sorry - no wise words. I know how you feel though, if that's any consolation :drinker:

Have you tried oat milk? That's thick like cows milk (be sure to shake it before you pour it). But - why do you feel the need to have any kind of milk? I've stopped using oat or rice milk in my smoothies now and use water & bananas instead. No loss in taste. If I want something to taste richer or creamer I add coconut milk…

I haven't really told anyone about MFP - not even my husband. It's my little secret and I love it! He kept asking my why I'm on my iPhone every minute, so only yesterday I told him that I have a food diary on it. When I first joined in Jan this year, I sent out invitations to a few family members to see if they wanted to…

today is 5th day of dry body brushing and now I notice that my sweat is really smelly after my exercise. Its been pointed out that its probably the toxins leaving my body and that sounds about right. I think my ankles look smaller but as I didn't measure them I cant say for sure. Swellings behind ears are still there but…

Well, I've just started to do it. It feels nice and invigorating. The person who recommended it to me said it got rid of her swollen ankles. It cannot do any harm, so I will let you know if it does me some good. FYI its the only thing I'm changing at the moment, diet is staying the same. I've had swollen lymph nodes behind…

Lots of evidence that eating flesh is unhealthy - check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wZendyXhU4 On the other hand - being vegan doesn't mean that you are guaranteed to be healthy nor slim. I'm testimony to that. Eating a healthy vegan diet is not easy, but if you are doing it for the right reasons and get your…

Hi - I'm vegan! I also have many food intolerances like nuts and most seeds and beans. I'm in the 3rd week of a 4 week strict detox to try to rid my body of the health problems. The final week is a juice fast (starting on Wednesday). I'm not Indian.....

Avocados are lovely - especially if you sprinkle a tiny bit of sea salt on it. It brings the flavour right out. Delish!

M-E-A-T!!! ALL KINDS OF MEAT. OMG how can people eat that stuff. Every since I was a child I've hated it. It used to stick in my teeth, in my throat, tastes of animals (funny that!) - smells of yuck. As soon as I was old enough to say "ENUF ALREADY" I stopped eating it (aged 10-11yrs, that is)

Hi everyone! Nice to be invited into this group (thanks Ackeebee!) Happy Monday to you too. I really love this MFP - it's changing my life.

As a tip for the future: Soak whole pack of any beans overnight, cook (with nothing added to water), then divide into bags and freeze. This way you always have beans to hand, ready to add straight into any recipe.

Oh dear! see this site, it might help. http://homecooking.about.com/od/howtocookvegetables/a/blkbeantips.htm I think the beans may be old. You need to make sure that when you buy dried beans you get them from a store that has a high turnover as sometimes they can stay on the shelf for years. ;-(

Hi - so many great replies to your original post! It must have given you the push you need to do what you need to do! It's making me want to go and and walk now. Do the loud music thing and dance around your home, sining at the top of your voice. It really is great fun and works up a sweat. I love that.
