  • Definitely see a podiatrist or a physiotherapist to find the underlying cause and help correct it. For me it was really low arches (needed to get custom orthotics) and weak calves (for which I do stretches and strength building exercises multiple times a week). I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis for nearly 2 years…
  • I just made these muffins for the first time today and they were pretty decent. They are dairy/gluten/egg free and you could easily make them one day and then have them ready to grab and go for the next few mornings. http://www.jaysbakingmecrazy.com/2015/05/25/paleo-breakfast-muffins/
  • Calgary, AB here. Originally from rural Manitoba.
  • Lost count of my distance today, but I swam for 45 minutes. Approx half of my swim was front crawl, and I am feeling a lot more comfortable with it now! I am able to control my breathing a lot better. When I started a month ago I would be gasping for air after one or two lengths of front crawl and mostly stuck to breast…
  • My swim was frustrating today because of how crowded the pool was. I only started swimming again about a month ago, but this is the most crowded I've seen the pool so far. I hope it's not going to be like this all fall/winter! I also kept getting stuck behind people who were swimming quite a bit slower than me (we were…
  • I kept track of my distance for the first time today and I swam 1150m in approx 40 minutes. I have no idea if that's any good (probably not since I've only really been at it for 3 weeks), but now I have a number that I can try to improve on in my future swims.
  • Hi, new to the group! I did swim today, and it was awesome because I had a whole lane to myself for most of my swim! I haven't been keeping track of my distances yet since I just started swimming again a couple weeks ago, but I swam for over 40 minutes today (up from 30 minutes when I started).
  • Here! I see you're from Winnipeg - up until a week ago I lived about an hour away! I just moved to Calgary though. Feel free to add me if you need more friends on your list!
  • I have a pair of these and I like them. They're lightweight, moisture wicking, and also seamless. I would get more but they're kind of expensive and I can only get them online (and shipped internationally which is even more pricey). http://knixwear.com/collections/athletic Other than this one pair I own, I just wear…
  • I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis for the last few months and I have unfortunately had to completely stop high impact activities like running. I still exercise, but I stick to weight lifting and low impact cardio like the stationary bike, swimming (when i have access to a pool) and sometimes the elliptical. I wear…
  • Wow, that's already awesome progress! Way to go! And I love the Opeth tattoo :)
  • An increase of a few pounds is very common when starting a new workout or changing your routine. Your body retains extra water to help repair your muscles. The extra pounds will be gone in 1-2 weeks once your body has adjusted :)
  • Which websites do you order from? I'm currently a 44A which also doesn't exist ANYWHERE. One time I was successful in finding a couple bras in my size at herroom.com. Other than that I mostly just buy bras that are too small and use an extender. It's infuriating!!
  • Feel free to add me if you need some new friends! I'm in the same boat - gained back all my weight and am starting from scratch again (at my highest weight ever!). Even though I've been pretty active most of my life, I am definitely starting to feel pretty limited in what I can do physically now because of my weight. Time…
  • Hello! I'm pretty introverted as well, and I have also had difficulty making new friends after moving to a new place. Like you, I have at least 100 lbs to lose. If you still need some more friends, feel free to add me :)
  • I don't have much advice for you right now, but I just wanted to say I feel your pain, as I'm in the same boat right now. I injured my foot while running too, and I'm so bummed because I was really looking forward to doing a ton of exercising this summer (I'm just finishing my first year of teaching so I was FINALLY going…
  • I don't drink that often, but when I do I see a significant gain the next day. Usually 2-5 pounds, and then its gone again in a few days.
  • Story of my life. I always lose weight in my chest first, and I already have so little to work with there in the first place! Most of my weight is stored in my stomach, and that's the last place I start to lose from. It's incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately there's nothing we can really do about it :(
  • I closed mine for the same reason. Mine was open to my friends for quite some time which was fine when I was doing great, but when I would slip up I was reluctant to log truthfully because I knew some people might see it and I was embarrassed. I ended up closing it to encourage myself to be 100% truthful in my logging. I…
  • I lost about 60 pounds a few years ago but gained it all back plus more. It was mostly because things in my life changed and I no longer had the time or the money to continue the eating and exercise habits I had built. My priorities shifted and I stopped focusing on taking care of myself which was a huge mistake.
  • Thanks for the replies and friend requests everyone! I've been drumming since I was about 12. I was a music major in university and drumset was my main instrument :) I haven't been able to play as much since I graduated though which is kind of a bummer. I especially miss playing in bands! Not many opportunities for that…
  • Holy crap, that's absolutely amazing! Not only do you look fantastic, but you have accomplished an amazing feat with your running. Seriously inspirational! I have kind of aspired to run a half marathon someday, assuming that I would never be able to do a full marathon, but now that I read your story I'm thinking of aiming…
  • Haha this. I don't really understand the problem. I'm assuming your gym is indoors and therefore not cold like it is outside. Unless you have to walk to the gym maybe? If that's the case just put on a jacket. The only time weather ever keeps me from the gym is if there's a huge snowstorm and the plows haven't been out.…
  • I'm kind of hoping that I have the right bone structure to be able to achieve one when I'm at a healthy weight, solely for the rubbing/chafing reasons that have been mentioned already. I've never been a completely normal weight as an adult so I don't know for sure if I will have one or not. I don't have any specific thigh…
  • Oh man you read my mind. I have spent the last 2 hours debating in my mind whether I should make a batch of brownies! Trying to stay strong because I've already eaten all my calories for the day, plus its after midnight and I should really just go to bed haha
  • When I first changed my activity level I missed a cycle too. I've read it's a pretty common thing when you are drastically changing your lifestyle. If there's no chance of pregnancy there's probably nothing to worry about and your body will adjust soon.
  • I don't have a specific size in mind because I've honestly never been an ideal weight before so I don't know what size I'm supposed to be. The smallest I've been as an adult is a 12, and I probably could have still lost a size or two. So maybe around an 8? I'm just going to keep going until I'm happy and healthy. I do know…
  • I'm 23, but I don't plan on getting married or having children in the future. I could use some childless people on my friends list too! I have nothing against anyone who wants to get married or have kids, many of them have been very supportive friends, but it would be nice to have some friends who lead a similar lifestyle!
  • I'm the opposite :frown: I lost from my boobs and my face first, and I really don't have a lot to work with in the chest area to begin with!!
  • Aiming for 2000 this week. I came just short of my goal of 1800 this past week because I had to take an extra rest day due to soreness, but I think now that I'm adjusting to being at the gym regularly again the DOMS won't be so debilitating haha. If I can work out 5 times this week I should reach my goal easily.
