Cute hair!

The biggest problem is that i could easily find an article (I already have) the rebukes this article. There are no citations to know if what is stated is fact or opinion. I don't suffer from any of the affects listed, so I'm not going to worry too much.

I started out with the diet code ... then went to diet lime coke! Now I'm drinking coke zero ... it just tastes better.

Since you used the term "trophy wife", I think it's safe to say you have a very lucky husband! Well done!

An absolute must! But not for weight training, unless your weight training is in the form of circuits and/or HIIT. They tend to over estimate your calories burned during normal weight training.

Funny you say this: I may see a picture of someone who does not fit in the hot category, but when I see they are funny and sarcastic, they suddenly move much closer to the hot category. For me, a person's personality has an impact on how I visually "see" them. Sounds strange, but it's true.

Bump - want to hear what others have to say. I may have more input on Tuesday ... will explain then if I do.

Here are a couple of articles worth reading. The first is about how some people will drop weight, then stop, and then drop again. The second is a must read about plateauing. http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html…

Thanks for the tip! Enjoyed looking at all your hot friends!

If I had abs worthy of a close up shot, I'd be all over it! Why, because it would be an absolutely amazing achievement and I'd want to show it off.

Oops, please disregard my friend request!

So, let's be clear here: I have not sent a friend request because someone was hot. There has always been a "legitimate" reason for the request. If they were hot, that wasn't the reason for it.

I've wanted to, but haven't.

One of the best ways it to get a heart rate monitor that will calculate calories. There are other ways to do it, but they will only be a guess.

Have you taken measurements? Sometimes the best way to measure results in with a tape measure and not the scale. You don't say what you are doing, but if you are doing exercises the promote gaining muscle, then you are probably gaining muscle and losing fat. Your net weight change is negligible, but you are SEEING the…

You have come to the right place! I was so surprised to discover how many calories I was consuming. Logging every little thing made me realize that even when I thought I was doing well, I really wasn't! I'd be happy to help support your efforts. Read my bio and decide if you think I can provide what you need.

Yes, the BB and BMF are actually from the same people (so I read someplace). Yes, it uses the arm band, which I'm OK with. I will adjust it up or down to keep the dents out! :) I also have a Polar FT7 heart rate monitor I use to get my workout calories (this uses a chest strap transmitter and watch receiver). It'll be…

@iKristine - I really wanted to get the BB. They sell them at my gym, but the subscription thing turned me off in a very big way. I didn't realize the BB didn't provide sleep vs. lying down. I was just now looking at the sleep data and, wow! I knew I was a restless sleeper, but this thing seems to really have nailed it! I…

Agreed! I'm truly amazed at the amount of personal analysis you have done on yourself. And the bravery to post your story so others can read and benefit from it.

Congrats on getting a new one! Sucks that your BodyBugg was stolen. The one I have does not sync to my phone, though that would be cool.

Something else to try is to incorporate a spike day or meal. Basically, set a day (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) where you allow yourself a little extra. It gives you something to look forward to, so that on your regular days you know you have a reward coming up. My wife and I do this every Saturday. We try to be sensible…

Here is a great article posted by another MFP member that everyone should bookmark: http://fitnesswithnatalie.blogspot.com/2011/05/most-dreaded-word-in-weight-loss.html

That is a pretty amazing story! I've never stopped to think about this "all or nothing" approach to dieting (I consider "under 1000 calories" nothing), and how consuming it might be. I'm glad you recognize the need to increase your calories. In my not-so-humble opinion: 1200 calories still seems to low. But I also know…

<<<<< See my before picture? When I first saw it, I realized something needed to change.

I was diagnosed with boarder line high blood pressure when I was 14. It was 140/85 (average). For the next 27 years, those numbers were consistent, and nothing was done, until I got a new primary care physician. She told me we've been monitoring my BP long enough, it was time for meds. The first dosage didn't provide the…

Absolutely! That's what keeps my wife going; knowing she has a day to look forward to gives her more will power on the other days. It also reinforces the idea that you don't have to completely give up those things you like. BTW, awesome profile picture!

You guys are awesome, and I've seen some awesome skin posted here! I find the skin pictures so motivating.

Me too! Every Saturday. Hey, that's today!!!

That is so awesome! I remember the first time I realized the benefit of my workouts. My wife and I were hiking in Yosemite. We were going uphill and she says, "Stop, I'm too winded to go on without a rest!" I felt fine. I was breathing heavy, but it was normal considering the climb we were making. Made me realize that my…
