  • What this guy said. Also, wear clothes that fit properly and you won't have any bulges or love handle muffin tops!
  • He might just need long reps. Even if he does, eyeing up all the ladies is pretty pervy behaviour. If you don't like it, you need to deal with it because you should stand up for yourself. If you can't say something to him yourself, tell the front desk.
  • Listen to your body and rest when you need to for as long as you need to. There may be ways to exercise around your injury though. I have a stress fracture, and although it's no where near as serious as your injury, I can't do any form of impact exercise (other than walking - on a good day) so I focus on strength training.
  • I've only been at this for 30 days but I'm noticing an improvement already. Even if it is small compared to the others I am reading on here! 1. 30 days ago I couldn't do ten full squats. Now I can do 120 EASY and today I'm starting to do them with WEIGHTS! 2. I can easily do planks for about 40 seconds. I couldn't last 5…
  • I log even if I go over. The calories still count whether I log them or not so I may as well keep an eye on what I'm eating!
  • I eat my workout calories back! Feel free to add me. (however, the last few days I've been ill so not worked out and have either been way under or over my calories. This isn't usual for me though, hope to get to the gym tomorrow if I feel better)
  • I weigh what I discard and then subtract that from what I had at the start, then add it that way.
  • I am 200ish lbs and yesterday I burned more than 700 calories doing 40 minutes of strength training followed by 30 minutes of dance workout dvd cardio! It was really really tough. I'll probably stick to lower calorie burning workouts from now on.
  • This might sound weird, but focus on strengthening your core more than your ankles. Your ankles will get stronger with exercise like running, but if you do some core workout (pilates, yoga, or just old fashioned planks and kettle bell workouts) then your gait will improve which will reduce the chances of lower leg injury…
  • I badly sprained mine in March 2011. I couldn't even walk on it for about 2 - 3 months and it was still weak and painful on exercise until about xmas 2011. Now I don't get much hassle from it, but it is still swollen more than a year later. Bad sprains can be worse than breaks to heal.
  • Thank you for the replies. I've worked out my BMR and TDEE from a couple of internet tools, including the Scooby one, so I'll try and work a bit more with those instead of the "net 1200" cals thing. Yesterday I couldn't work out at all and I felt starving all day on just 1200 cals!
  • I don't really know what to suggest so am guessing here - hydrate better? Make sure you're getting enough fat and protein in your diet and do some strength training to maintain muscle mass or increase it. Hope someone helps you more!
  • Yep - after I eat stuff like lots of sweets or crisps I get "food hangover" the next day.
  • Thanks. I've read the articles already but I'm waiting till the room is empty before watching videos.
  • Boredom eating is classed as emotional eating too. When I quit smoking a year ago I did a lot of this!
  • To the OP, track your calories for a while, and have a look at how many you are eating. You should work out your BMR (google will help you find a calculator) and try and eat the amount of calories to maintain the weight you want to reach. Or I think MFP has a "weight gain" function - try that for a while. Good luck!
  • Why would you be mad at the world? The only thing you are responsible for is yourself. You can't control anyone else or anything else. (and no one else can control you)
  • Holy **** dude, that's awesome!! Well done!
  • Jillian Michaels!
  • Yeah I have it and it's great. Sometimes I take my son out and he flies off on his scooter when the Zombies come! I'm sure people think we're crazy lol
  • Just what the others say: Start slow and gently. Increase your times for running real slow, at a 10% rate of increase per week. One other thing. I got a stress fracture from running when I wasn't used to it. My muscles weren't strong and my core was rubbish. After 15 minutes of running one day, I got a stress fracture.…
  • You already look pretty perfect! If I looked like you, I'd be happy as larry! If you really want to make yourself feel more confident though, forget restricting your calories to some low number, and just do some strength training. I'm getting married next year and all I can worry about is my arms and back in a sleeveless,…
  • I took last night's bolognaise left overs and added chilli, cayenne pepper, paprika, cumin and coriander to make chilli. With some wholegrain basmati rice and a little bit of grated cheese. It was amazing!
  • I prefer doing cardio on an empty stomach in the morning - runs or jogs or walks (not that I can run now thanks to a stress fracture, but usually I mean). I never went far enough to risk crashing and burning - 3 or 4 miles usually. Then a big breakfast! :-) For hard muscle work stuff I need energy so I don't do these in…
  • You got kidneys and intestines? Then you don't need to worry about any "cleanses". It's all pseudo science and bullcrap invented to siphon money out of anyone who falls for it.
  • My fiancé's ex's *kitten*. (I hope)
  • If you're smart enough to weed out the bullsh*t stuff about carbs, 4L of water and no gluten etc, you don't need this list. If you aren't smart enough - don't read this list!
  • You're not trying anywhere near hard enough and you're full of excuses. Bull**** excuses. Get up off your *kitten* and go for a walk for an hour. You will lap everyone still on the couch and you will never EVER regret doing a work out. You'll regret not working out though. And stop blaming your parents for telling you to…
  • Why not eat healthily and just up your exercise dramatically. But eat enough to fuel your exercises? Surely this would be preferable to a VLCD.
  • I crash dieted a few years ago. I did everything you are not supposed to do and I lost 100lbs. I was underweight, bones sticking out and very very unhealthy. I put on another 20lbs through being healthy and active that was cool for a year or two. Then I put on another 100lbs when I lost my job and got depressed and did…
