Did not know this! It does change things. I'm assuming you can just buy the chest strap separately? I will look into that. Thanks! @Tacklewasher The Fenix sounds like a great option but just not in the budget right now. Hoping to spend under $250/300 (CAD). It does look awfully large too...

Thank you, @Duck_Puddle , your comment is SUPER helpful! Thanks everyone! @stanmann571 @Pocket__Cthulhu So all of your comments are actually making me second guess my need for a new tracker. Maybe I should just dig out my old Polar and start using that again. I just found the chest strap a bit cumbersome but if I am mainly…

Hey, thanks for the comments. I teach spin class a couple times a week and lift weights to supplement. I also enjoy plenty of other activites: hiking, snowshoeing, xcountry skiing, etc - so a multi activity tracker is a must. What is seems to be boiling down to for me with each tracker is: the Vivoactive, reviews are…

Thanks to those who offered advice and shared their experiences!

Thanks for your replies, ladies! I did talk to my doctor about exercise (as I teach spin class twice a week)...she said that as long as I stick to what I was doing before and don't pick up any new intense exercises it is fine. I will continue the spin class as long as it's comfortable and have been still playing tennis and…

Hi ladies! I am also due around May 4th - it seems as though I got pregnant as soon as I stopped taking the pill. Will have to wait for first ultrasound to get a more accurate date. Looking forward to following everyone's stories! :)

ahh bike riding is the best! and such a great way to get stronger and more fit! like above posters have mentioned, you might not find any ol' bike does the trick...but you can definitely get a bike to fit you! something to look for specifically is double rimmed wheels. They are built stronger ...not only for heavier…

"Baskets" by Dan Mangan. A song about growing old...makes me teary eyed every time. If you've never heard of him, look him up. He's a great Canadian singer/songwriter!

I did it just over a year ago. Best decision ever! My eyes weren't terrible but bad enough. I had worn contacts for so many years I was getting to the point where I could no longer wear them...and I've always hated wearing glasses! The procedure was quick, less than 10 minutes for me, and it didn't hurt but there was…

i would love to be part of this group too!! :) wahaahoo!!

I remember reading somewhere that if you keep the treadmill on 0% incline, it's actually slightly downhill - to better simulate running on a flat road up your incline to 1%. That's what I've been doing lately and it definitely feels more like road running!

i just copied and pasted a post I had written in response to another thread, give it a try, hope it helps!!! we have chickens also...the trick to hard boiling fresh eggs is to let the water boil before you put the eggs in - the hot water kind of shocks (for lack of better term) the egg into retracting from the shell = easier to peel! oh and also best to use room temperature eggs! cheers :)

You are not the only one! There are only so many bikes for our spin class - I always use 1 of 2...we are all usuals in the class and we all have 'our' bikes and it works out perfectly. I get this almost embarrassing rage when someone new comes to the class and takes one of 'my' bikes haha! Since New Years (resolutioners!)…

add me!! We have similar stats so it would be fun to follow each others progress!! cheers

I haven't had any serious knee problems as of yet....but I do know that if my seat is a little too low, I definitely feel the extra strain on my knees...and if it's a little too high, i feel it in my hips! Our instructor really stresses that it's very important to fit the bike to you the best you can! So maybe try playing…

I love love love spinning! I have been doing it for a while now and our class is very vigorous (tons of seated climbs, intense intervals, etc)... our instructor has no mercy on us anymore lol! MFP says I burn upwards of 1000 cals for a 50 min class...which I think is a little high - however, there is a girl in our class…
