  • I just did the first sweat workout today!! It was tough but I feel great!! I love that the workouts are so reasonably short. Gives me no excuses! A friend of mine has been coming over every day and doing it with me. I will say that as I'm trying to lose weight, you can't solely rely on the workouts though. You really have…
  • Alright friends--I need a little help! I'm having trouble sticking to the calories and doing everything perfectly, just sticking to it on a daily basis. I've been having on and off perfect and then imperfect days and I've plateaued. I haven't lost any weight since the first 5 lbs I lost 2 weeks ago. I'm 23 years old and…
  • I did a realllllly tough training session at the gym on Thursday... After doing the negative sit-up on the Bosu Ball, I couldn't laugh for 2 days without crying out in pain my abs were so sore! I actually think I might have used a little too much weight on a couple exercises so I won't push myself quite so hard next time.…
  • Cutting out carbs is not healthy. Cutting down on carbs like white flower, sugar, and processed foods is good, but you need good carbs (whole grains, fruits, veggies, legumes). I just read a book that broke down the definition of "Carbohydrate" as a hydrated carbon, and you need those to fuel your muscles. When people…
  • This is the most accurate description. I appreciate everyone's advice, but this isn't standard DOMS. I've been a dancer, and been extremely active my whole life so I'm no stranger to muscle soreness. I legitimately feel like I have the flu--whole body aches and severe weakness, like I get winded and a little light headed…
  • I Lost 3 lbs in the first week! I am 161 lbs now, so I'm certainly not a male that weighs 250. And I don't follow his meal plan exactly. I improvise everything and just try to balance my portions and nutrition percentages according to his guidelines. I like to cook, so I make all my own food, I measure, and I track my…
  • I have a 24oz water bottle that is very helpful. It has marker lines that count the ounces up the bottle, and a dial that goes around the top that I use to mark how many bottles I've had. It's just 5 bottles a day, plus one extra glass, and I have it with me everywhere I go, and just sip all throughout the day as I'm…
  • That's fantastic! I just weighed myself today, having been doing the program for only one week, and I'm 4lbs down!!
  • Feel free to add me as a friend! And also, I've just started a new program called The Body Fat Breakthrough by Dr. Ellington Darden. I HIGHLY recommend it!! There's a group for the program here on MFP. In my opinion, its the most motivating book I've ever read and its SO doable. I've been doing the program for a week and…
  • The Body Fat Breakthrough by Dr. Ellington Darden!! It's the only program I've ever done that I was this excited about. Pick up the book immediately would be my advice! It's on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble. It's so simple, straight forward, and 100% based on a study he did on over 100 people--some of which lost up to a…
  • Pick up a book called The Body Fat Breakthrough by Ellington Darden and read it!! It's the most motivating thing I've read/program I've done ever! I was recently just in a slump, not only with health and fitness, but with life in general. And reading that book has me all jazzed again! There's a group for the book/program…
  • I got the book last week and have been following the diet guidelines since then. I'm not necessarily doing the exact meal that he suggests, but still doing the reduced calories and following the 50% complex carbs, 25% protein, 25% fat. I've also been trying to walk after dinner, as well as drinking a gallon of ice water a…
  • When you work out, it subtracts calories from your overall "net" calories. It's like creating a deficit. I try not to pay too much attention to it because I've set my calories for exactly how much I want to consume each day regardless of whether or not I exercise that day. Cheers!
