On a cruise, I take the stairs everywhere. A very drunk woman on a ship once told me that if you always take the stairs, you can eat or drink whatever you want. Sound advice from a drunk woman... but it's what I do! If you're looking at taking 6 flights at once to get where you're going, take 2 or 3, then walk down the…

I willingly sleep uncomfortably in a cramped metal tube and wake up thousands of miles from home. I don't know any people there, I usually don't know the language, and the food is different from what I'm used to. I look at old things or strange landscapes.

I was pretty proud of myself this summer working the snacks at VBS for my church. I was able to lift 10-gallon coolers of lemonade by myself without having to ask one of the high school volunteers to help me. That's when I realized that all the working out I've been doing has given me not just progress toward fitness, but…

I'm with y'all. It's really demotivating when FitBit says I have a 489 calorie burn workout, and when it hits MFP... 76. No way.
-
Well, I WAS going to be honest and track my bit of king cake...
-
Woo hoo!

If you're having success using MFP, cut the expense of WW. Especially if you're working to get out of debt, free beats paid every time. Once you're out of debt, if you feel like you miss the meetings and you were really getting benefit from them you can always go back. Best wishes to your family as you pursue financial…

Happy Scale is a great app for showing a trend while recording daily. It keeps me from freaking out if I'm up one day, and from celebrating early if I'm down the next. The trend is what I'm after.

Be encouraged! One week is not a plateau. The scale will reflect your weight, but it may lie about your overall progress. If your clothes are looser, progress is being made. There are many ways to track progress and success - take your measurements! I've been at this for about 18 months, and in that time I've seen many…

Yeah - mine didn't record the missing days' data. It only updated today's data. I'll take that over it being completely broken, though. :\

I sent an e-mail to support, and got a reply saying to unlink the accounts (unlink FB from MFP, AND revoke access to MFP from Fitbit's website), wait 15 minutes, then reconnect. The e-mail also said to be sure to do these actions from the website, not the apps. THEN to make sure FitBit is checked on the "Steps" option if…

I sent an e-mail to support, and got a reply saying to unlink the accounts (unlink FB from MFP, and revoke access to MFP from Fitbit's website), wait 15 minutes, then reconnect. I was hesitant since that is exactly what they said NOT to do, but it did solve my issues. Now happily connected again. ETA - the e-mail also said…

A week. They say only a "small percentage" are still experiencing difficulty - but I'm still seeing a lot of complaints in here...
-
Same here. STILL not syncing.

Frustrating though it is, I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering delay. Sigh. It gave me six steps on Wednesday! 6! Out of 10k+! Grrr.

Wow, I rely a LOT on these two apps talking to each other! I need it to work!!

+1 for fridge storage. I have half an avocado for breakfast almost every day. I buy several at a time, and put the whole bag of them in the fridge. They can last a while if they aren't already overripe when you buy them.

I use them for lunches at work, but I'm trying to shift away from them. They keep me out of the food court attached to my building, but they're almost always heavier on the sodium and lighter on the protein than I prefer.

Coach and Fossil. MFP knows me.

Oooh - SUCH a favorite!

Strangely enough, my fingers. I noticed that my rings fit better pretty early on. Now a lot of them are very loose. A problem, but a good one.
-
Okay - that bit was actually funny. :)

Everything you said. Except for the Strax bit. I'm not the biggest fan of the Paternoster Gang - it feels like too much forced comedy to me.

Today, this is my happy place.

When I first got my fitbit, it would give me a crazy number of stairs climbed when I knew I hadn't climbed any. Plugging the charger into the laptop, plugging the fitbit into the charger and holding down the button (on a Fitbit One) will reset it, and it should behave after that. Mine and my husband's did. Sometimes the…

Yes to the Fitbit! I use the Fitbit One and love it. Their customer service is amazing. A friend of mine lost his because the clip it came with broke after about nine months of use. He was given a new Fitbit. Mine just recently keeled over after over a year and a half of use. My replacement fitbit is arriving today. Life…

eBay! Thrift! Wash them when you get them home. They'll smell like your detergent/fabric softener. You'll never know they didn't begin their lives in your closet. Seriously, you can get some great deals at thrift stores and online. If you look around, you can find some things that ARE new and still have tags. I got a Lane…
