Hello old and welcome to new members! I dropped off the radar for a week - work's insane (not an excuse, I know) and I was out of town all weekend. I took last week off from logging. My trainer was concerned that I was paying more attention to calories than I was to nutrition, so I've re-focused on eating as much whole…

I had a huge NSV yesterday - conquered my fear of jumping! For some reason I've been completely paralyzed at the idea of jumping onto a step or a little plyo box, but yesterday I plowed through it and DID IT! I have an amazing trainer, who just sat on one of the taller steps and basically said he'd sit there until I…

EPIC!!! I am happy to suggest hotels, activities, etc for while you're in town and we will definitely need to do some sort of event for us to meet and celebrate. This is going to be awesome!!

Amen! Julie - the course has one stretch on bricks and one stretch on gravel, so am not sure that strollers will be allowed. Not sure it would be particularly comfortable for little Maisie! Heather - so incredibly excited you registered today! Deb - congrats on your loss! I forgot to weigh in this morning. Too…

The 1/2 marathon is on May 20, 2012. If a 1/2 marathon is too scary, there is an 8K the day before. http://www.runforachievabledream.com/ I have a training schedule one of my friends helped me out with, and I'll send it around if you're interested. Just private message me your email!

I AM SO EXCITED!!! (and completely terrified at the same time) I just registered, so I'm all in. Don't worry about booking your room until we're into 2012 - we'll take care of it once it gets closer! I'm bouncing in my desk chair.

I messaged you the details on the half-marathon in case I can persuade you to train for May instead of August (won't it be scorchingly hot in August?!?!!?). I forgot to mention, though, that I can get you a deal on hotel rooms at the official hotels since I work here.

Hey everyone! I've been a bit under the weather with the change of seasons this week - it went from being 95 and humid to 65 (and still humid) overnight last week and I'm always that person who gets sick from it. Nothing too major, just some sinus issues, but it's been enough to have me sleeping a lot (but not…

I completely agree - I made it impossible for myself NOT to lose the weight because I told everyone I'd ever met that I was going to run an 8-mile race in a few months and was going to lose weight. I actually learned about the concept in an organizational behavior class....it's proven that if you tell a LOT of people…

I saw something similar on skinnytaste.com recently - was this that recipe? It looked good but I hadn't tried it yet.

Happy Monday, y'all! I had a good weekend - parents were in town and we had a great day/night together. I was sad to see them leave Sunday morning. I wasn't feeling great this weekend - the change in seasons always gets me a little sick and we went from 85 degree weather to 65 degrees and rainy overnight - but went to the…

FRIDAY CHECK-IN TIME, LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Allison.............-0.2..................0.1% Yesterday: Calories: under Water: 80+ ounces Sodium: well under Exercise: quick 2 mile run Proud: I was feeling iffy on whether or not I wanted to run, but I made myself hit the treadmill (it was raining). AND, even though I had lots…

I can totally relate - I occasionally will have days where I am just really freaking hungry (and actually hungry, not thirsty or bored or emotional, etc). I try to satisfy the hunger with something still moderately healthy, but slightly indulgent - a small filet, some dark chocolate covered almonds, etc. I find that…

Hey everyone! I feel like I've been gone for months and months, not just a couple of weeks. I've been doing well, though am still really tired from my insane work week last week. My 5K was not nearly as good as I'd hoped, but I just had no gas in the tank to do well Saturday morning. I like, though, that I can recognize…

Yesterday's check-in: Calories - under (too far under, honestly) Water - 80 ounces Sodium - under Exercise - 70 minutes of personal training. Can barely walk this morning! Proud - I hit new levels of awesome in my workout today. Lifting heavier weights, powering through my inner monologue of "just stop now, you've done…

Hey everyone! Welcome to all the new ladies. I guess I'll do a quick recap - my name is Allison and I'm 29. I've lost about 85 pounds since starting losing weight in July of 2010. My focus lately has not been weight loss, but rather on proper nutrition, working out and building muscle, and my running goals. I plan to hit…

Luckily the weather has been nice post-storm, so it's been okay to sleep with the windows open. And I'd stocked up on candles and bought a book light. That handy tidbit was courtesy of an aunt that survived Hurricane Andrew in Miami back in the 1990s. That was clutch. So I've read about 8 books this week, give or take a…

Hey everyone. I HAVE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I apparently also have about 4-5 extra pounds. I'm incredibly dehydrated, so am focusing on getting a lot of water into my system today and tomorrow to try and get back to normal. Some of those pounds are because I'm dehydrated and have been eating lots of…

Thanks for all the love, ladies! I'm getting a little anxious since I'll be by myself, but am doing my best to stay calm and prepare. It was really calm and beautiful here this morning, but the outer bands are coming ashore and the wind is kicking up. What's weird is that there are no birds anywhere. They're all gone. I'm…

Hey everyone, I completely forgot to weigh in this morning. I've spent the last 24 hours preparing for the hurricane (it looks like we're getting a direct hit). Yesterday was filling up the gas tank, getting some canned food, fresh fruits and vegetables that don't need refrigeration, and doing laundry, making ice, etc.…

Hey everyone! I had a good weekend, for the most part. Spent Saturday morning at the 2 local markets, getting fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat for the coming week, then drove up to see my best friend and some of my classmates. The only downside with Saturday is that I was insanely hungry ALL DAY. I did my best to eat…

Checking in for Friday! Hopefully everyone remembered to weigh-in this morning. Allison...............-0.8.............0.39% I am getting tantalizingly close to being under 200. Just 2.4 pounds to go! Other August goals - *30DS every day I'm not working out with my trainer - I've been good about working out 6 days/week *no…

It is seriously as dismal as its name implies:

Hey everyone - sorry I've been MIA. I've been unbelievably cranky, feeling unwell, and just moody. :grumble: TOM is here, but I'm on the pill, so I thought most of these symptoms were supposed to go away or lessen, NOT GET WORSE! I've been all over the place, and I think it's the birth control more than anything else. So I…

I know, right? So yummy and the perfect appetizer. Plus, it helps me stay focused on portion control when the pizza comes! That way I can have some pizza and have it fit within my daily plan. Personally, I don't believe in "cheats". I think it's the wrong mentality to have.
-
Check out the arugula and asparagus salad (it's a small plate). I split that with my mom, then 3 of us split a pizza with the honey wheat crust. Still more sodium than I'd like in a meal, but it's doable that way.
-
I like the way you just told your journey...very unconventional but no less inspirational. I'm going to have to do the same thing!!!
-
I'll kick off the Friday weigh-in Allison............-1.8.........0.88% And as for August goals: *Getting under 200: I am so freaking close. Just about 3 pounds. *30DS every day I'm not working out with my trainer: Would be better if I hadn't been sick two days this week. I've been good about it when I haven't been sick,…

If I want that slice of pizza, I'll eat it. But I'll only eat one, and I'll eat it with a large salad. This is a permanent change for me, so I'm going to eat things that are "bad" but I'm going to do it smartly and with control. So, if you want that pizza, by all means have a slice!

Heather: you're always so positive and upbeat. Your posts always make me smile. Yo go for that duathalon and the 1/4 marathon! I'm back at work today, though with the shades drawn (it's like I'm in a cave) and a lot of breaks. Still feeling nauseated and light-sensitive from the migraine yesterday. Trying to keep the food…
