For a creamy dressing without the creamy fat, this is very good, but because of the beans and olive oil it's high in calories but you also get extra nutritional benefit from them. In a food processor combine: Garbanzo Beans (15.5 oz can) Dijon Mustard - Kroger, 2 tsp (5g) Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 4 Tbsp. (15mL) Balsamic…

I just made this recipe: http://www.thegardengrazer.com/2013/01/bulgur-vegetable-chili.html It was really good and flavorful! It made 8 1 cup servings for 167 cals per serving. All the ingredients were pretty inexpensive and the bulgur is a good filler for other recipes. You could also get more bang for your buck by buying…

What I found that really works is what I read in Starting Strength. Instead of gripping the bar so that it's across the middle of your palm, let the bar be cradled in the area were your fingers connect to your palms. Rippetoe explains that if the bar is going to slip and end up in that area anyway, it should just start…

Thanks!! Today is my first day lifting and not doing SS in a reeeeeaaaaallllllly long time and I didn't really have a plan ... but with your suggestions I have a pretty good one formulating in my head now! What do your sets/reps look like? 3 sets 8-10 reps??

What specific exercises do you usually do?

I prefer free weights as well! Been doing SS for about 6 months my mind has been so conditioned to only know squat, bench, DL, and OHP, that I've forgotten all the other exercises out there lol!! I'm bored with SS and need a change-up for a bit!!

It really is hard to avoid a lot of the convenience foods that we are surrounded by. To think all of that sugar in a jar of spaghetti sauce!!! Something that is made primarily with tomatoes!!! It really does boil down to educating oneself on what really is in the processed foods we eat and making decisions based on that…

LOL I do the same thing!! I'm in La Crosse and try to get to the TJ's in Rochester as often as possible! A cooler helps during the summer months :) I always stock up on soyrizo and freeze it when I get home. I love their frozen polenta, cheese enchiladas, yellow curry sauce, and so much more!

On Sunday I made black bean burritos with zuchinni, bell pepper, and lots of yummy spices, salsa and just a sprinkiling of cheese wrapped in a 90-cal tortilla. I made enough for the week and wrapped them in tin foil so I could just pop them in the toaster oven at lunch. They were less than 300 calories!! I did a little…

Not the nicest thing I've ever done, but around the holidays I get a kick outta paying for the person's order in the car behind me at Starbucks (it was done to me once and I thought it was a great idea.) As I don't have a ton of disposable income, I do make sure there is only one person in the car :)

I don't think I get hit on at the gym, but on two occasions I've had guys offer unsolicitated "advice," (saying i should look up when I squat, but I do SS and Rippetoe says to look down) which perhaps might have just been excuses to talk to me, or maybe they were just genuinly concerend, but I would like to think the…

I've been a sprint customer for 15 years (sheesh I'm old) and have been happy with my service. I pay $78/month inlcuding taxes and fees for everything (that's also because I get a 15% discount because of where I work, ask if your eligible for any discounts) which i think is a smoking deal. I just got an Iphone and I love…

Haha, this reminds me of when I was a kid and my mom would pick me up mid-day from school for dentist appointments she would always bring a thermos of water, my toothbrush and paste and make me brush on the way to the dentist, she would pull over on the side of the road so I could swish and spit
