurate as possible, but as you say, my cirrent defecit is working albeit slowly (which I believe is good) I really…

my go-tobreakfast atm is usually granola with pouring yoghurt on top or a smoothie with banana, milk and peanut butter whizzed up together, yum!

True story.

It sounds so wrong, but yes, it works!

Presumtive - I definitely didn't sip the bottle of red that I had for dinner last night :drinker: I love red wine, especially a merlot, and cannot comment on whether it was acquired as it was first given to me as a toddler in a baby cup, so I guess I've always liked it  I love my parents, they also allowed me to dip…

Everyones made a great point, and I would vote shoes as way more important than a hrm especially if you're running. Cost wise though, I'd say scour ebay - I got myself a polar ft4 for 20 quid!

Total upvote for Kilts, always. Ok, actually having seen the "dragon*con kilt blowing", maybe not always. But mostly!
-
This was also my thoughts! I wouldn't *intentionally* just use the cals for alcohol, and I have cut down a lot, but I couldn't rule it out as a possible occurrence! So, if there was the probability that I might actually use the calories for something a bit more nutritious, would it then be advisable to up the activity…

Great input. Thanks everyone for your advice, it was worthwhile...

My general goal is weightloss. When I forst started out on mfp 18 months ago, I was just happy to lsoe weight, and whilst the dreaded "skinnyfat" was bandied about, I would still ratrher have been skinnyfat than fat lol. Now, I have found that to hit my low calorie target and still allow myself the things I want, exercise…

I always straighten my legs on my elliptical.. the action is probably most similar to riding a bike, I straighten my legs on the downpush there as well.. *shrugs*

30 years old, 5ft3  I am often stationary when not working, though I do walk my dogs daily and also have a long day thursdays as three weeks out of the month I run a dog training class for a couple of hours as well. I guess I just worry that much of a higher intake is going to stall things, as in all honesty I've…

I'm totally game for this, I think I've a few pics in my profile and would love something that incorporated my dogs

I guess I'm one of the tattooed people that doesn't like to be defined by the fact i have them  Welcome back to mfp - I no longer fit into the 20s category having unceremoniously been ejected from that bracket a few weeks ago, but I am on the right path with some slow but steady weightloss - keep at it this time!

yup, the hoop is deffo too small, dang! Dog trick hoop it is then, oh well!

That's the kind of rate of loss I'm getting.. I'm happy with it!

I fractured my scaphoid many years ago when I was 15, had to have a cast with the thumb kept out rigid, it was a right pita considering I was a flautist and had my music exams coming up lol... Healing time was about 8 weeks or so, but it took about 4 to be diagnosed prior to that as it was initially missed on the xrays. I…

hmm upon looking at the youtube stuff.. perhaps my hoop is going to be too small for it to work properly as a beginner.. (yes it's a kids hoop from tescos lol, but I thought a hoop was a hoop?!) I'd love to hear people's experiences :)
-
I actually bought myself a hoop the other day because is was 70p and I figured "why not?" - and my backup plan if I couldn't do it was to use it in dog training instead. I've never been able to hula hoop, and now I'm 30. My plan for this weekend is to see if I can actually "get it" - youtube, here I come! Any hints…
